I can't fathom just how many times I have been tempted to go back into this game. At one point I actually did but only to see that it was so different from the one I played in early 2010ish. I tried playing BDO and some other things but it just doesn't give off that nostalgic feeling like L2. Thank you for your videos. I guess I'll wait for project TL and see how it goes.
I escaped that game. Not playing it at the moment, and if I do its only as a free player. I still love the game because its the first MMO I've experienced. Its sad to see it in this state :(
i stoped playing almost 10 years ago same problems back then its sad that people are still waiting for this game to get better.. i just never logged back in
i'm just glad i got to have some fun with the game before things got really bad. i remember shortly after the fafurian update, on my last day i was venting to a friend i had there. he said what basically boiled down to "i know the game is bad and it's hard and all but it always gets better" then i downloaded bdo and never looked back. if nothing else at least i can say l2 was my first mmo.
Yep there’s a lot of better games out there. BDO. GW2. FF14. All options that do everything and much more than L2. No matter what your jam is in game each one does it better than L2.
Lineage 2 personally is my favourite game, and I have hud ton of fun playing it as a child. I used to play it with my dad almost everyday and we will get excited when we saw new updates. But there was one massive problem we had. The problem was that when I have to kill some mobs, people steal them and I cannot get a single kill. I remember playing for a long time trying to kill something but there's people everywhere stopping me from killing the enemies.
@@EviLLivEClan Mostly because of the auto kill option. I do believe the reason the auto kill was added, because quests were only about the killing, which makes the game in my opinion, very boring, because for a game to be exciting, the quests should be fun and creative, not only about killing mobs all day, and everyday. The game seemed more fun back in the day, because some quests were creative and the game seemed more fun in my decision.
Man i experienced like this with other game totally different in apearence, "cs go", and i think that a lot of games are a possible addiction, simple as that
Hey Clob buddy, I know it's a couple of days ago but still welcome back! It's good to see you and I can agree no more about what you think about this game. It's more than over to play it today but there's always the same reason why we cant totally forget about this game.
Indeed. I’m most certainly not back to the game. Back to content creation though. I still have a desire to help others in games. So I’ve moved to Final Fantasy 14. L2 is done as a whole for me. Official or Private. It’s the same thing over and over. Nothing more to offer me now.
I was addicted. 4 sho. It’s almost like quitting drugs. If you can make it 3 days without logging in you will almost completely forget about it. Unless your in a bunch of l2 discord servers.
There’s a line right? And that line can be different for all people. If it affects your daily life or relationships yes it’s crossed the line I believe.

The game that was going to be Lineage 3 is called "Throne and Liberty", is coming out soon. It's not a fixed camera anymore and has a full camera movement 3d
It's not an addiction unless your chasing the top spot which you shouldn't be. Otherwise it's just a game play and have fun. Lost ark is similar. Sure you can whale but you don't need to in l2. Yeah you won't be doing pvp and like maybe some of the highest tier stuff but it doesn't really matter.
Interesting take on it. I don’t fully agree on it since I think people can still be addicted without chasing the top spots but chasing more gear and more gambling. Thanks for your thoughts on it.
@@Clobberstomped I absolutely agree though people can get addicted, but even if l2 is mostly just an afk game millions of people play those games. If you enjoy it and don't let the cash shop take over and or you just have stupid money to speed and that's what you enjoy then so be it. Almost all these style of games are designed that sure you want the best, but you almost never need it to do the content. Sometimes you have to grind up to at least the mininum level, but usually the mininum level is something any f2p can get to eventually just playing the game and it's usually a pretty low bar.
L2 was never an addiction to me but i quit way before it became that much p2w, what hooked me up to the game was the party based pvp which i still think it did way better than any other mmo out there, just look at how another sandboxy mmo like archeage did it's pvp with a blop of 50 vs 50 which was never fun and feels like 2 hordes are smashing each other with very little actual strategy and structure but a party in l2 felt like a unit that everyone mattered. Do i believe that people should keep on playing the current itteration of l2? Short answer is ofc not since the barrier to entry is too high and the game has been handled like a cash cow for like a decade already, just let it die and force ncsoft to respect it's audience and not use every predatory monetization practice in the books.
I disagree with the best pvp out there. I will say they were the first to do it on a bigger scale but it haven’t aged well to be perfectly honestly. GW2, BDO and FF all do it better in my opinion. I know many still love it however. The barrier of entry is super high I agree. That doesn’t keep people from playing and what they consider “investing” or wasting if I’m calling it haha. The game just didn’t age as well as it could have.
@@Clobberstomped unfortonatly the pvp in bdo isn't all that good at high levels. certernly better than l2 but it's rather unbalanced with the "class of the month" metas that force the dedicated pvp'rs into playing certien things and rerolling when the meta changes again. now at lower levels and if you know how to actually fight it can be quite fun.
Are you saying I’m addicted? That comes off that way. I’ll disagree with you. Most of my motivation in L2 was for views to be perfectly honest. Believe it or not hehe.
I tried playing the "new" L2. But its just not for me. I don't want to invest so much money knowing it wont be enough and it will be for nothing. I really loved your content about the game and it always gets me hyped for it. But I'd rather play some C4 server for couple of days do some PVP, give my brain that nostalgic feeling and then leave. I'm looking forward to your new videos. But to be completely honest with you FF14 is bit too chatty for my taste. Just too much lore for my taste. I understand that there are players that enjoy and seek that and I support them. Its just not for me. Anyways have a great day Clobberstomp !
Yeah I realized reading out loud isn’t a good thing for many so I’m not going to be doing that anymore. I’ve finished the MSQ so now it’s only going to be raids, dungeons. Crafting. Gathering. How tos. Stuff like that.
I'm not sure why this comes to anyone as a surprise. Official L2 servers had almost always been p2w and started as p2play. Private servers became more popular than official because there, you had fun, and your work was rewarded with better gear than those who couldn't keep up with you, whereas on ncsoft servers you could spent a month farming and a donator would just 1 shot you regardless. That being said, if you like the game, why don't you just play private servers here and there for fun ? There are low/mid/high rates for every taste.
But why? What reason is there to continue to play this game in any fashion whatsoever? What else does the game have to offer that you haven’t already experienced?
@@Clobberstomped I mean some people just enjoy the game's PVP. Let's be honest, 1 thing ncsoft did right was the combat of this game on early chronicles (c3 up to maybe H5). For the same reason people enjoy playing league of legends or CS for so many years. Nothing much really changes in those games, it's a pretty much repetitive 30-60 minute 5v5.
