I just changed my hydro fluid. Just fellow the instructions. Be sure and purge out all the air before you try driving it on the ground. And the engine oil change is easy. On the hydro transmissions you have 2 filters. You put the mower on a jack and remove the filter covers then the filters. If you look up at the top of the transmissions you will see plugs that screw out. The plugs have o rings on them. With the plugs out you can now remove the filters from the transmissions. Oil will drain out. After draining you can put the oil filters on by hand, hand tight. Now put your filter covers back on. Now use a little pump that screws into a 5 Quart jug of 20W50 full synthetic engine oil. You fill each transmission until oil drains out the plug holes. Now put the plugs back Into the transmissions. Now with the mower still off the ground start the engine and move the control's forward and backward several times. Do it several times..now you can add fluid to each fluid tank. Don't add to much fluid yet you still Will have some air in the system. You can let it sit over night. Don't drive it on the ground until both hydro tanks are at the lower cold mark's and you don't see anymore air bubbles showing in them. Each hydro transmission holds a little over 2 quarts of 20W50 synthetic engine oil. Hustler, gravely,cub cadet, SCAG all sale there own hydro oil. But you read you manual under fluid recommend fluid you will see 20w50 engine oil is used. I bought a 5 gallon bucket of ultra plus full synthetic for my mower. It's a Hustler Fas trak 54 inch. My transmissions or ZT 3200.. your transmission is a zt 3100 transmissions. The 2200,28000,3100,3200,3400,3600,4400 all use 20w50 oil. I've already changed my hydro fluid. You can watch utube videos on how to change the transmission fluid. You really don't need but a small amount of tools. A oil filter rinch and some sockets. A note to remember when draining the fluid measure the amount you have drained out. When you refill the transmission put the same back into the transmission.
At least they drove it up on your trailer I didnt even get that lol. Couple of things to note... CHECK THE TORQUE ON YOUR LUG NUTS. If they work loose which happened to mine you will have to put it in the shop and have a new wheel, tire and shaft replaced in the hydro, just double check it will save headaches. Always clean your air filter after each use with a blower, no need to remove filter every time when cleaning. Get a sponge pre filter for the air filter. This mower does not have the commercial air cleaner so stay on top of the one you got and you should be just fine. When you fill up with gas use a fuel treatment that comes in a blue clear bottle, cant remember the name but it neutralizes the ethanol in gas. Become familiar on how to engage and disengage the hydros. Make sure the levers under the machine are push all the way in and when you need to push the machine learn how to pull the levers out and lock them. Mine came from the dealer half pulled out. Your drive leavers are tied into your parking brake, if you set the parking brake and get off the machine and hold on to the leavers you could loosen your parking brake, just be careful with that. Also if you are on an incline and notice your parking brake not holding take the parking brake leaver and engage and disengage it several times and it seems to reset it and make it hold stronger. One last thing if this dealer is this bad they probably did not do a pre inspection of your Gravely. Do some of the things I mentioned above and check it over good. Check to see if the air cleaner is loose, check your blades, check your lug nuts and Torque, check hydro oil levels when machine is cold, study owners manual, check engine oil and tightness of oil filter by hand, check gas lines, ... check every thing. Dealers have become lazy and they just want the machine out of their shop. Happy Mowing.
I've had mine (same model) for six years. Absolutely no problems with the Kohler 7000 25 horse. I don't know what people are passing around but I have seen no evidence of any problems. Runs and starts great summer and winter. I use it on 1 1/2 acres with some wild areas and use it to tend my raised beds with a trailer hauling dirt and stuff. I also have 3 gravely from the 60's with Kohler and they run great. I bought this because it is much faster for just mowing and the others have attachments for plowing, bush hog, tiller and such.
Great video, stick to your guns about that sorry stealership, I've had a car stealership like this once, 2 yrs later, out of business. Generally, what goes around comes around. I bought a new mower last week, thinking it had no fuel in it, went to gas station to fill up (holds 13 gallons) and it only took 1 gallon, should have checked the guage, the dealership had filled the tank. I just bought one and I'm picking it up tomorrow. First dealer I went to gave me a price of $6299. Went back the next day and was told $6399. I told him to put a hold on it and I would talk to my salesman on Monday. After leaving I was looking at the paperwork and noticed it was a 2021. So the salesman called Monday morning asking when I wanted to pick it up? I asked what year it was and he wasn't sure, I already knew the answer. After a few minutes, he tells me it's a 2021, but that it didn't matter because it's the same machine. After telling him that it's not the same, I asked if they were going to reduce the priceof it? Of course he said no, so I went to another dealer that had the new 2022 model, and got it for a few hundred dollars less. It's amazing that dealers will either willingly try to rip you off, or they don't know the product that they are selling.
I just bought a 2022 model today, With the 52" X factor deck which is Now the standard upgraded deck from 2022 and newer.. reading your post made me happy, My price was $5900.
follow your maintenance schedules, that mower will make you proud...if I may suggest, after you "hose"down your machine, blow it off with your leaf blower... especially under the seat and battery area... good luck!! ... 36 yrs Lco retired... :)
Man I feel you, I’m here in Smithfield, Virginia. I have a 52” HD and I just brought 36 inch pro stand. Very bad experience from the dealers no gas in a $10,000 unit!😢
I’m in Smithfield too. Did you buy from powerhouse? Mowers are so expensive now I’ve been going back and forth on brands but I think a good dealer is the most important thing.
Just got the ariens iKon 52 and I'm loving it! My yard isn't the biggest but with my old mower it would take about 45 minutes to mow. I'm literally itching for the grass to grow back! It took 15 minutes to cut my yard and I didn't get my zero turn fix, I feel like a grass cutting junky🤦🏾♂️

