Talking about McBride, when I saw the Benny Green trio live at North Sea around '91 - '92, Christian McBride played so hard he broke his A-string. And of course, Benny then featured him in the next tune - which they were going to play in A... Needless to say, Christian McBride rose to the challenge brilliantly. LOVE the groove on this one, BTW.
Oh this is great stuff, He used to come to colo to play at Sonnie suttons jazz parties, also up in snowmass colo. I have both his cds recorded in germany, fantastic playing. They are a little hard to find, but get them if you can.
Sound came through the ameture camera guy,not from the sound soundcraft we always used,Ahmad Jamal,Monty Alexander,Mulgrew Miller,Alvin Queen,Cyrus Chesnut,Chano Dominguez ,Bebo Valdes, Michel Camilo,Gerald Clayton,Kenny Garret,James Carter,Robert Thomas Jr, and they loved the sound, always trying to get the closest to acustic as we could.Shame to hear this recording ,was a fantastic concert,Benny IS playing like hell, saw him not long ago.... beautiful💙
THe piano is indeed slightly annoying... the sound guy must have done a crap job. It should be a bit more subdued cuz it drowns out the sax, and that jus aint right. Otherwise very well done ;)
Benny is one of the hardest swingin' jazz pianists out today.
Benny Green is one of the most talented musician and I am very surprised of his scarce representation on youtube. Please, post more of his music
I strongly agree with you

Taht's Carl Allen on the drums, john webber at the bass fiddles, and Harry Allen at the sax.
They played two month after I saw them in Marciac.
nice solo from Benny
Harry Allen. Real deal.
Actually that's the fabulous Paul Sikivie more than holding his own on the bass fiddle!!!
Yeah Paul!
I stand corrected.
This groovy drummer is called Alvin Queen!
Harry Allen
Where is McBride on the Bass fiddle?
The trouble isn't with the pianist, it's with the sound engineer who had the levels mixed poorly.

Benny pounding the keys. Terrible
That's definitely not John Webber on bass
IS
@@maribelcanadas9366 No it’s 100% NOT John Webber, it’s Paul Sikivie
