It's cheaper, has more diecast, and it's actually taller. I display my figures in robot mode, and that extra height makes all the difference, especially when put next to any MP Prime.
As someone whose experienced this, and the official, he actually has a few physical differences, such as the fold away leg tab, extra ratchets in his hips, diecast thighs, slightly longer legs/ hip skirt parts, and some pins not being visible making it look smoother. But aside from that, he's pretty much the same.
Mp megatron has to be one of my biggest fan favourite mp toys after prowl and sideswipe and shockwave-soundwave,while the x-transbots appolyon was a really good reimagining of the iconic g1 design, this toy handles it even better, the transformation is honestly a really big miss, even with that it manged to give us a solid gun mod,i honestly prefer both x-transbots appolyon and mp megatron
apolyon looks cool, but i would only ever get it to go with mp10 and never transform it, the gun is just weird proportionally. i ended up with a really nice ko mp36 and its honestly my favourite masterpiece, everything is nice and tight and the transformation is extremely intuitive to the point where i can do it in under 4 minutes. i really dont get the overcomplication complaints
A little warning. Watch out for the hipskirts, on my figure, they were really brittle, and the entire right hipskirt broke apart. Way beyond repair. And, the fusion cannon has issues keeping attached to the arm, although i dont know any fix for that. And that his hands are really loose, and keep on falling off.
I have this exact figure coming in the mail soon! Edit: Interesting seeing all the QC issues. I've seen a good few reviews of this guy and this is the first one to talk about it having these issues.
It's kinda fun. I do have the first release of IT-01 and he's covered in paint. It's noticeable because the paint has metallic flakes into it and it . And the paint is insanely durable. The only place where it was damaged-his face, because I'm heavy-handed and scratched it while transforming him into a gun. In terms of joints, there were issues with mine too, but they were only in feet and backpack. Thanks to a filler piece for backpack, it stayes in one piece. IT managed to make a fixation peg for his ab crunch for more stability and ratchets for his hips in outward motions. In my opinion, this KO is superior to the original.
I actually got this guy off of EBay a while ago! I had some similar issues with the back and elbows, but I’ve also had loose knees, a missasembled stock, and the chain for the mace weapon is scarily tight in there so I can’t switch it for the articulate one, one thing especially you need to look out for is the butterfly joint, mine is cracked on its left side, despite all this, I still prefer it over the official because the paint chipping issue is just insufferable at $300+
I ordered this figure from the same site too, I have the same issues with mine aside from the waist, and the pin in his right hand along with the fingers attached to said pin were missing right out of the box. Aside from those things and the mace being glued in like yours, I love having a MP styled version of Megatron
The "safety" you said is actually called Hammer, is the thing that hits the bottom of the bullets making it explode and shoot the actual "bullet" part of the bullet forward.
Also you could could take a hair dryer to heat up the mace handle to get the purple plastic piece loose to pull it out and put the rest of the mace in.
I would love to get my hands on one of these or any of the third party versions but sadly that's not going to happen because the things are always sold out.
I know it is two years later, but how has this held up? Have some of the joints like the neck and wrists yellowed? I remember that happened on older releases.
I got this guy when he launched like 6 years ago. The first batch didn't have those QC issues. The especially had good paint coating on it. The speaker sounds fine on the one I have. Maybe this is a KO of the Infinite Transformation? I paid $85 for it.
I got this guy years ago when it first came out. I was just starting my MP collection at the time. My copy was/is fine. It did have the same issue with one of the feet like yours does, the right shoulder is a bit loose, and has the same issues with the back. I’ll have to see if I can fix those. Other than that, it’s a really good KO.
A. The switch on the very back is not a safety. It's the hammer. The hammer smacks the firing pin, which hits the primer in the bullet. All double action handguns have a hammer. Safety is always on the side. B) Extending a barrel always adds an advantage. When the bullet is fired, it increases velocity and spin, improving accuracy. With a short barrel, you always lose pressure because the gasses escape from the front. Longer barrel allows propelling to burn more completely and provides more compression to propell bullet forward faster. Although in a handgun, it would definitely decrease mobility because you are moving a longer barrel around. In COD, you add a suppressor, which makes bullet quieter, but also increases barrel length. Suppressor will always adds a lot of extra frond end weight than a longer barrel like you see in the old movies like Dirty Harry.
About 2 years ago, I bought a "KO" off Amazon with a gift card I was gifted for Christmas. He's not bad, although some of his tolerances are a bit whack. Even came in a box that, as far as I can tell, is indistinguishable from the original, although there was a giant dead moth inside the box... I suspect the seller was selling figures from the MP-36 factory that failed QC.