Actually one of the best purchases I ever made....the only thing I suggest is to check the lug nuts and make sure for yourself that they are tight I had 3 come lose and lost them. Had to get them replaced. Other than that I wash mine after each time to keep it nice. I really love it and I'm sure you will be very pleased. Gravely is real quality ..congratulations
I just bought a 260 with the 31 HP . so far it has 14 hrs on it and I love it. Now this is my first zero turn, I mowed with a sub compact tractor 60 inch deck and it took me 7-8 hours to mow my property. Now it's about 4-5 hours with the zero turn. You'll like it. And dude, my mower takes 13 gallons so $50 or a bit more to fill it up. My dealer topped off both tanks, when I only expected 1/2 a tank or so.

Gravely is a brand I rarely see around here in East Texas. We have Hustler, Skagg, Toro, Big Boy, Ferris and John Deere. Years ago Gravely used to be a popular commercial product back in the late 80s, 90s and early 2000s. Gravely from what I am seeing seems to be pushing towards residential customers these days. I'd be interested in knowing how their quality and performance stands in 2024 vrs 30 yrs ago.
It's sad to hear about your experience with the dealer. Personally, when I now receive any nice treatment from a business, I almost fall over from the experience--I've become accustomed to not expecting it. And I always compliment them on being nice.
I have been looking at these and the almost identical ariens apex. Not sure why you paid extra for the seat isolators since they came with it standard on the zt hd.

Have a 2021 Ariens Apex 52 and a 2022 Ariens Zenith 60, very happy with both but the Zenith is a step up, stronger engine, more torque from the hydro gear, and a wider deck of course. I bought an Ariens 52 inch a month ago and they delivered it to my house and it only had enough gas in it to start it up. I bought it from Lowes and was very happy with the service. Not so happy with Aries customer service they must have the dumbest people on the planet working there. I only needed some accessories but those people didn't have a clue about anything.
I would push a John Deere before I bought a Gravely l had 7 Gravely mowers that you could take anywhere without breaking down good luck with your new mower my friend 👍
