Kodaikanal is a hill town in the southern Indian state of Tamil Nadu. It’s set in an area of granite cliffs, forested valleys, lakes, waterfalls, and grassy hills. At 2,000 meters above sea level, the town centers around man-made, star-shaped Kodaikanal Lake, bordered by evergreen forest. Rowing boats can be hired, and hikers and cyclists follow the 5k Lake Road path around the shore
Kodaikanal (Tamil: [koɖaɪkkaːɳal]) is a hill station which is located in Dindigul district in the state of Tamil Nadu, India.[2] Its name in the Tamil language means "The Gift of the Forest".[3] Kodaikanal is referred to as the "Princess of Hill stations" and has a long history as a retreat and tourist destination.

It is honestly difficult to choose one. All are great I feel. I would surely visit all of them one by one whenever possible if I hadn't visited.
Ooty and Kodai are quite similar. Climate, some pine trees in specific locations, the whole vibes and feel, etc.
Ooty however has better restaurants and cafes, and things to do within the town. Both are crowded during holidays.
There are some landscapes and areas in Ooty that offer open meadows kind of places.
      I personally Like Ooty more.
Had been to Munnar long ago. Munnar is slightly warmer compared to the other two due to its lower altitude (town). The nature and greenery are amazing though. Small streams flowing through the tea gardens look spectacular. Also, you can visit the highest peak of India outside of The Himalayas near Munnar.

@@theridgelinestories thanks a ton for the explanation but which should i pick for the winter ??
I believe all of above would be pretty chilled

I will suggest Ooty because when you visit Ooty you can also visit Kotagiri and Coonoor which are very close to Ooty in the Nilgiri hills itself. So you can spend more time there. Yes, they will be quite cold from sunset to sunrise. Usually clear skies with good sunshine in winter during the day.
