Just wanted to say a big thank you to all of you who've bought a copy of Mini Mysteries so far! You absolutely rock. I wanted to clarify, Mini Mysteries is a series of games designed for families, so I recommend playing them with younger puzzlers (ages 8+) or as a good introduction to puzzle games to the new puzzler in your life. The difficulty is on the easy end so if you're a hardcore puzzler I suggest you give it a miss or buy a copy for the cool kids in your life! Lots of grown ups have played and enjoyed it too, I just wanted to make sure everyone knows what they're getting :)
I've got to stop watching these videos. I thought it was Fun to learn that Adam was a board game fan like myself. Yet ever since I've subscribed, I've devopled a bit of a problem. In the past 2 months I've bought 15 new games, all seen from these videos. They are taking over every weekend. My family and friends are worry.
I love Adam's passion and enthusiasm for these games and the side knowledge that NRB provides with the British accent and snark. Also, the editing and visual gags elevates the whole thing. Keep it up gang!
About time you covered T.I.M.E. Stories! It's my favorite game and boy howdy is it good! Like, some of the adventures (looking at you Prophecy of Dragons and Lumen Fidei) are my favorite experiences in all of board gaming. It really is "punch the air levels of victory". No game can make you feel so freaking satisfied when you've cracked a puzzle. It's... jawdropping.
Love this! Never knew I could get interested in this genre, but just about all of these games sound great! I’d love to see you make a list for 4X games in the future!
Got to play the Egyptian themed game tonight, It was really well put together and very smooth playing and the puzzles were engaging, I might perhaps want some with a higher difficulty but as the game is family focused the difficulty level is perfect for kids who will also learn about the Psedjet as they go. A fun experience all round 10/10 will be waiting for news on new games.
Hi Adam, can you do a top 10 area control board games video? I love your reviews and would like to know your top picks for the area control category. :)
Jon is making mystery games? I gotta look into that! While I love the idea of Micro Macro Crime City, (hidden object boardgame meets murdery Where's Waldo?) it gives me the impression of being logistically difficult to play. Four people crowded over a map, fighting over a small magnifying glass to actually see something seems like an issue that could come up. Absolutely love the Exit series of games, The Initiative seems very interesting, and you have mentioned Chronicles of Crime a number of times now, so that would be interesting to check out at some point.
How is this the first I've heard of Jon running a company that sells literal mystery boxes? Has this been mentioned before on the channel, and if not, how could you not mention this before? That's great! I will totally look into this, and very likely order one!
If you buy everything that Jon produces, do you get a Crowded House?... Did Awkward Guests nearly make the list? Or was it not considered as more of a deduction game?
The Initiative probably has the best replayability in a "legacy" game, as it has an entire deck of additional one off puzzles you can complete, after the main story
Played Detective Season One with my sister and brother-in-law yesterday because of this video. We were WAY off when it came to our final report! The game’s good at throwing in red herrings! Still, we had fun doing it. Thanks for your lists guys 😁😁😁😁😁😁
Wait...was that Sullivan voicing The Baron in one of Jon's games at the end? I was already excited about learning of these games, but that is the cherry on top if that is the case!
Would definitely put the Unlock series above other classic escape room board games like Exit and Escape Room the Game! :O They are brilliant at creating a sense of adventure and have some amazing puzzles! Decktective is also a great series, surprisingly intricate and well thought out for such small games. Neil Patrick Harris' Box One was also great - full of cool surprises, you could really tell it was a passion project. The Suspects series is another good one.
Very interesting - I adore the old fashioned mystery games. My favourite is 221 B Baker Street game, but I haven't seen those newer games. However, no amount of new gimmicks won't help if the thinking and logics behind the game is bad. Figures and numbers which do not mean anything, like "take the fifth letter of the word meaning the third day of the week".. and then U compile the answer going through these silly tasks with no meaning.. - dull. But when the murder is described with having no visible injuries.. then would you go to find a clue to theater.., or taxi station.., or perhaps pharmacy.. Because if U go to the pharmacy U will hear that Miss X had bought this and that poisonous substance.. Now that is logics and that is interesting! I know it is far more difficult to create a good crime story and then make logical clues which actually make sense and are not just letter or number tricks. It is like writing a detective story as a book. But luckily, some game makers go through this trouble. However, actually only a small part of the 221 B Baker Street stories fullfil these criteria, so maybe some of the presented games are even better..
I remember playing a Sherlock game. Went through the hole game thinking i was on the right track. Announced that i had the case cracked... then i wasn't even close. My god.... i might be more of a cluedo guy.
I truly wish someone would have come up with the idea of single player board games back when I was a kid in the 80s and early 90s I can't tell you how many times I tried to get friends to play board games with me like Heroes Quest VCR clue Dragon strike I could never even find a single person that played DMV I sadly bought rulebook and module after module just to read them and wish that someone would be interested enough to play with me but none of my friends ever even wanted to give it a try of course any board game is way more fun with friends but when you have no one who is interested in them what you are what could you do I would have had a lot of fun with some of these single player games back then
I'm also an inventor of Mistery books and activity board . I usually draw it in my diary .I haven't sell my ideas commercial yet but InshaAllah my dream is to do it 🥰🥰My parents didn't really understand my talent as it is a unique one .
Seeing all this, and the form the subgenre has taken, I'm forced to ask: how has there not been a high-profile current gen Carmen Sandiego tabletop game produced?
Honestly the exit games are...hit and miss at best the puzzles can be more than a stretch and the production could be better for the money..its the little things like the main "poster" being really shiny paper the origami style puzzles never really working. Some are alright other leave you feeling a bit ripped off

