I got the thf one for a very good price ( brand new at $60 including shipping) and he's a very good figure. I swapped my straight up ko for him and haven't regretted it one bit.
After searchin up an entire week for the IT one i finally managed to find one around $60. Was about to cave in and buy the straight ko for the same price lol. THF was sold out almost everywhere and ive seen one that costs more than $500. Crazy

My goodness... I had no idea that such things exist. I was already considering of buying the official Masterpiece version - but that Emperor of Destruction seems like an improvement of it in every possible way! That clean, smooth back piece adds so much more cartoon accuracy in it, and the gun mode looks so much better because of thinner panel lines. I cannot believe that it is actually cheaper than the MP-36 Megatron. Even if it was the more expensive one and MP-36 was the cheaper one, I would _still_ rather get Emperor of Destruction. Thank you for releasing this video, Toy Dojo. It has probably offered more valuable information to me than any other video in UA-cam ever.
The Emperor of Destruction DOES have a stomach crunch articulation. Every review I've seen says he doesn't. It has quite a good stomach crunch. His sternum just has a nice firm tab that holds him in straight. The IT-01 paint app is also a feature. It may not "pop" like Dynastron, but it's quite strong. I've messed around with the emperor a lot, & I have yet to see one single scratch. I unfortunately can't say the same thing about my Official MP-36 Megatron. I feel confident when transforming the IT-01 also more than my MP-36. The tolerances are quite good actually, not tight at all. Exactly the same as MP-36 in my opinion.
Hmmm. I had no idea about the ab crunch. I tried and tried and tried to get him to bend at the waist but couldn't lol. Is there something I am missing that I need to move or something? Also you are correct in the paint and quality of IT. He is the best of the three in my opinion.
His tab is just very firm. Once you pop it the first time, it'll work much easier after that. It's nice how it pops & holds the sternum actually. I guess it needs to do that with all the die-cast that's in it's legs.

I know this is two years old so I'm sure you know by now, but, the IT has a different back which is why that backplate works with that version. You can modify it to fit the official release and the THF.
I got the IT one in 2018. I've said it on a few other reviews, the cannon with the English voice clips I got is different: the LED is purple, and there's different phrases from the show. Anyway: the Chinese clips are from the Chinese dub's Galvatron. The Japanese voice clips are also *technically* Galvatron's; the voice actor for Megatron & Galvatron in Japan, Seizou Katou, had died shortly before MP36 came out (according to TF Wiki), and so Takara simply reused the voice clips from the D62-S Galvatron (Anime Version) figure. Which is fine by me, I _LOVE_ that "DESTRON GUNDAN...TRANSFOOOOOORM!!" (Ironically, MP44 Convoy 3.0 has the answer: "Cybertron Seishi...TRANSFOOOOOORM!!")
The THF English Voice is Frank Welker, but not from G1 Megatron, it sounds like Frank Welker today, when he does Megatron’s voice without the audio metallic tweet. IT’s English Voice is from G1 Season 1 Megatron. And the IT has the Chinese voice actor.
You and me both! He will be the one I will be getting as well. the THF one is good but I just prefer the IT one. Though I love the box from THF more. Decisions, decisions! lol.
I ordered the IT one to go with my IT Prime. I ordered it from ShowZ last year 3/5/2020 and still waiting. Said it was a preorder item, yet it was out years before. Not sure what the hold up is. One question though. Does the IT come with a Decepticon sticker? I noticed his chest was bare as well as the THF.

Thanks for taking the time to review all these. Two quick questions. 1.Does the quality of plastic for IT-01 look cheap compared to Takara MP-36? 2.Between IT-01 and MP-36, what looks better with MP-44?
I've seen plenty of videos on the toy and I think it looks just as good as MP-36 and THF. I don't have IT's Megs but I do have my MP-36 and MP-44 next to each other and think they look great together. I'm sure the IT version would also look great with MP-44 with it being more cartoon accurate.
I’m gonna help you out with the voice actor on the thf one. He’s from the video game transformers devastation. They probably ripped the sound files straight from the game because they are so clear.
So, some complaints I have about the IT version. -The eyes are wonky on all of the faces -The thumbs on the hands are weirdly large compared to the fingers -The hammer on my right leg does not stay pegged in and actually fell off on mine. -The paint on my english cannon is bad -Some of the plastic on mine discolored rapidly, specifically the neck, inner chest, ankles, elbows, and wrists. They are currently a nasty green/brown color that's just a shade away from coffee black. -The beam saber does not peg into the purple pistol. -One of the forearm panels does not stay closed and is very floppy in robot mode. Needless to say, Im gonna pick up the THF one and hope third time is the charm.
In my personal opinion some of the KO's look better than the official version. My seventy-year-old father is a huge Megatron fan and it doesn't bother him one bit that the Best Wei Jiang Megatron I got him was a KO. I am also sure he's going to love the Best Wei Jiang MP-13 Sondwave I got him for his b-day next month

