This is a teaser video about my upcoming Everyday Heroes video. And, sorry about the autofocus getting weird a few times. There were so many airplanes flying over with background wind I had to get to a point where it was "good enough" because it wasn't ever going to get any better. Also, this is just a teaser. I'm working on a full length video for Everyday Heroes and all their other books. I just wanted to have an excuse to visit the graves and share it with you.
Thank you for this vid. Bruce had a huge impact on my life. He passed on my birthday in 73. I began my martial arts journey the same year i began my dnd journey 1981. Hand in hand both the martial arts and dnd saved my sanity. As a bigger kid i was bullied a lot. Playing dnd back then didnt help my situation with the bullies. Eventually the bullying stopped and i out grew the feeking of revenge. Karate training helped me with that. Playing dnd allowed me to develop some social skills with the confidence i built from karate training. Ok sorry to ramble. Just wanted to express how much dnd and karate inluenced my life. Thanks again for the vid Aten. Keep em rollin

On Everyday Heroes: I was a fan of the old D20 Modern rules set back in the day, so this new seeming adaptation of these rules did grab my attention. Likewise, the fact that they had 'Official' setting books for some of my favorite movies was also a plus. However, I game very little these days, and I've been trying to cut back on my 'extraneous expenses' (with moderate success 😅), so I did pick up their setting book for Pacific Rim, but haven't yet gotten the core rulebook. Liked what I saw, and maybe if they discount the core rulebook I'll someday add it to my collection as well. Also, as to Brandon Lee's "The Crow": I also remember my 'Gothic Roleplaying Phase' in the World of Darkness setting. In the game "Mage: The Ascension", the NPC representative of the 'Death Mages' was described as the son of some well known kung fu master actor who 'allegedly' died during the making of a movie......REAL subtle hints there, huh? 😏 Finally: On Colon Week: I did have that uncomfortable test nearly 10 years ago, so its way overtime I had another (and this very platform keeps reminding me of such with One Damned Commercial.....its almost like my age is somehow in my profile or something, huh? 😂)
Seattle is beautiful. When I came upon Bruce Lees grave, I was overwhelmed with tears. Not tears of sorrow, but pure emotion being so close to someone whom has had a tremendous effect on me, in how I view life, how I look at martial arts & also how to view the world for what it is, not what we want it to be or how we think it shouldn’t be. Simply to see the beauty in all things for what it is. He’s the true artist in all aspects seen & unseen. There will never be another.
Grew up watching Bruce Lee films and The Crow is one of my all time favorite movies. Considering I am of ripe age to get a checkup, I was 2 when Bruce died. How time flies. Oh, and there is only ONE Crow movie.
I have not and will not watch the other Crow films. I'm sorry but there is only ONE Crow movie. :) And yes please, get checked - it's preventable if detected early. I plead with all my friends. I had a tumor cut out last year - but I was very lucky, they caught it early and it had "well defined edges." and the surrounding tissue came out negative.
@@welovettrpgs Glad to hear it turned out well. So many didn't have that luck. Take care. And I await more demonic/devilish lore videos! Thanks to your vids my pocketbook took a hit searching down some of those older D&D manuals. They are pricey.
That thumbnail was a protest against the outrage culture. Kinda tired of people training the algorithm to respond to garbage drama so I was mocking them.
At the end of the movie Dragon (1993) is the following quote: "The key to immortality is first living a life worth remembering." I wonder what Bruce and Brandon would think of the world of today, if they were still here with us... Thank you, Aten, for (virtually) bringing me where they rest. It may be the closest I'll ever be to two of the most inspirational people in my life. It means a lot.
Also, have your set checked for malfunctioning prop firearms, just in case. The more you know... (I'm only smiling to keep from crying. In addition to loving both Lee's, my mom died of pancreatic cancer a day before her 60th birthday. I turn 59 next month.)

