  • First big mod on the 2017 CBR1000RR! Check out my tutorial on how to install cut-fairing frame sliders on the 17-20 CBR1000RR. I recommend cut-fairing sliders over no-cut sliders any day because they provide significantly stronger resistance to crash damage and will save your fairings from significant damage or annoying road rash. Read the reviews! It's a bummer having to cut/modify OEM fairing to install these but you'll be glad you did if you ever get in a crash. Fortunately these look great and don't ruin your aesthetics. Hey Biscuit Benny! I know you said you don't have the manual to confirm the torque specs for the engine bolt. Have you confirmed since then that it is 47 ft lbs? I have the same bike and can't find it anywhere online. Thanks for the video!

@@2Colossal6 Great question. I used 47 ft/lbs but have not been able to confirm it. I have had no issues yet!

Great video, inspired me to cut my fairings on my 2021. One thing I found useful when I did mine was threading in the slider/bolt periodically to check fitment. When I was like 75% there, I screwed the fairings back on the bike and finished dremel work from there.

That’s an idea but cut frame sliders will always have more structural integrity in a crash!

Biscuit Benny True but to cut them OEM fairings.... No way... I’ve fallen with no cut sliders and they did the trick

@@mambrake Yeah for sure, the decision to cut the OEM fairings took me awhile to get to.

Best looking frame sliders. Mine came with TREX ones but I love the look of the shogun. Might switch it out

And just like that you destroyed $750.00 worth of fairings that it was supposed to protect it.

Well cut-fairing sliders aren’t for everyone. I prefer them because they are much stronger structurally than non-cuts, but I understand your point.

Frame slider protect the frame and motor. We’ll worth it, especially if your bike sees track time. And some of us think they look good.
