This episode was the best one so far!! The tension, the intensity of Gon's emotions... Absolutely brilliant! 💯

what i love about HxH. There's no right or wrong, only individual's emotions and different responds, different worldviews. No other fictional works ever gave me so much heartaches. Gon is so deeply human. Killua is the most human. ❤ you guys have a great comprehension of the characters and art directions.

      Leorio's actually the most human

@samuelagomah7627 Leorio is way more privileged than Killua in a way.
He didn't have his utmost human rights taken away from him the day he was born.
Leorio had friends and was free to have friends. Killua didn't even have the basic human rights of human warmth and affections.
He was raised to be a weapon. in no case would anyone raised like that turn out remotely decent. But Killua is soooo sensitive that he rebels against his programming.
I don't think many characters in HxH go 360 degree against their programming as Killua did, except for Meruem, maybe.
even without all that, Leorio is not as sensible, perceptive, and ultra delicate as Killua in both feelings and thoughts.
I love Leorio for sure, but Killua hides his feelings and we always see him suppressing his emotions or concealing his feelings, since he was trained to be a shinobi. that's so moving.
and everytime Killua is in pain, i was stabbed in my chest. ☺️☺️☺️☺️
Leorio is so sweet, but he suffers less in life due to his nature. Yes his childhood is tough too but Killua had Zero childhood 😢

Well I wouldn't say Gon didn't care about Komugi : the first thing he said was to get away from her bc he thought Pitou was torturing her and then he said let's go outside to fight bc Komugi was inside, but ofc he didn't know about DrBlythe's specifics, the fact that Pitou has to stay close bc her tail is attached to it... he waited for so long for that fight putting a lock on his emotions and everyone was supporting him in that, Killua first, no one actually tried to stop him or help him process his emotions, but also you can't really blame them bc it seems like everyone at this point still believes Kite can be saved somehow... only the audience saw how Pitou severed his head and put him together to make a puppet of him (if they knew 100% that Kite was dead and still let Gon go I would blame them tbh)
Gon is in that weird situation when he's not even able to grieve bc he still has hope that Kite can be saved and Killua uses that to stop him...Gon can't wait, it's unbearable bc he thinks Kite is alive and suffering and he wants to save him asap so Pitou begging for time angers him to no end, especially bc she's showing care for a human and for the king saying she has to do it bc "the king wouldn't be himself anymore without Komugi" but... Gon isn't himself anymore, Kite isn't himself anymore bc of her so those words are really inconsiderate 'how dare she?!' ...but Pitou has no idea and is only doing everything to complete the King's order
I love that we can understand both sides and feel bad for everyone in the scene
When Gon is about to attack Pitou saying "to hell with it" I wonder if somehow unconsciously he knew that there was no hope for Kite but previously rejected that idea bc it would destroy him, so he sticks to that rage and hope to be able to keep going...if he has no hope anymore what can he do? this is a terrifying thought....it's so painful to watch, that's why we can understand Killua perfectly : not being able to do anything when your best friend is going through the hardest time of their life and is pushing you away is deeply depressing even if you understand them
Gon was unfair to say that Killua is not concerned but at the same time he wasn't wrong either : Killua is affected by the situation yes, but more bc of Gon... he admired Kite and all but he's used to death and cruelty since a young age and is able to deal with his emotions just bc he had to....and this is tragic in itself but we can understand how a friendship problem is affecting him more than death and torture bc it's new to him and actually he's not good at handling that kind of stress either : the translation omitted in Killua's line when he said "get yourself together!" he's using a rude word, which could be quite hurtful towards Gon even though he knows his emotions are valid and it shows that he's actually not calm at all
Both of them are suffering in different ways and like you said Gon is not a bad friend, Killua is doing his best, but there's a limit to what they can handle in this situation and every friendship can go through really hard times when one of the 2 is suffering, dealing with heavy trauma or depression or loss etc... the friendship is truly tested and can actually become stronger bc of those hardships...
'True' friends aren't there only in fun times, they stay even when it's not fun anymore...

Yeah Gon was more human than ever in this moment, and a child on top of all that. That's why I don't like when people interpret it as him becoming a monster, I don't think it's the point the arc wants to make nor is that smart of a take. They're all humans - with different emotions and ways to process emotions (and Gon lacked the tools to process all of that, he's more introspective about his emotions when they're not happy. He always has a hard time crying, he fears being seen as weak or unqualified for people to stick around, he forces himself to be strong and unaffected but this time it just doesnt work)