You should go to the association of Anonymous Board Game Players. They help people in this situation.
Atleast you can buy I am poor looking for a card print pdf lol 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
I’m honestly so grateful for this channel. Kind of creepy the way you always make a video about the very thing I’m looking for, but very grateful.

Detective - City of Angels is German.
!!!! I need to talk to Jon about carrying his games.
YES PLEASE LET'S TALK
At 1:02 I imagined William Reagal saying: "This can only be settled in a match of BOARD GAMES!!!"
Lol
I love your videos. Everything is perfect. The editing, the tone, the music, Adam's voice, etc.
Favorite new UA-cam find by far guys.
One of my favorite mystery games is Awkward Guests. It plays more smarter than Clue and it's infinitely replayable!
I was looking at the Sherlock Holmes consulting detective games the other day, going to pick one up once paid.

Mystery games are my favorites and there are some new ones on here for me. I'm going to have to go shopping. Great video!
Adam you're killing my wallet, man. I can only plan to buy so many games and you're recommending too many good ones!
Love this! Never knew I could get interested in this genre, but just about all of these games sound great!
I’d love to see you make a list for 4X games in the future!
Thank you so much for this content! This was the perfect list for my wife and I! There are so many games on this list I need to get now!
Love these types of games.
Tx! This video is honestly very very helpful!!
Thing is about that “Mystery of how to subscribe” joke is that with the way UA-cam keeps needlessly complicating things soon it WILL be a mystery!
Fantastic list. Just brought a mini mysteries box. Looks awesome.
yes mate!!! Really hope you enjoy :)
@@JonGracey69 I'll let you know once it arrives and we play through it :D

I know it's been referenced indirectly a couple of times. It was on the "need to find out about that" list.
You're the best!! Hope you enjoy!
good list ! very surprised mansion of madness isnt on this though

It is not Sullivan, (the game was made before we met) but it certainly sounds like him!!

Look. I get it's the numbers 9, then 10.
But I did laugh at POO9.
These sound great, question I would have is how repayable are they. Once you've ran through a couple of times will all the puzzles be done.
Mmmm, more content. Put it right into my soul

I get nervous about games you need to go to a website to play. What do you do with the box if the company shuts down the site?
Omg... you are bloody hilarious

Hey Adam, whens the next Blood on the Clocktower game gonna drop?
They’re monthly, and the last one was 3 weeks ago, so probably next Tuesday
Am i the only person on this world who sat down days to color the Macro city map instead of solving the crimes?
Is the girl voice in the end from SS4 of Sherlock?
So now instead of Adam's busted phone we conteplate Adam's huge tablet
When’s the next blood in the clocktower? It’s been a month? 🥺🥺
Adam’s favorite mystery style super hero?
Ok guys seriously, when is the next blood on the clocktower haha
