There is something to be said for a car that doesn't need to wrap an air draper after a run. Well done Alex and Lucky you crack me up always a good time.
Alex, that was a seriously awesome race between you and that BelAir. You treed him both times, but he reeled you in at the end. Those are the kind of races I like to see. Way to go girl!
This is one of the coolest, real drag race cars. Especially, with that wonderful old steel body on it. GM made the Power Glide 2 speed automatic transmission from 1950 to 1973 with some variations. Back then they were not very desirable as many were using the GM dual range Hydromatic 4 speed automatic transmission, built up by B&M.
Love Alex on Hot Rod Garage with Lucky Costa, wish Motor trend would dedicate their own UA-cam Channel for HRG that you don't have to pay more for, not coughing up more dough for media, forget it! Also I refuse to do any other social media as a 68 year old dude, gotta draw a line, NO to F.B., X, Instagram, etc, etc, just NO. Alex is Beautiful, charming, and funny! Total Rockstar. Lucky is great as well! Great team.
You need to check out flat Rock speedway in flat Rock Michigan and their figure 8 track. Have you ever raced on a figure 8 track or seen a race like this? It's very interesting!
Never ever smack a damper on with any kind of hammer you can reset the thrust bearing and that will start hurting the engine, I did not think they would show that but they did.
In this day and age why would you want a Powerglide when you can put a turbo 400 or a multi-speed like the Hellcat has ? Aren't you giving up some performance?
Trans with more gears are more suited to engines with very narrow "peaky" power bands. The multi gears keeps them in their sweet spot. With an engine like this with a broad power band doesnt matter as much.
@@keithcieplinski well, she lost and you may be right about the short track but I think one more gear would have helped... I guess the difference would have to be analyzed, I was originally thinking quarter mile.
@@andretorben9995 wouldn't you think that keeping any engine in its power band would be an advantage if you let the transmission do the work? It's well-known that the Hellcat is not peaky but has massive torque yet it still has multiple gears . I think what the other guy said about it being a short track might have some Merit to it. I was originally thinking it was quarter mile...
I like Alex, but I keep seeing her working on cars with rings and bracelets on. It's setting a bad example. Plus if she keeps it up someday she might lose a finger or a hand.
@@TwoWheeledTon I have never noticed Lucky's watch, but it's the same thing. I know a lot of married guys went to wearing the silicone rings to avoid having fingers and hands torn off. A lot of professional people that work with rotating equipment take off their jewelry while working to avoid accidents. Guys or girls shouldn't matter, safety matters.
I remember Dulcich explain the Mopar 6-speed not be good for drag type shifting ,as an reasion that all the participants in the special roadkill night Mopar competition seemed to be fighting with the shifting. The slipper clutch was also an disadvance for the type of competition, since it need a lot of cooling time between runs, to not burn up.
I don't mean to be disrespectful....wow what a girlfriend to have !! I am really impressed with your ability...thank you for posting your life and amazing abilities!

Now that was a close race. Alex did great. She is always quick on the start. Good Job.
Lucky and Alex are hosts I would continue to watch! More shows with them please!!

Miss Tony but Alex is also a excellent match with Lucky. I never miss an episode. Keep on truckin!
Good hosting vibe between the 2 of you.
These puppies are sick😅😂❤Hilarious
You know how wheels premium put this 1955 Plymouth savoy in hot wheels boulevard for 2024❤❤❤
I just got the hot wheels boulavard of that EXACT savoy and livery
Just got 3 of the Hotwheels of this!
Talk about giving the hit.

sick!
Alex is an amazing woman!!
Like the nails❤
Why can’t the Holley support the stock engine features, maybe try a Hal tech or similar?
lol they have a hotwheels premium model of it i have one it said 807hp on the hood i figured hellcat
So what your really saying is she's no Ronny Sox.
Never ever smack a damper on with any kind of hammer you can reset the thrust bearing and that will start hurting the engine, I did not think they would show that but they did.
Why not change the camshaft?
Make sure the torque converter will go into the crank without hitting the pilot bushing...
She is a woman looking good is all that matters’’
Poor Lucky.
In this episode: We try to see how many times we can say Alex Taylor.
Alex is the real deal. I've seen her wrenching under her 55 a number of times at drag n drives. She's a credit to the world of drag racing.
I have turned off watch history. 😊
I just threw up a little in my mouth when taking out a stick and putting in an automatic!
Automatic transmission....GAH!
Don’t forget, go fast and be pretty
Hot weels caco un carro de este auto igual
the one show on mt i dont watch, dei must end.
✌😚👍
In this day and age why would you want a Powerglide when you can put a turbo 400 or a multi-speed like the Hellcat has ? Aren't you giving up some performance?
Powerglide is lighter, simpler, wastes less power, and it's a short track. You don't need to waste time with more shifts.

Just wait until a finger with a ring on it becomes part of a short circuit, like I did!
@@jims6323 Happened to Johnny Cash too. He said "And it burns, burns, burns, The ring of fire, the ring of fire."
The jewelry can be an issue with welding but general building is really up to the builder. I notice you don’t have an issue with Lucky’s wrist watch.
@@TwoWheeledTon I have never noticed Lucky's watch, but it's the same thing. I know a lot of married guys went to wearing the silicone rings to avoid having fingers and hands torn off.

Saw that too and thought the same thing
Couldn't make it past the tick tick tick of the background
This car is not safe!!
poo on the powerglide
Lol.
Ewww they really put a automatic in the savoy 🤦🏻♂️ i guess alex can't drive a mansmission the 3rd pedal confuses her 😂😂
They explained in the video why the manual wouldn’t work in the drag race competition.
She's a member of the 200 mph club. How about you? :)
Well, considering the fact that she won her race by driving that manual transmission, yeah, I guess you’re right, she can’t run a stick shift. 🙄