IMO, I think Infinite Transformation takes it. It's the accurate toon color and he comes with the back piece to hide all that kibble in the back of Megatron. I also have the original Takara MP 36 and his color is way off. My Takara version came in a darker shade of gray and the his face is a light gray /blueish tone to it. I like both of them regardless, but since I am going for a toon look in my figures, I think Infinite Transformation is the way to go.
Thanks for the comparison. I originally liked the IT Megs more than THF Megs but after this comparison I think like the THF better bc of the minor shine/paint I see on it. You can totally see the details of the damage chest with that little shine. I am actually curious on how the quality is on that other fully painted KO I've seen on sale. Overall you can't go wrong with either choices. Now my question is do I really want to replace my MT Despotron (AWESOME MEG'S IMHO) with this?? Oh the tough decision's of a collector lol.

THF and IT are built very well and the plastic quality is great. I never feared they would break or mess up on me whatsoever. As far as do you need to replace Despotron... well, a second Megs wouldn't hurt! Ha ha! I will be getting the IT one to replace my Apollyon! He stinks lol.
Infinite transformation version has outward hip ratchets which the other 2 do not you forgot to mention this, also the back panel cannot fit on the other two because infinite Transformations figure is slightly bigger slightly taller too you could even notice it on the faces if you hold them next to each other again and really look at it eyes are wider mouth is bigger, all around I think Infinite Transformation is the best one I have, I just wish they made a silver one I'm more a fan of the silver color for Megatron the only reason he was gray in the cartoon is because they couldn't color Him silver but I think he was always intended to be silver, that said I have a feeling they're going to release him in silver and then I'm going to be kicking myself because I'll have to get that one lol

The colors on almost everything in the show was off due to the limitations of the film and equipment used. Shockwave is the best example, he wasn't supposed to be that barely purple lavender color. The Rhino dvd's had some behind the scenes info about it. They are probably now on YT here somewhere.
I would sure buy the oficial one, but it's only for rich people in here (Brazil). For you to have an idea, this guy converted from Dolar to Real goes for around R$1000 (minimum wage here is 930), while THF-03 only for R$270. It's insane to collect all original masterpieces here. Then a company sells the same figure, with improvements and fixes? Sorry takara, I'm going with the pirates this time.

I know many prefer to get the official ones and are against anything other than the officials BUT as you pointed out, the official at many times is just too expensive. The others that come out are just as good, if not better and are less than half the price. It is a good thing to have the others come out instead of just the official :)
I love the classic toy chest piece offered by THF, but the back panel offered by IT makes it a no-brainer. If I can find a back panel sold separately that would fit the THF then I'd definitely get the THF.
Yes, that classic toy piece looks great as does the face! I am sure someone will be making a back piece that will fit both MP-36 and THF. I mean that would be some easy money for them if they did.

