The GLA 250 has auto start/stop which turns the engine off when you come to a complete stop, then quickly starts it back up as soon as you let off the brake to start going again. I have a feeling based on his much slower 0-60 time than seen elsewhere, that he was not aware of that and/or failed to disable it, as it's on by default. Other tests I've seen have recorded 0-60 times as low as 6.6 seconds for the GLA 250.
+maczter Quite possible, he's also at nearly a mile of elevation. Not exactly ideal for running those tests. As long as he's just comparing to others that he has also tested there, he's fine, but you can't use his data against tests at lower altitudes.
0-60 mph with or without a rollout and 0-100 kph with or without a rollout should all be able to be measured in the same run. Otherwise there are too many variables. BTW, 1 pound-FOOT, 2 or more pound-FEET
I wanna see these really go off road. Even though it sits pretty low I wanna see if it can be taken off road if a group of friends wants to go camping through some decently bad beginner intermediate trails to get to a camping spot.
60mph is NOT 100km/h. It is 96km/h. There is always at most +0.5 sec difference in performance times between US magazine performance tests and those from other countries who use metric.
Its interesting that non luxury brands like Ford, KIA, and Subaru have 2.0 l turbo charged engines that make more horsepower than luxury brands that have the same size engine. Not saying one car is better than another, its just interesting.
Super Dan It's not a race to squeeze as much power as possible. Power delivery, fuel consumption and reliability are also very important. Kia has 2.0T with around 270hp and it's rubbish - power delivery is terrible, there's huge turbo lag and overall it's much slower than BMW's 2.0 240hp. PS. Actual power is another thing. Kia likes to cheat and I think noone got 270hp in real life.
In the beginning of the video Roman said he was going to do a 0-100 kph run and a one foot roll out, he did neither. He only showed times in mph and brake torqued it.
Its amazing that the 2.7L F-150 smokes this car 0-60...hey Roman, how about embarrassing some Germans by doing a F-150/GLA250 mash up...off-road, at the track, towing, etc? Come on The Fast Lane Truck The Fast Lane Car guys...make it happen
I don't understand where they get off calling this thing a crossover SUV. SUVs, whether they are crossovers, or truck based, are supposed to be tall vehicles. This is a glorified hatchback that isn't even 5 feet tall (according to Wikipedia 58.8 inches tall or 4 feet 10.8 inches tall).
***** If you ask me its a downgraded hatchback. Lets face it nobody is taking these offroad and the standard european version drives ten times better on the road. If you get the AMG version its downright insane.
lexusfan100 I think that you don't have any taste at all. I don't like Mercedes (like all other german cars) but it's great designed. You people musk ask yourself sometime; what you really know about subject.
Smokey BEAR Americans hate hatchbacks/station-wagons. they got them in europe, A-class, but in U.S. no one wants them. so they raised it a little and called it a SUV.
Jonathan Washington im sure here there are people that love hatchbacks. but its a very small number. in europe, i would say, 8 out of 10 cars on the road are hatchbacks. in US most people get Trucks/SUVs or sedans.

Really? Starting off with a kissing your cousin refference?
Who ever thinks it's ok to kiss your cousin?! That was so weird, Roman.
aconfusedazn I've heard that drinking rose' wine is like kissing your cousin because it's very nice but there's nothing in it.
that was really shady 0.o
Why not use vbox for all 0-60 tests? Could you please also say the 0-62mph time (0-100kmh).
0-60 must be very different to the fast lane car than 0-62, or as those select europeans would say, 0-100kph. the difference is 2 mph
I like this new format you guys were using for the 0-60 times. You guys should keep using it.
0-60 mph with or without a rollout and 0-100 kph with or without a rollout should all be able to be measured in the same run. Otherwise there are too many variables.

Naw wtf was that cousin joke…
definitely weird
Great review, I was wondering what application you used to time the 0-60 times?
Looks like VBOX Sport Performance Test app
what app are you using to track the time?

Not a direct competitor to the Lexus NX.
This is much smaller and lighter, and less powerful.
And about $4k less

***** Oh, OK. Thanks.
sic22l Thanks for the info
What is the name of that app ?

Yippie Watch till the end. At the end, he does a 0-100 kph run that resulted in 8.41 seconds.
Brake torquing a DCT?? That is a Car 101 no-no!!
Good review as always, with an abysmal opening line
In the International System of Units, is km/h and not kph.

Jacob Walls oh my so embarrassing.
Why do you guys always manage to get a slower 0-60 than every other fucking person? It really pisses me off.
+ZobedRevolution Because they do their tests at a mile of altitude. Less oxygen=less power.
+Geekalicious 000 What is the point though? They then call the car bad because they decided they were going to starve it of oxygen.
I got 6.24.
Superb
Here in America (The Continent) we also use Km/Hr and not just Miles/Hr. Just saying! Nice video, though
What is the App. name ?
100KPH = 62.5MPH
Awsome guys you always rock
Kissing your cousin?? Wtf why would that ever seem like a good idea

Jeff K
Well it is a Mercedes so I will give it some credit.
This thing is a hatchback and nothing more they called it an "SUV" because most Americans don't like hatchbacks.
Brake twerking ? Lol...I know what you mean
what I managed to hit 60 in 6 sec flat
Me too. 6.14 to 60mph
Batata was that with traction control off?
I got 6.24. I'm not sure what they were doing?
Niiiice... But over a outback or forester, no! Its to pretty haha expected more hp out of it.... Meh
3:07 🤤
what do u thinko of the design..i think its the worst looking exterior merc ever.
lexusfan100 idk some of those early 2000 c class coupes are absolutely hideous
I have to disagree. The GLE is alot worse
lexusfan100 I think that you don't have any taste at all. I don't like Mercedes (like all other german cars) but it's great designed.
You people musk ask yourself sometime; what you really know about subject.
B Class is uglier :)
Why can't mercedes just bring us a hatchback this vehicle is just a gimmick
Smokey BEAR Americans hate hatchbacks/station-wagons. they got them in europe, A-class, but in U.S. no one wants them. so they raised it a little and called it a SUV.
I'm American and I love hatchbacks...^
I want the a250 4 magic it's so nice

Americans love unpractical suv with automatics kill me
I hope the guy didnt kissed his cousin... XD
Fuckin weird analogy
not a big fan of the front bumper, where the intake is, it just looks like 2 things of cheap plastic.
Dumb and useless car in my opinion. I just don't get the attraction to the little confused "crossovers"
