    You burned it man. The bottom of your pan should never look like you just fried bacon in it. Low and slow on the heat, and you won't have to strain brown bits out of your ghee.

    Thank you for this very simple explanation. I have done it before with regular butter and nograss-fed, so you answered that question. I had to redo my last batch as it was very runny. I don't think I cooked it long enough and I didn't double strain it. I believe this helped further. Thanks for helping me out on both accounts. God bless you.

    Edit: turned down it 3.5 on my 10 dial at that point, once started seeing slight golden brown and on bottom of pan and foam gave it another min and took it off to strain. Happy with how it came out!

    Whenever I've made cannabutter in the past the butter winds up clarifying itself so no need to do so beforehand.
    I use the double boiler method and have the water below the boiling point.
    It infuses the butter with the thc and clarifies the butter in the process.
    The one time I had to use salted butter the salt just crashed out into the bottom then I just washed the butter with water and refrigerated it.

  • @trackmedixuk
    @trackmedixuk 3 роки тому +5

    Rule number 1, never stir butter while clarifying and you shouldn't boil it like this. You can see it's burnt 😔

    • @jameswilliford5478
      @jameswilliford5478 2 роки тому +2

      Wrong...French chefs and others make ghee all of the time. Boil off the water or moisture then let it set until the solids separate then skim any off the top and then slowly pour off the clarified butter being careful to leave the solids in the bottom of the pot. If you want yo make ghee use a higher temperature to burn the milk solids. You drain off the clarified butter leaving behind the browned solids. This will give it the nutty flavor of true ghee. If you don't brown the solids enough to give it the nutty flavor you made clarified butter...not ghee.

Or should it be okay

      That's not butter that you're losing, that's the point. It's water and milk solids that you're losing. Not butter. That's the whole point of clarifying it. So that you have 100% butter fat. So you can buy clarified butter or clarify it yourself like this. And mam with all due respect. Every Walmart and grocery store has butter you can get 4 sticks for under $1. Butter is not expensive. Please stop it. If you want to do something, you need to do it right. Stop complaing and listen to what im teaching you.

It can stay in a cabinet in a container for 8 months - year and be just fine. Theres not water in it to make it go bad. Thats one of the reasons I advise you to use ghee. Its all butter fat and none of the water and whey. The butter is fine. Dont overthink it

    Ok when do you use your magic butter machine? Once you clarify your butter, can you then add it to the magic butter machine? Because now I'm upset I bought a machine & you're doing it on the stove🤣😢

      @@Micky7213 I don't know anything about lactose free butter. If it still has butter fat then it "should" work. But like I said just use coconut oil, olive oil etc and you will be fine.

    Bro I like most of your videos but you got it wrong in this one. The problem is that you burnt the ghee. If you look at the bottom of your pan with the milk solids they're all black. The ghee.you strained off is a brown color. It should be clear and golden it's going to taste bitter and burnt. Check out some of the other Indian Cooks on UA-cam to learn how to do it properly. 🙄😀
