I rode on that original train 40 years ago with you dad's dog Scamper. Chuck (Butch) Eckerson is one of a kind and knows more about steam power than any man in America!
The only thing I am worried about is that he doesnt have planning consent for a an unfenced live steam railway right next to a public footway. Theres a big safety issue here.
that is a beautiful locomotive. This has become a big thing (pun intended) lately. This is the next best thing to a full size railroad..very impressive, i love it!
That was just too cool even down to putting water in it.The baggage car was a sharp looking car.I hope you show it again after your repairs.thanks for shareing
@JJ dryer did they get a new engine to replace the old one? Because last time I drove by I saw a new engine and the old one was gathering rust on the turntable.
I have loved this train Spence I was a kid! My parent knew these people and I have had many great encounting with this train! Really wish I had it at my house now or maybe ran a little more
Nice work!!!!! Love the steam in the snow part at the end!!!!!!! Also love the sounds of a minature steam locomotive on a minature railway, blow the whistle as often as you can..... If the neighbours dont like it, move next door to me mate!!!!!
In North Hollywood, Opposite of the Park that skirted the Interstate 5 Fwy, was a house that had miniature train tracks around it, I never saw any trains though.

I've seen smaller ones go for $10,000, just the engine, i am aware of several that cost between $5000 and $6000, but a few of those are nonoperational, or in need of cosmetic work, plus maintenance is a huge issue. These, like the full size ones, require a crap load of maintenance, and can blow up when improperly maintained, if you know what your doing, and you actually do it, plus you inspect the locomotive thoroughly, you should be fire, unless you run out of water in the boiler.
All that track out there in the front yard for the taking after dark! Great scrap value on that stuff. Excellent prank for Halloween! CASH for the the scrap track!
Any chance of more footage of this very awesome setup? Would love to see more of it! These are skills I wish I had, as that locomotive looks very scale, as well as the cars!
I would love to have him next door to me. At least he is doing something positive and building something. My neighbors are all renters, between the drug dealing, all night parties, and high turn over due to eviction, a little toot-toot of a train horn would be great change of pace from the freak show here.
I bet it costs some hard cash too lol Either this guy's a big shot for RR or they just have a lot of $$ lying around lol, it's cool, very realistic or real, my grandson would love it!
What a great video! Thank you for sharing. Anymore videos of this? How much does something like this cost? Where can I buy this train scale, tracks etc..?
There is newer footage of the train linked in the video description. I'm not sure what something like this costs, my dad built it himself. I don't know much about buying outright, but Google RMI Railworks to get started.
Absolutely AWESOME cars!! And locomotive of course, but the cars! Wow! Can those size locomotives operate remotely? How about steam, can that be remote?
This is really cool. Is your Dad a machinist? I come to Casper once or twice a year. I've seen the track and train cars but never seen it running. I'd love to see it run when I'm in town.
Really cool video. Where would you even go to buy something like this? Would love to have something like this in my yard. I wouldn't even know where to start
The engine and almost every car look so worn down and grimy and absolutely gorgeous!
yeah...very authentically weathered. !
All the cars were scrapped except the stock car. They were over 50 years old. New train on new video.
That's too bad I think they looked great
@@charlese4680 if I wanted to buy a set for my back yard would you be able to make one for me.
Your Dad is a very talented machinist and modeler. Exceptional work!

ScoutCrafter and the adults probably hate it
Kids are stupid and annoying and poorly disciplined degenerates these days. They aren't allowed on the property.

Very realistic sounding whistle. Nice train.
i bet your popular with the nebours lol
hey a dog cool!
They love it, and hang around the shop to watch the machining. Two or three for coffee every morning.
wow 2 or 3 in the morning isn't that kind of early?, event i don't get up that early.
The train don't matter. The whistling though gets really old after a couple weeks.
Awsome stuff, now the greatest part of the train beside the steam locomotive, is the dog in the cattle car!
Great!I'll bet not everyone loves the whistle 🤣I grew up with it on Jersey coast line.He must have a ton of money to do that.Beautiful😊
My first thought is does it affect his property taxes......
We need more neighbors like this!
The only thing I am worried about is that he doesnt have planning consent for a an unfenced live steam railway right next to a public footway. Theres a big safety issue here.
I have viewed many hours of these scaled steam videos and yours is still by far my favorite!
My wife was getting really excited when we watched this video together. All that pulling power and torque. That's power!
Cool setup and I LOVE the whistle, but I'm surprised the neighbors haven't sabotaged it...seems a bit close and urban to have that commotion going on!

My aunt and uncle live across the street. It’s still there and it still runs, it’s really sick.
Does it still run today.
@@TrainBandit sure does, not often but definitely does.

Not sure. I don’t live where he does I live 4 hours away but when I go down there I always try and swing by.
Excellent! I'll come and play any time. I bet your Dad's neighbours just LOVE that whistle! LOL.
How can anyone not like this?
Just LOVE all that steam in winter scene!
Pure genius, probably could loose the whistle though. Poor neighbours
The whistle was used more in the video. We don"t use it that much.
Only kidding, it's a work of art. I love the realistic sound effects

Got to love that whistle!
That little 4-4-2 looks like a freight engine in stead of a passenger engine and that's awesome!
Boy I bet the neighbors love him
I have dreams at Christmas about this kind of stuff! Visions of sugar plums dance in my head.....
😉
wesolint me too! Lol

This is illegal and unsafe. The train runs right next to the footway. The track must be lifted and the railway scrapped to make it safe.