Well, I'm at the beginning of compiling a collection of G1 MP figures. I've watched several informative videos (with this one being excellent) and I've formed a clear view of the several models. However, when I tried to search and buy some of them, to my disappointment, most of these figures are not available any more (like THF-03) or they are hard to find and with some drawbacks (IT-01 only with the Japanese canon). Does anybody happen to know whether there are going to be reissues of these models? Currently, only MP36 KO is available :(
Thank you very much! You know, if you are looking just to have a toy version, I believe a set of replacement heads has been released. Now if you want to have a separate one for the toy look, then yes sir, pick up that THF.
I'm trying to understand what you mean by "4th party." Is that a KO that adds something to the original figure, like accessories or functional re-molding? Does that make upscaled KO's 4th party figures?
I do not know if I am the only one that uses 4th party as a term regarding figures. But yes, as you mentioned, I think (and this is only my opinion), that when someone takes a figure and makes it better by remolding or adding different things that the original didn't come with, should warrant it as 4th party. To me a KO is when a company (Takasa Tomy) just takes a figure and straight up copies it without doing anything different whatsoever. I am sure not many people will agree with me and that is okay. I'm late to the conversation and you may have already learned this but 4th party is a term that seems unique to the 3rd party transforming toy industry. Technically, there is only 1st, 2nd, and 3rd parties with respect to commerce. These parties are also relative, which you'll see further on as I explain. The 1st party is the seller(usually also the owner of an IP). The 2nd party is the customer/consumer/buyer of a product. The 3rd party is a supplier(sometimes a service provider, depending on the goods or service). A 3rd party is not always a licensed supplier/service provider. In Transformers products, one example of a licensed 3rd party is Hot Toys, who have created non-transforming figures of Transformers characters under contract by Hasbro. One example of an unlicensed 3rd party is Mastermind Creations, who have created transforming robot toys using the IP of Hasbro without legal permission. Both are 3rd party entities. A KO(knock-off) product is a 3rd party item just as an unlicensed toy that is derived from the IP of an existing character or concept is also a 3rd party item. One can KO a 3rd party item and still be a 3rd party item itself because any product or service that does *_not_* originate from the 1st party is automatically a 3rd party product or service, licensed or not. There is never a "4th party" because such a term is not necessary. However, I can see how the term "4th party" was birthed in the 3rd party sphere of discussion because the use and understanding of "3rd party" is muddled in 3rd party discussion, more often than not. Many people seem to think that the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd party relationships are based in steps of removal from the 1st party, which it really isn't. However, it is often thought that if a 3rd party item is itself KO'd, the KO is one step further removed and therefore the next level of party relationship, hence "4th party" designation.
Just pointing out that mp36s ab crunch is one of the most important features on this toy. So not having it in one of the versions automatically removes him from the equation.
Well it seems I make have to make an addendum video. One of my viewers pointed out that the IT version does in fact have an ab crunch but that it is just tabbed in very well. I have both THF and IT, I keep my THF with the G1 toy accessories and the IT on the shelf next to my other MPs. Anyone know if they make sticker sheets with the MP-36 more animation looking deception logo?
Nice. With the price of them, it is easy for many to be able to get two of them for the same reason you have. As far as the stickers, I would say your best bet would be to see if toyhax has any. I know they make a TON of different stickers including faction logos.

Toyhax/reprolables has the toon clear stickers. That's what I have on mine. As for the damaged chest pieces, get the ocean water slide decals. Those will work perfect for the damaged chest piece. You can find those on ebay.
mantis999999999 Well I don't consider these two to be KOs because I feel each company made improvements and differences enough instead of just a straight KO. I know there has been a straight up KO of this figure without any kind of upgrades. However many may disagree with me and I'm fine with that :)
LOL well I called them 4th party because to me a KO is one that is a straight up copy of a figure without any improvements to said figure. In the case of these two guys, they have improvements over the official MP-36. Not everyone will agree with me on that and I am okay with that. Thank you for watching and commenting :)

The IT alternate cannon with the Welker vocie has also got the G1 Cartoon blast sound, which is great.

btw you were wrong about the mouths... they are the same. the difference is the height of the eyes being wider and the placement of the eyes height.

Infinite transformation version has outward hip ratchets which the other 2 do not you forgot to mention this, also the back panel cannot fit on the other two because infinite Transformations figure is slightly bigger slightly taller too you could even notice it on the faces if you hold them next to each other again and really look at it eyes are wider mouth is bigger, all around I think Infinite Transformation is the best one I have, I just wish they made a silver one I'm more a fan of the silver color for Megatron the only reason he was gray in the cartoon is because they couldn't color Him silver but I think he was always intended to be silver, that said I have a feeling they're going to release him in silver and then I'm going to be kicking myself because I'll have to get that one lol

The colors on almost everything in the show was off due to the limitations of the film and equipment used. Shockwave is the best example, he wasn't supposed to be that barely purple lavender color. The Rhino dvd's had some behind the scenes info about it. They are probably now on YT here somewhere.
I would sure buy the oficial one, but it's only for rich people in here (Brazil). For you to have an idea, this guy converted from Dolar to Real goes for around R$1000 (minimum wage here is 930), while THF-03 only for R$270. It's insane to collect all original masterpieces here. Then a company sells the same figure, with improvements and fixes? Sorry takara, I'm going with the pirates this time.

