Superb! Love Sri Lanka. And the food is delicious 😋 excellent upload!! Train journey all part of the adventure 😆 incredible scenery. Excellent safety advice at the end too 👍🏻👍🏻
Thank you 😊 it was an awesome journey!
Welcome back. I hope you will visit Dunhinda Falls as well
Unfortunately I didn't have a lot of time, but for sure we'll be back in Sri Lanka!
Even for locals, Colombo to Ella or Badulla is always a treat. We start in the morning and by the time it reaches the end (even though it's a long ride) climate is Cool.
Such a beautiful journey! Worth the time I think 😊
I will be headed on this exact same Ella Odyssey route in March, and this video is a timely one to reassure me of my purchase. Safe travels!
Glad it was helpful!
Amazing video and useful for any travers. You find it very well. Thank you mate. Enjoy the journey.
Glad you enjoyed it. Thanks for the support
@@WhereNextFamily my pleasure 😇 hope to see more
It'd developing rapidly and full.of friendly people and nothing is overpriced.will visit one day
Yes it’s an awesome country
Sri Lankan red trains basically carried out office people to colombo and outside to colombo 😊
Thanks for the explanation 👍
when i was sri lanka i travel colombo to jaffna around 8 hours
I think it depends on the train and the day. This one stops a lot as its a tourist train 😊
This is good one.. Thanks..
Glad you liked it!
We did too it was just awesome and stunning
Amazing journey!
sri lankan trains cant go fast bcz its mountainous area , so have to go slowly and carefully , thats why it take more time than colombo to jaffna which is 400 km distance , but it takes just 8 hours,
colombo to badulla is just 300 km s but take 11 hours bcz of mountains
It was an amazing journey! Didn't feel like 11hrs 🙂
Welcome to Sri Lanka 🇱🇰 ❤❤
Thank you 🙏
@WhereNextFamily
❤
according to my experience , colombo to jaffna LOCAL trains more modern and better than this TOURIST train😂
Cool. I'll have to try some other train journeys 🙂
What an intro 😆😄
🙌🏼
Thanks a lot 👍 Are there also local food vendors in Odyssey or local people or only tourists?
The train is for everyone. The food they serve is also local food 😋
Welcome back to sri lanka ..enjoy beautiful sri lanka
Thank you 😊
Impressive..❤🥰👍
Thanks 🤗
Superb ❤️❤️❤️
Thanks 🤗
Interesting journey!
Thanks 😊
You have spent less than a typical Srilankan.good buget trip✨️
Yes it was very good value
You need to get the reserved seats. There is a reserved cabin.
Yes all the seats were reserved ones on this train. It was very good 👍
Actually if you are traveling like this on a train specially long hours.. You should carry some snacks.. Drinks and foods with you.. Even if its take 8,10 hours it would be fun if you go to places like that with a group of people ..this is what usually locals do. They bring foods and travel as groups ..bring music instruments sing dance sleep and have lots of fun during the train journey
Yes, I did have snack and drinks with me. It was just a bonus that they sell them on the train as well 👍
❤ it bro
Thank you 😊
❤❤❤❤
❤️❤️
make sure you pay the right amount for the ride they might try to charge you more pay the exact amount
Yes I paid the ticket price but then a "fee" on top as tickets were "sold out" 🤣
THE USUAL STORY.! SOLD OUT! BULLSHIT. they are scamming us all, locals too.! 😡

Hi
Hi!
Need more videos from Sri Lanka
More coming! 🙏
Sometimes lucky if they run at all
Industrial actions by unions are notorious
Sounds like the UK 😉
I know there was alotta political upheavals a few years back but has there been alotta repercussions to tourists?
BTW only TWO coffees?
Their tourism was affected pre-covid due to some political issues, the covid kind of levelled the playing field for a lot of countries.
Now (from what I understand) the new president seems to be very good at getting the country back on track in terms of tourism and economics. Most people I spoke with were very happy about him
Also yeah I'm on a budget 🤣
@@WhereNextFamily Stay safe brother.
Even in Norway the trains don't run on time 🙄🤔😂🤣🤣🤣 so Sri Lanka is excused 😳🤔😂🤣🤣🤣
🤣 in the UK they run on time...when they aren't cancelled or the staff on strike 🤣
so Agents buy and keeps ticket to sell it to tourist for a higher price...someone should do a dark side of Sri Lanka.
It actually seems to be the workers at the station that buy them.
I'm sure the agent gets a cut too but it's a kind of open secret that you have to get the ticket on the "black market"
country is full of corruption and everyones needs a cut...thats da reality..only few can help you genuinely in this country....hope you enjoy your journey safely.
To be honest, this is the case with many countries in both Asia and Africa (where we spend most of our time).
The problem is complex and something that can only be solved from the Top down.
I would also add that so called "developed countries" aren't exactly free of corruption. Its just hidden a bit more
By the way you shouldnt travel at all. If every single small thing bothers you this much.
What did I say bothered me? Did you watch the video??
slowest train in the world, you could Walk to ella for that time😅,im sorry for our bad infrastructure, shows how corrupt our third world countries are, everything is mismanaged, this is the only train where most tourists go for, but the local authorities never even give a thing about time, ella train ride is another marketing scam
Personally I enjoyed it. I've been on much worse trains over the years 😊
