i think the theory of the sonic representing the time period is supported by the fact that the yellow version of the sonic was used on the two episodes that took place primarily in present day
Your the only other person I have found that noticed. I said the same on tharries and another breakdown of this trailer but none of them seem to mention this.
The way the scenes cut back and forth it looks like a third doctor. but the cut with Joy and the Doctor in the background examining the briefcase only shows one other doctor in the foreground. So still only two on screen at any time. I think they just put the cuts together out of order for the trailer and the Doctor just moved. It looks like two over here, cut to one more over there, and back to two over here - but it's really just out of order.
Totally possible I am wrong and your right BUT look at the pose of the doctor nearest portal door, it's very close to the pose if not the same as when you see both doctors, plus it's not a pose that looks like you would hold it long. But if I am wrong I admit I will feel foolish Christmas day.

The Tudor era looking guy, right next to that old TARDIS blue door... I cannot help but wish this is actually Christopher Barry's Doctor, seen in Brain of Morbius! The costume is almost identical too!
Given the 'Christmas. Everywhere. All at Once' line referencing 'Everything Everywhere all at once' and the 'Joy to the Worlds' tagline, I suspect we are in for parallel universes (i.e the 'many worlds interpretation') Maybe we're are seeing parallel universe Doctors in the trailer?
Even though steven Moffatt didn't always have the best Christmas episodes,(although my favourite is last Christmas), Boom showed he still has it for doctor who. I am really excited to see what happens and out of everyone I always preferred his stories, most of the time they are over complicated but they are fun.

1:10 Which will be really confusing for all the Paleolithic people, Neanderthals, Ancient Greeks, Romans, Chinese, Native Americans and a bunch of early hominids and Silurians. And that's if "everywhere" just means Earth.
2:46 So from what I understand, Smith's Doctor wore different bow ties that signified whether or not he was in the past or future, like red for past, blue for future. That's a theory but it might hold weight, a continued easter egg for DW. So if that's the case, the reason why Gatwa's Doctor has two different Sonic Screwdrivers makes sense.
Yeah I think you’re right about the red and blue being about the past and future. My friend also pointed out this was done in Moffats era in Matt Smiths era too. That 11s bow tie was always blue in the past and red in the future. Perhaps this is also why Capaldis Doctor changed his coat in series 10 a lot. Like in thin ice, eaters of light the lining is blue and those were the past and world enough and time/Doctor falls it’s technically the future and he’s back with red lining.

The glowy orange guy made me think of the Flux. my memory may be faulty (Goddess knows that happens) but the effect reminded me of the planets being destroyed by the Flux.

The hotel is a tardis or a vastly improved vehicle than the doctor's tardis. Where's the console room, well everywhere. The tardis here is vastly different from the old type the doctor has. This version is bigger on both the outside and inside. Circular patterns and colours are similar to the doctor's old outfits.
