Ive watched a lot of tutorials and none of them, regardless of they are about, are this entertaining and easy to understand. I’m sitting here high as hell watching these for fun
You burned it man. The bottom of your pan should never look like you just fried bacon in it. Low and slow on the heat, and you won't have to strain brown bits out of your ghee.
I thought you were right too bud but his end product looked okay, can’t deny the burnt stuff in the coffee filter but it’ll be burnt sink milk solids he didn’t want that anyway
so glad I found this before I got in the kitchen and started adding regular butter and water together like so many other people out there say to do. lord. I knew there had to be a better way!
Thank you for this very simple explanation. I have done it before with regular butter and nograss-fed, so you answered that question. I had to redo my last batch as it was very runny. I don't think I cooked it long enough and I didn't double strain it. I believe this helped further. Thanks for helping me out on both accounts. God bless you.
Thanks so much...& if you didn't know, cheesecloth also works as a nice filter (I don't keep coffee filters around). This was really easy & I love to cook Indian, so no more worrying about ghee!
You're a fckng legend brother, ty a ton for your time and work on this vid, it's very helpful. I'm spending the day tomorrow taking some giant dabs, making cannabuter from scratch and brownies with that after, and chilling with some video games, and then a movie onece they kick in 🤣🤣 cheers man, good shit 💪👌
Hey man thanks for the vid. Quick question at 3:05 you say we’re gonna continue to cook this over a low heat. Do you mean turn it down from 5 at that point? Edit: turned down it 3.5 on my 10 dial at that point, once started seeing slight golden brown and on bottom of pan and foam gave it another min and took it off to strain. Happy with how it came out!
Whenever I've made cannabutter in the past the butter winds up clarifying itself so no need to do so beforehand. I use the double boiler method and have the water below the boiling point. It infuses the butter with the thc and clarifies the butter in the process. The one time I had to use salted butter the salt just crashed out into the bottom then I just washed the butter with water and refrigerated it.
Wrong...French chefs and others make ghee all of the time. Boil off the water or moisture then let it set until the solids separate then skim any off the top and then slowly pour off the clarified butter being careful to leave the solids in the bottom of the pot. If you want yo make ghee use a higher temperature to burn the milk solids. You drain off the clarified butter leaving behind the browned solids. This will give it the nutty flavor of true ghee. If you don't brown the solids enough to give it the nutty flavor you made clarified butter...not ghee.
So I'm doing this right now. You started on a medium heat and turned down low once you got the bigger bubbles. You then said turn down low, about how long on low did you wait till you strained? Am I a tiring this or just leaving and letting simmer?
thank you again for the super helpful video dude!! i wanted to ask, is it okay to use the ghee right after its done, like while its still melted? Im just impatient and wanna make my edibles fast lmao love ur videos !!
Got a new nicer vaporizer recently and have a ton of duff weed to make good use of, these vids have been extremely helpful. Used to make firecrackers but thats way too much work for larger quantities
So I’m baking a “thc infused pie” & the pie recipe calls for 1/2cup of butter ...I saw on another video to not replace your regular recipe butter with all thc butter, to only do half thc half regular so it’s not super strong..So my question is if I mix my clarified thc butter in my pie with the regular unclarified butter will it ruin the potency and fall apart or whatever the cons are to using unclarified butter? Or should it be okay
So what do you do with the 20% that you don't use? Do you just throw it away or can you cook with that because butter is expensive to be throwing 20% away
That's not butter that you're losing, that's the point. It's water and milk solids that you're losing. Not butter. That's the whole point of clarifying it. So that you have 100% butter fat. So you can buy clarified butter or clarify it yourself like this. And mam with all due respect. Every Walmart and grocery store has butter you can get 4 sticks for under $1. Butter is not expensive. Please stop it. If you want to do something, you need to do it right. Stop complaing and listen to what im teaching you.

1st off, dont do that again. ALWAYS use clarified or ghee butter. You've wasted alot of your THC. It doesn't have anything to bond to. It can only bond with fats. You've already wasted 75% of your THC. You can go ahead n make something with butter, you might still feel something but it could of been so much better and stronger
Bro I waited till I saw big bubbles ( I did only 2 butter sticks ) and I turned it low when you said you kept it on low and it just stopped bubbling lol and burnt 🥵
The THC dont have as much fat to bind to, meaning your butter will be weak, not potent at all, and will end up separating. If you going to do something. Do it the right way.
