Amazing, I was wondering this exact thing. I am eligible for ACCA, but to qualify I would need to translate my degree into English which costs more than enrolling in FIA and paying for just FFA FMA and FBT. I was nervous that down this route they would still ask me to take FA1/2 and MA1/2 before allowing me to transfer. You cleared that up!
So for anyone with a non-English degree it is not interesting to pay for degree translation for ACCA eligibility AND have to pass Applied Knowkedge anyway, instead you can just join FIA and pass the exact same 3 Applied Knowledge exams and transfer to Applied Skills without having paid for degree translation.
To be noted though, I think you do need to complete Foundations in Professionalism before transferring to ACCA - but that one is free!

You can take the examinations anywhere on the globe, all FIA papers (and LW in ACCA) can be taken remotely at home, invigilated with webcam and microphone by ProctorU. That's what I did, I am in France, ACCA does not exist here and is not recognised, yet I could take my exams and got awarded the diploma.
But can I still be able to get the exemptions as I have already qualified CA -IPCC if I chose the FIA route

Sir my son has scored 85 in accounts and 64 in English in his 12th grade so will he have to go through FIA route? I know this was 4 months ago but I was also confused so hopefully this helps someone new browsing this video... For FFA, FMA and FBT (it's been called FBT for some time now) you need to book exams from the course info page on the ACCA website and NOT from your student login. Yes it is confusing.

Yes, in the Foundations in Accountancy (FIA) route, only three papers are compulsory:
FA1: Recording Financial Transactions
MA1: Management Information
FAB: Accountant in Business
The remaining four papers (FA2, MA2, FFA, FMA) can be skipped if you progress directly to the ACCA Qualification after completing the compulsory papers and obtaining the FIA Diploma.