It looks like yours has the regular red LED; mine came with a purple one...for THAT particular cannon. That particular cannon's sound setup is set like this: 1. (Rearmost position) Transformation sounds. The transform up DOES cut off, though. 2. (One click) Frank Welker clips, straight from possibly craptastic recordings of the show. One of the clips also cuts out kinda bizzarely. The one you couldn't understand is odd, because I heard it easily: "Parting is such sweet sorrow...farewell, Autobots...FOREVER!!" (That's like my favorite of the Frank Welker Megatron voice clips that are in there) 3. (Two clicks) Clips from the Chinese dub's Megatron/Galvatron voice actor. They seem closer to the Japanese clips, too. 4. (Frontmost position) The blasting sounds, also from the show. Yeah, so there was another cannon that IS a 1:1 KO of the Takara one. Transform sounds at the back, Japanese voice clips in the middle, crappy blast sounds up front. These were reused from the D62S Galvatron (Anime Color Version) reissue of G1 Galvatron. I don't think Takara intended to do that, but they were left with no choice, because the guy who voiced Megatron & Galvatron in the Japanese dub of G1 (and The★Headmasters) died shortly before production of MP36 was finalized...which is a smurfin' chilling parallel to how the voice of Jazz in the US, Scatman Crothers, had died shortly after The Movie hit theaters but before season 3 production began. 😮😮😳😳🤯🤯 It really *DOES* look great with other MPs. I have one setup with my Con Alliance consisting of this guy, the Eagle KO of MP52 Starscream, that MP49 G1 Black Convoy KO, the Hasbro Year of the Goat Soundwave and his Minions (a set that's so bad, it oughta be considered a KO), the Toys Mage KO of MP43 BW Megatron, and the MP46 Blackarachnia KO, with the Jinbao oversized Gravity Builder KO behind them, facing off against the Allied Good Guys (MP44 Optimus 3.0 KO, MP27 Ironhide KO, MP17 Prowl KO, Hasbro Asia MP18 Streak (aka Bluestreak), MP19 Smokescreen KO, Takara MP12G G2 Sideswipe, Hasbro Asia MP40 Targetmaster Hot Rod, Takara MP24 Starsaber, Legendary Toys LTS03C MPM3 Bumblebee KO, & that MP32 Optimus Primal KO.
My one is absolutely horrible. Loose joints and even the arm rachet isn’t tight so he can’t hold his cannon up properly. The lack of paint also makes it look alot worse. I’m looking forward to that rumoured MP-36 reissue next year.
i got the more recent rerelease of this figure (with a majority of the issues fixed) and man does it look good and its matte grey paint helps make it look more cartoon accurate then the official and the paint is durable as hell only issue is the speaker when i had the TOYHOUSEFACTORY version and man is the speaker better
I actually did see some pictures and do some research about MP36 and a real Walther P38. MP36 actually scales almost perfectly with a real Walther P38. G1 Megatron is a bit undersized.
Oh man I genuinely feel terrible you got such a bad copy. I have the original IT release and a re-release copy and both are top notch. Painted up beautifully and solid joints all around. Instead of floor polish I highly recommend Kiki's Loose Joint Fix from ebay. Well worth the money and zero danger of getting it in your eye.
I got this guy a couple of months ago. Mine had the same issues as yours except the hips. I used crazy glue to fix the loose hinges/joints. But I also have trouble with the batteries staying in place in the battery compartment. I took a thin piece of cardboard and folded it and stuck in the compartment and that seems to work. I also have the same problem with his mace. I thought it was just in there tight and used a bit too much force and broke it. I'll have to remove the plastic in the hole so at least I can use the articulated piece in the post.
The mp36 I have all the paint (except the face) matches the gun metal on the shins. Although his left arm is rather loose lol. Sounds like most of your problems are problems mine shares. But the biggest problem is his barrel being loose.
I just got this from AliE and visually, this version of Megatron is by far, one of the most cartoon accurate ones out there. But it definitely has it's issues. You pretty much nail most of them in the video. There are others. The chest piece is a pain to move up and down. If you have a display where you keep him in robot mode, it's perfect. But to play around with.... definitely go with a different version or....ugggg...Hasbro.
This figure looks good in both modes, but does not personally feel good. In additio, my copy came with a missing screw in the back of the calve area and would just fall of, but this does not bother me as the side parts of the leg keep it from falling in both robot mode and gun mode
Damn am I glad I didn't decide to get this loose, trainwreck of a figure as my Megatron. I guess Despotron will have to remain on my shelf as my placeholder Megatron until something better comes along.
I'm glad I got a used copy of another 3p Megatron, even though it's missing one of the feet ratchets, it's so much better than this copy tbh, was about to order IT from show z
I just got this figure from aliE and have the same issues plus a very careless paint application and a lose screw in the backpack. Also realise after reviewing many videos that the sword is different in color like mine is almost purple while in other videos is pink. That let me thinking if this figure is a clone or a copy. Like a ko from a ko. What do you think?
