I've watched it 10000 times, and each time I can take something else from it. In this instance, I realized that Strange gave up his only hope - the time stone - the only thing that could save Tony. He must have been so desperate, it's heartbreaking. If that time Tony didn't survive somehow, then all would be lost... No other chance to try as he wouldn't have the stone anymore.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but my interpretation of this was that Stephen and Tony met as detectives. Later, Tony killed himself in an attempt to defeat Moriarty. Stephen learns magic and finds him again, but Tony's a different person who has no recollection of his past life. They fight together against Thanos, and Stephen keeps imagining Tony as the Sherlock version. Stephen then creates a time loop and Tony dies over and over again. Eventually Stephen realizes that no matter what, Tony is destined to die and they'll never be together so he (turns back time? I'm not sure) and jumps when detective Tony originally did. There was no other way.
My intention is that two detectives are Stephen and Tony's past life. Stephen didn't know it until the time stone accidentally revealed it to him. Soon he met Tony in this life and gradually collected those memories from the past life. Later he created time loop again and again trying to save Tony but like in the past life the world could only be saved with Tony's sacrifice. Eventually Stephen had to accept their fate in this life but he made a personal and emotional choice to go down with Tony when detective Tony originally did.
This is brilliant! The part when he loses him again and again is so beautifully edited. I love how clever this is and I wish there was more dialogue between these two to help you give even more details to the story. Amazing edit! You've made me a shipper!
