- You can now get the Lamborghini Huracan in more than one guise. Not only is there the standard, four-wheel drive coupe (the LP610-4), but there's the Huracan Spyder and the rear-wheel drive LP580-2!

The 580-2 is stunning and looks much nicer than the 610 styling wise. And the 580-2 from every review seems like the car Lambo should have came out with in the first place. I would take a Huracan over a 488 any day of the week.
I agree with you about the RWD Lambo that car is incredible and fun to play with. but i'd take the Ferrari 488 GTE track version road legal

Yup, front bumper of 580-2 is from 2011.

Or because volkswagen, much as i love them, probably said "here are two lambo's. talk nicely about zem. no overshteer, we are a brand about understeer. Turning zee wheel vile nuzzink happenz is our MESSAGE!" and then threw them the keys. Probably monitored that they didn't turn the traction or stability control down one bit, either

I feel like the difference between the two could have been down to the options, not necessarily due to the model. For example, magneto rheological suspension and dynamic steering affect the feel quite a bit. The sports exhuast can make it louder.

Huracan has slowly improved overtime from 2014 to 2017. looks nicer now
RWD for me, I actually just saw a white one at a restaurant I was just at for dinner an hour ago and it as stunning as I first saw one when they came out. Sadly out of my price range, back to my BMW 3 series ...
i guess every Lamborghini enthusiast struggled to like the huracan when it was launched...it wasn't a fitting replacement for the Gallardo...and all the reviews said it understeerd a lot and wasn't exciting enough...but now when you see the 488, 650 or a turboS this seems so much better, looks mad of course and with that crackling exhaust it is just magnificent👌 and i too prefer the 580 over the 610...still not sure about which looks better...but one thing is sure the 580 offers the same thrills if not more as the 610 for a lot less..so yea kudos Lamborghini for making such a brilliant piece of machine🙌
The huracan spyder had comfort seats and the 580-2 had racing seats. And from what I have experienced and also seen in videos, it makes a lot of difference. So I don't think there is a difference in the ride quality, maybe I am wrong though.

The coupé has the sportsexhaust, it has the black exhaust tips. The spyder has the standard exhaust, that is probably why the coupé is a touch louder
I would take the 580 but not in red, it’s a Lambo not a Ferrari

People also need to realize that with a 4 wheel drive car you lose about %5 more power to the wheels through the drivetrain, which would net about 30hp or the difference between the two. Probably why Steve feels that the 580 is a little bit quicker.
Honestly this car is an amazing deal for that price of 150-200k, compared to a 500k aventador
610's front is better looking than the 580's

Great review, as always by Steve. I imagine a Huracan LP580-2 Spyder is the best of both worlds. I'd buy one over a 488 or a 650S without a moment of hesitation.
What happened to the unadjustable understeer in the LP610-4? And the traction control taking power away which would make it possible to adjust it right when you needed it? Remember your first launch review of the coupe? You were not best pleased.

I am genuinely interested to know the difference in handling... the spyder for the look plus more weight is subjective to personal taste and the difference in power can easily be overcome by ecu tunes.... but does a rwd lambo v10 , which has always been awd for the most part, perform better than a Ferrari rwd.

Then it was tested as a nice but understeered car but now...now everyone thinks the world of it.
Personaly I think its the best looking car out there, but only with the right color lika green, black n blue.
I like steve because he reviews supercars and compare them to supercars. A sportscar should have focus on handling, more so than power. But supercars should be really flambouant and crazy. We all know these understeer, but Id prefer a safe fucking fast car when im not a racing driver!
Chris S that's the thing though, look at other reviews , the AWD o e does underteer badly but the RWD doesn't at all almost. Other reviews say not only is this no comparison, the RWD one is the best car the brand makes today. Full stop.
I"ve seen one of these twice now in a week and they're good looking but i thought when i would eventually see one i would have a "wow" reaction but i didn't. Those cars definitely stood out but maybe because of the internet i'm use to seeing them now?
The 580-2 is louder because it has the sports exhaust system. You can tell from the black tailpipes
the coupe lp580 has sport exhaust system thats why it feeels louder than lp610 with factory stock exhaust

not sure why they reduced the power in the 580-2... 610 isn't that much more for traction reasons
If they've put the same power to the rear wheel drive version it would be faster around tracks and in straight line and who knows if faster than the upcoming superleggera. They wanted to introduce a more circuit/weekend race car but they want to sell the 4wheel drive version more. I think it is for security reason for customers that don't know how to drive properly (sadly majority of Lamborghini and other manufacturers customers)
I love both, love the rawness of the 'original'. But Spyder all the way.

Stiggy37 Yeah usually convertibles ruin the curves of the car (take Jag F Type for example, looks much better as a coupe). But for some reason to Huracan looks better as a Spyder.

Um the interior does not feel cheap at all and only the 610 understeers hence the reason why everyone is going nuts over the 580.

Different cars meant for different purposes. The Ferrari is more refined, subtle. The Lambo is in your face. The RWD is a better car.

Steve is for skids too but I must say he's more objective (just), when the Huracan was released it was set up with too much inherent under steer, it wasn't that long that Lamborghini quietly revised a few things including some chassis set up changes the improved the steering. They did this "quietly" because they didn't want to be seen too much admitting they stuffed it up the first time.
I really don't like the Huracan's looks. I'd prefer the R8.

i dunno, i'm not a fan of overpowered rwd cars. at most 500hp. above that i'd always go for the awd version, if available.
i don't even need more than 200hp to stay sideways on a rwd anyway, since i only do it on dirt roads.

and yep, not impressed by the laf. was the best on paper but in the end it was just the most expensive and slowest of "the three". my favorite is the awd one, unsurprisingly.