I was living in the same town as the the Lee grave when we were doing research for The Crow so I went out there to pay my respects and check it out. I'm glad you are enjoying Everyday Heroes! If you don't get ahold of Dave, I'm also always game for an interview about the game. (I should say, I'm the game's lead game designer.)
Thanks that's great. I talked to Dave just before Gen Con and he said we would talk afterward. We havent talked yet but I read on your facebook page that someone became ill at GENCON. I was thinking it might be Dave? A couple days ago I finished putting a group together of players (playtesters) so I can get some GMing hours under my belt. This is the first TTRPG I've been excited about in a long time. Today I communicated with the person working on EDH for Fantasy Grounds and he gave me what he has so I can begin looking for bugs with my group. I think it might be something he could use more help with so I'm going to try to reach Fantasy Ground's CEO to look at options. It needs to be finished fast so we can get the word out there. With WotC coming out with their 5.5 stuff there will be a lot of people interested in gaming but looking for a better alternative. And that's what you offer. I'm working on some EDH videos and I intend for them to be significantly better than what's currently on UA-cam. I would like to speak with you as well as Dave, that will help me craft a coherent message in support of what you're creating. You can reach me at gruenab@yahoo.com
Look forward to a future review of EDH. I know there was some controversy over the business practices of the company leader(s). Which is a same since EDH is a flexible revision of 5e. I have found it capable of recreating many heroic characters from movies and films.
I did a bunch of fact checking on the alleged scandals and found one really great reporting of events with timelines and documented interviews. I now believe I possess a good idea of what happened. And I feel pretty confident it was overblown outrage with the internet doing what the internet does. But just to be certain I requested a conversation with their CEO and within a few hours of my request he responded and agreed. When he returns from GenCon we'll be talking and I'll be able to report on the issues. But mostly I'm just really excited about getting behind this game. I really havent been this excited about a TTRPG in a very long time.
I had never seen anything from Bruce Lee (though I know the name) and I have certainly not watched the crow. Hpwever I think sharing stories as such can be inspiring and this was a truly unique little video =) thank you. I love your content and look forward to more!

I guess I look like somebody who knows their way around a graveyard. lol After I took them they tried to pay me. So I guess I'm a graveyard tour guide now. :)
Everyday Heroes is my go to system now. Currently playing a Rambo campaign, but it's so versatile and great for reliving my misspent youth watching 80's action movies. Plus they've their "Not Rebel Moon" sci-fi setting book coming out shortly too. I can't wait to play an entire campaign in slow motion!
The Rebel Moon book was cancelled and resulted in a big lawsuit. From what is on-line it looks like Netflix was at fault. I'll know more after I interview the CEO in the coming days.
@@welovettrpgs They just announced it's being released but are emphasising that it's NOT Rebel Moon. 🤣 There's an open beta now. It's called Intergalactic Heroes.
I was just talking about The Crow earlier today! Fun movie... but yeah, has such a tragic story attached to it. I read the comics first, so I was excited when I heard they were making a movie... and was crushed when I heard that Brandon was killed on set. Such a tragic loss. I am glad we did finally get to see the movie, but if you read the story as to how the accident happened, the filmmakers really messed up. Crazy to think we had another deadly situation only recently on the set of Rust. When will Hollywood get their act straight with stuff like this?!
I have yet to look into Everyday Heroes but it caught my attention a while back because of the Crow and Highlander. I've held off on picking it up because 1) finances, 2) I have more games than I can play already, and 3) I don't really care for 5E. But you've made me start thinking about it again...
Give me a couple weeks to get the full video(s) out and hear my thoughts on it. I think it will be helpful! Also, the core rules + The Vault are on sale on Amazon. But youd need to go through them (or elsewhere?) to get books + PDFs.
it's great. Most of Seattle's original founders are there. The bodies of no fewer than five different graveyards were moved to that graveyard. If you lived in Seattle in the late 1800s you could have witnessed your grandmother dug up multiple times and moved to different graveyards before ending up there. Also, the Moore theater downtown is built over a Native American burial ground and Denny Park (also near downtown) is built over one of our original settler graveyards. My favorite grave is "Mother Damnable" who I'm pretty sure was a witch.
