When us Twins fans first got a look at this young player, I thought Wow, he doesn't "look like" an MLB player at all (not a Joe Mauer or Justin Morneau look-alike); but then we saw his skills, his ability to get on base, his courage, ability to play almost all 9 positions, his big HEART, and love for the game and he easily became a fan favorite.... If I encounter any critic of him or someone making fun of him or how he looks, I will tell them... well, lets see YOU out there doing what he does. Rock on, son!

He's the type of player you designate as his position as - ATH, for he is so extremely athletically gifted, he can play pretty much all positions on the Diamond. You can tell he enjoys and appreciates his opportunity for playing as a professional baseball player as a young adult and has fun doing it with his seriousness. He's the epitome of the quote: "When you choose the job you love, you'll never work a day in your life!" *"⚾️ Viva La Tortuga! 🐢"*

0:52 it's crazy how that missed catch by Hicks is almost identical to the game ending catch he did make in 2019. Vs the same Twins at the same Target Field in the same just left of center area with the same batter Max Kepler in both instances. It's like Hicks learned where he needed to position himself and got his revenge. Didi had a ridiculous game as did Judge but to say the MVP of that game was anyone but Hicks is just plain silliness
He has his own completely unique hitting style. Anything anywhere close. Couple days ago got a pitch at ear level. Got his bat up there and clubbed it over the left field wall for a home run. And I do mean ‘clubbed’ it. Think it was same game, playing first base. Batter shatters his bat wit a slow bouncer toward first. He grabs the ball, then does duck and cover routine as end of the bat flies over him and drops behind him. He then sprints to first to put out the batter. The look on his face. 😂
This guy makes baseball fun again.
