I've never heard of guilty gear before and my introduction to this is a woman turning into an old man by playing an instrument. Can't get more anime than this.
To think Toei could have hire ASW for Super and they prefer to rely on that awful animation of theirs makes me mad. It's not like they had to create an entire new engine for the series, they could adapt this one perfectly and come out much better.
Strive is probably my favorite fighting game ever but I’ll say it: The weakest Xrd intro could beat the strongest Strive intro Really wish we had more intros like these or Chaos’ in Strive cause it cant be overstated how well these intros show off a character’s personality. I look at Sol’s intro in this game and go “Holy shit. This is a guy I don’t wanna mess with.” Then I look at his Strive intro and he just looks like he got lost on the way to McDonald’s
strive is a game marketed to scrubs, weebs, e-sports, and non-players who like watching montages or on twitch. they want skippable and quick intros and outros because they don't serve any competitive purpose. strive abolishes everything that made Guilty Gear what it is. Metal, instant kills, and a freneric gameplay that touches the boundaries of kusoge.
People can complain about Strive’s gameplay all they want, but when I look at how much personality Xrd had visually when you look at the UI / intros / outros that’s what makes me really sad when comparing the two.
I thought the intros changed to be more in-tune with how the characters had changed. Though I found out at some point that it was due to a lot of conditions that made developing the game strenuous. I've played both games, but Strive is the only one where I actively payed attention to the lore because the characters felt a little different. Don't get me wrong though I still miss the old intros, instant kills, etc... that* XRD had. Still play it every now and then just to see Elphelt and Dizzy actually. Edit: grammar fix
GG character designs are so goddamn awesome. Baiken, dizzy and ramlethal have some of the best female designs and sol, venom and Johnny have some of the best male ones
I love everything about Jam's aesthetic, her demeanor, her personality overall, but my god She has that voice at an 11 when I think we'd all be better off with it at a 5 or 6.

Technically yes. He's on the phone throughout the entire fight except for big moves where he puts whoever he's talking to on hold. He's even still holding it up to his ear when he gets knocked out.