I know many prefer to get the official ones and are against anything other than the officials BUT as you pointed out, the official at many times is just too expensive. The others that come out are just as good, if not better and are less than half the price. It is a good thing to have the others come out instead of just the official :)

I love the classic toy chest piece offered by THF, but the back panel offered by IT makes it a no-brainer. If I can find a back panel sold separately that would fit the THF then I'd definitely get the THF.
Yes, that classic toy piece looks great as does the face! I am sure someone will be making a back piece that will fit both MP-36 and THF. I mean that would be some easy money for them if they did.

Well, I'm at the beginning of compiling a collection of G1 MP figures. I've watched several informative videos (with this one being excellent) and I've formed a clear view of the several models. However, when I tried to search and buy some of them, to my disappointment, most of these figures are not available any more (like THF-03) or they are hard to find and with some drawbacks (IT-01 only with the Japanese canon). Does anybody happen to know whether there are going to be reissues of these models? Currently, only MP36 KO is available :(

Does the THF have a silver paint or is it casted in a silver plastic?

I'm trying to understand what you mean by "4th party." Is that a KO that adds something to the original figure, like accessories or functional re-molding? Does that make upscaled KO's 4th party figures?
I do not know if I am the only one that uses 4th party as a term regarding figures. But yes, as you mentioned, I think (and this is only my opinion), that when someone takes a figure and makes it better by remolding or adding different things that the original didn't come with, should warrant it as 4th party. To me a KO is when a company (Takasa Tomy) just takes a figure and straight up copies it without doing anything different whatsoever. I am sure not many people will agree with me and that is okay. I'm late to the conversation and you may have already learned this but 4th party is a term that seems unique to the 3rd party transforming toy industry.
Technically, there is only 1st, 2nd, and 3rd parties with respect to commerce. These parties are also relative, which you'll see further on as I explain.
The 1st party is the seller(usually also the owner of an IP).
The 2nd party is the customer/consumer/buyer of a product.
The 3rd party is a supplier(sometimes a service provider, depending on the goods or service).
A 3rd party is not always a licensed supplier/service provider. In Transformers products, one example of a licensed 3rd party is Hot Toys, who have created non-transforming figures of Transformers characters under contract by Hasbro. One example of an unlicensed 3rd party is Mastermind Creations, who have created transforming robot toys using the IP of Hasbro without legal permission. Both are 3rd party entities.
A KO(knock-off) product is a 3rd party item just as an unlicensed toy that is derived from the IP of an existing character or concept is also a 3rd party item. One can KO a 3rd party item and still be a 3rd party item itself because any product or service that does *_not_* originate from the 1st party is automatically a 3rd party product or service, licensed or not.
There is never a "4th party" because such a term is not necessary. However, I can see how the term "4th party" was birthed in the 3rd party sphere of discussion because the use and understanding of "3rd party" is muddled in 3rd party discussion, more often than not.
Many people seem to think that the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd party relationships are based in steps of removal from the 1st party, which it really isn't. However, it is often thought that if a 3rd party item is itself KO'd, the KO is one step further removed and therefore the next level of party relationship, hence "4th party" designation.
Just pointing out that mp36s ab crunch is one of the most important features on this toy. So not having it in one of the versions automatically removes him from the equation.

How are the silencer fittings on the 4th party guys?
They fit very well. They do not have the problems of sliding on and off like MP-36 does.
I have both THF and IT, I keep my THF with the G1 toy accessories and the IT on the shelf next to my other MPs. Anyone know if they make sticker sheets with the MP-36 more animation looking deception logo?
Nice. With the price of them, it is easy for many to be able to get two of them for the same reason you have. As far as the stickers, I would say your best bet would be to see if toyhax has any. I know they make a TON of different stickers including faction logos.
Check up reprolabels. I just order a cel shaded Megatron set. Looks pretty good if u like that sort of thing

Toyhax/reprolables has the toon clear stickers. That's what I have on mine. As for the damaged chest pieces, get the ocean water slide decals. Those will work perfect for the damaged chest piece. You can find those on ebay.

I know there has been a straight up KO of this figure without any kind of upgrades. However many may disagree with me and I'm fine with that :)
