Hi Jason. We're finally up over here in Canada. (6 hours behind you, lol.) Good detailed description! Hope you don't mind, but I'm planning to mention your 1/400 Queen Mary 2 Full Build Episodes later today. (tonight for you) 😁
Nice detailed First Impressions, Seems we both have kits in similar condition, lots of detailed clear plastic painting and 478 balcony's to paint and that's just the ones in the hull! probably 4x that on the whole ship... lol. BTW sent you pictures of the photo etch instructions. Cheers 👍⚓
Hi Jason, this looks like it's going to be a lot if fun to build. Great Ebay find for the PE set. You should keep track of how much paint you use, I'll bet it's going to take quite a bit. See you next week, thanks for sharing!
I found the balconies to be a pain to paint, I ended up using an acrylic pen but you have more skill than me so I'm looking forward to see how you tackle this .
Jason, this looks like a beautiful kit. A couple of questions, 1. Can you get a new set of decals for the kit just in case there is an issue with the decals you have? 2. Is there any details in the rooms or is just floors and walls? Looking forward to watching you build this kit. I'll definitely enjoy the series. Personally, I think it would be a little much for me to take on at this point. Nevertheless, I may eventually give it a try down the road as I become more comfortable with working with photo etch and what not. On a sidebar note, what is your opinion about the Eduard photo etch upgrades for ships? I am considering purchasing them for my 1/350 scale ships that I told you about when I first started following you. As far as the QM2 I think I will learn alot from you as you progress through this build. Let's press on, and I'm looking forward to it.
Hi Steven, you cannot get separate decals really, but I have tested them and they appear ok. The kit comes with no internal detail really but we are discussing putting some interior detail in some rooms, you will have to wait and see 🙂. I will be talking through the build fir beginners as well and you could build it etch free, it would be a little less detailed thats all. Eduard etch is probably the best entry level etch the instructions are very clear and its not to expensive if you don’t use it all. Remind me what ship your planning to build? I will be doing a video soon on etch brands 👍🏻
@@ModelkitStuff Bismark, Hood, Prinz Eugen, and the Prince of Wales. Those are the first four. I noticed the Bismark didn't really have a lot available, Prinz Eugen only had rails and cranes. The Hood had a little more, and the Prince of Wales had the most. I already printed out the pdfs for each of them.
@@stevenwheaton874 Tamiya or trumpeter? there is load of etch available for Bismarck. have you seen my first impressions video for print Eugen, I cover a lot of aftermarket on that.

Thanks Peter I am sure they will be hand. I perhaps did not need to know how many rooms needed painting 😯
