So I've been a musician forever, but have always had trouble with music theory. How do you figure out what the number of your chords is? Thanks!! This is sick!
Great question!
There are 7 chords in a scale before it repeats.
For example, in CMaj the chords are: Cmaj, Dmin, Emin, Fmaj, Gmaj, Amin, Bdim
These are converted into roman numerals. If the chord is major then the roman numeral is in uppercase, and if its minor or diminished then the roman numeral will be lowercase.
So the roman numerals for CMaj are: I, ii, iii, IV, V, vi, vii (1 ,2 ,3 ,4 ,5 ,6 , 7)