Trigger spring flew off once day, barrel hinge is incredibly loose now and won't stay up in bot mode, he constantly compressed himself a lot worse than it was at the start, parts being extremely loose now.......and I barely messed with him. He looks super cool but his shelf life for me hasn't been the best
@@ThatToyGuy well that sucks, to me at least he is still a great display piece, I got one somewhat on your recommendation a while ago and loved the transformation. I transformed so much that the hinge in his right elbow sheared off but i was luckily able to find a replacement piece. Mine had some minor problems I fixed pretty easy and I plan to put him in a glass case with other masterpiece-esque figures eventually, I’m just a lot more careful with him now because of the plastic quality.
So that "working safety" is the exact opposite. It's the hammer, meaning that when it's pulled down, the gun is primed, then the trigger will have a little less resistance. So, in short, that is the safety of someone following you in a dark alley.
On my copy, the chain part of the mace was glued on, is there a way I can get it out or am I just stuck with this? I really wanted the posable chain on the mace
I really dont wanna ask but i'm in a bit of a fix here. Have you gotten your legacy blitzwing yet? I've seen a lot of reviews and im still confused which to pick.
He hasn't released in Canada yet so I don't have one. However my friends overseas have him and they really like it. They say the jet mode is weird but the rest of the toy is cool.
Hay person who knows guns hear gotta say That’s not a silencer the a barrel extension the era the gun megaton was before silencers existed but was a era where screw on rile conversation for pistols where popular with German pistols that’s also why megaton has a scope and a shoulder stock most pistols can no longer do this because it’s a felony in the eyes of the atf
I'm trying to get my hands-on something. Similar to this as a gift for my father although The website apparently cannot provide a secure connection. So i'm wondering if they've changed websites if anyone knows
Not necessarily. Takara had a few years of not great mp toys yes, but the majority of the old mp toys and the most recent ones, it's better to get the Takara ones as you are guaranteed more checks in the QC process, unlike ko's where there is no checking whatsoever. So you either get a very good copy or a very bad one.
@@ThatToyGuy yeah thing is that if they keep going for obsessive cartoon accuracy or to sell voyager class figures with hollow legs at 160 bucks then it's no. I ain't gonna pay for with my liver for something that looks bad
This actually has longer thighs than the mp36 and that quality is terrible I got my like 2 weeks ago and it is nearly perfect just those feet strands I really wish they tabbed in but it’s a minor blemish on an other wise amazing figure
I only have one MP, it's a KO Exhaust I got at a local convention. literally the only issue with it is the torso not always staying together and the fact that his gun doesn't fit in his right hand. other than that he feels fantastic
This figure is DISGUSTINGLY bad. Do. Not. Buy. This. Don’t gamble on this guy. The arm collapse mechanism on the right arm was completely busted, could not collapse. AT ALL. I tried going forward anyway and encountered even more issues on the legs. The loose joints are the least of your issues. A hundred bucks and 2 weeks of waiting completely wasted.
It's cheaper, has more diecast, and it's actually taller. I display my figures in robot mode, and that extra height makes all the difference, especially when put next to any MP Prime.
And an example of the added diecast: the thighs. Completely diecast.
Die-cast doesn't always makes things better lol, titanium toyline should've taught you guys

It's from the TV show from the 60's not the movie.

I buy KO’s of the MP figures because they’re so expensive in after market.

Jst gt mine thnkn on transforming bt nt sure yet, sound on canon didnt wrk unles i gta remove a battery tap nt sure.
it's not the best or the worst it's just good
i prefer original products not K.O
You got a crappy copy. Bummer. Mine is pretty sturdy.
What about the feet? His feet mistransformers everytime I pick it up lol
I only have one MP, it's a KO Exhaust I got at a local convention. literally the only issue with it is the torso not always staying together and the fact that his gun doesn't fit in his right hand. other than that he feels fantastic
Cancer but the size is masterpiece figure be like
I checked the store irs closed
glad to know im a friend lol
Get out of the way, Hot Rod!
My issue is the stupid fusion canon, it doesn’t work 😡
yesss new vid
Left arm is mistransformed the entire video
Yours is the loosest I've seen of this KO. That's wild.
Amazon has one for less than $50😂😂
This figure is DISGUSTINGLY bad. Do. Not. Buy. This. Don’t gamble on this guy. The arm collapse mechanism on the right arm was completely busted, could not collapse. AT ALL. I tried going forward anyway and encountered even more issues on the legs. The loose joints are the least of your issues. A hundred bucks and 2 weeks of waiting completely wasted.
i found this on aliexpress for $26
Did you get it? And if you did how is it?
@@MrBigB it was an undersized knockoff, my bad for confusing you
@@wyattrobertson6391 it’s alright 👍
