The Fantastic Mr. Fox n Rushmore are the best 2.
@@jasoncarrick5461 The Grand Budapest Hotel won an Oscar
@@jasoncarrick5461 I would also add to that list “The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou”
@@tammyb885 I disagree, but I am happy u liked it.
I enjoyed Asteroid City but was disappointed with The Fantastic Mr. Fox. It did nothing for me.
Gustav shouting "Get your hands off my Lobby boy!" is the most heartwarming thing from all of Anderson's film.
Gustav is probably my favorite role of Ralph Fiennes. Awesome movie.
Another top moment is Steve Zissou starting to cry in his submarine when he finally finds the jaguar shark, and all of his mates & crew reach their hands to him for support. It makes me weep every time I see it.
For me it's "He's the Zissou."
Funny and Heartwarming
I go with "Do you think he remembers me" from Steve Zissou personally. That scene gets me every time. The delivery of the line, the song choice... Chefs kiss
As soon as I saw this, I knew The Darjeeling disrespect would be present. Definitely a top 5 of his for me
100%, its my third favorite
This movie is awful
@@tonin5047 to YOU
@@OhGeeKevlar Yes, to me
Where did i say the opposite?
@@tonin5047elaborate
The Life Aquatic Of Steve Zissou is my favorite. It's like if Wes Anderson directed an adaptation of Moby Dick in his own comedic and aesthetic style.
I love that movie so much, I just watched it again yesterday. Everything about it is perfect, the climatic scene where they find the jaguar shark is so amazing, when everyone puts a hand on Steve, all of his old friends and family and his new friends who came with him on this journey and wondered why the hell they were there with this crazy jackass. It all comes together and for that moment, he was great again, and everyone knew why they were there. It's really rare that a movie can capture that much emotion in one shot. I genuinely think that movie is worth watching just for that one scene.
Totally agree with you on that one...
Yes!
Grand Budapest Hotel is SO damn good, i could watch it over and over and not get tired of it.
I believe it’s pointless to rank Wes Anderson movies. They are all valuable in their own right. All of them are good.
I liked "The Fantastic Mr. Fox" the most
It has more energy than any other of his movies
regardless of the number 9 spot.. the sushi scene in Isle of Dogs was probably the most visually appeasing cooking scene i've ever seen in a movie
The Darjeeling Limited is one of his better films.
It's certainly not his worst.
It's crazy how his "worst" films are still great. Just shows how great of a director Wes Anderson is.
Grand Budapest Hotel was just perfect, but so many of his other movies are just as good. Great director and probably the most recognizable filmmaker of all. You see a frame from all his movies, you know it's Wes. Can you say that of any other director?
hayao miyazaki ?
David Fincher, Quentin Tarantino, Christopher Nolan, Martin Scorcese, Akira Kurosawa, Tim Burton, just to name a few. Each icon's style is quite distinct you can tell it's them, or a homage to their artistic style.
@@manchesterunitedno7 nah i would dissagre with you about tarantino, though he is great, but he is often imitated by other filmmakers such as guy ritchie or shane black, and fincher movie style could be made by anyone, i mean nolan insomnia feels like fincher movies
The Life Aquatic will always be my #1. By a Mississippi mile. Royal Tenenbaums and the Grand Budapest Hotel probably round out my top 3. Although, I am pumped to see Asteroid City finally, and Darjeeling Limited is highly underrated.
Sure enough, Asteroid City just made it into my top 3. With a bullet.
Rushmore is easily my favourite, such a banger!
Agreed
Yes that was the 1st Wes Anderson flim I ever watched then The Royal Tenebaums came after became my 2nd
Personally, I find the Darjeeling limited better than most of his and the second best out of all of them (still haven’t see asteroid city)
Wes Anderson is my favorite director. My favorite is Moonrise Kingdom, which he should have won Best Screenplay for. I hope he gets nominated for (and wins) Best Director for Asteroid City.
It’s pretty amazing how he could get an A-list cast in like all of his projects
I saw The Darjeeling Limited so often at the bottom of these Wes Anderson rankings I believed it. But I really loved it when I saw it.
The French Dispatch is the worst imo.
I would put Zissou at the bottom with French Dispatch just above it.
Maaan, Darjeeling's my favorite lolol. Just feels like his most raw and personal. Love his quirky stuff too, of course, but Darjeeling definitely one of Anderson's most emotionally effective.
Darjeeling and Rushmore are why I still suffer through his more recent films.
@@Marvelous_Opera 🤣🤣 yeah, like I do really still love his newer films. Asteroid City had me in tears. But those two (Darjeeling and Rushmore and also Bottlerocket), showed a way more raw side of Anderson without the theatrics. It’s always great to see a wonderful and masterful piece of art, but some of us really just want to see the artist behind the makeup.
I liked a lot, especially the way India itself is such an enchanting character in the film.
I love moonrise Kingdom, from it's character and scenery. No wonder Wes Anderson is one of My favorite filmmakers
There was a really good SNL trailer for a Wes Anderson horror movie. A Coterie of Sinister Intruders captures a lot of Wes Anderson tropes.
The Darjeeling limited at 11??? Have you lost your mind?
Personally, I really love The French Dispatch. Each of the stories it presents are really good and really resonate with me.
Fair: I’ve only seen it once and didn’t really enjoy the last story as much as the first 2, but it is underrated for sure.
The grand Budapest hotel has to be one of my favourite movies ever
Fantastic Mr fox is my favourite
That Movie Rules
Life aquatic is such and underrated Movie. I don’t know why people hate it so much. It has so much charm and great characters. The story is kind of strange and at times can feel kind of messy but overall is one of his best movies right behind Rushmore and the Royal tenenbaums
Rushmore being 5 is criminal. Not only is it his best film, it is by some margin
It is my favorite, but I would say Royal Tenenbaums, Grand Budapest, Life Aquatic are all superior as films. The filmmaking on those was next level.
@@snerdterguson Since I last commented this I've grown to think Asteroid City is right up there with his most elite films. I love all the ones you listed as well
For reference, list:
The Darjeeling Limited - 2007
The French Dispatch - 2021
Isle of Dogs - 2018
The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou - 2004
Bottle Rocket - 1996
Asteroid City - 2023
Rushmore - 1998
Fantastic Mr. Fox - 2009
Moonrise Kingdom - 2012
The Royal Tenenbaums - 2001
The Grand Budapest Hotel - 2014
His name is actually West Anderson but they misspelled it in the credits of his first film and he was too afraid to correct them and now he's stuck with it. 😢
Interesting 🙂
That's false. His name is Wesley Wales Anderson. Google it yourself.
Top 5 faves
Rushmore
The Royal Tenenbaums
The Life Aquatic
The Grand Budapest Hotel
Moonrise Kingdom
(Most underrated: The Darjeeling Limited)
Well done, I do need to re-watch "Bottle Rocket" but I think you pretty much nailed it.
This list should be renamed ‘from great to greatest’ as there is no worst Wes Anderson film. One of the most consistently brilliant directors of all time. Personally I’d be Royal Tenenbaums and Rushmore as 1 and 2 respectively but this is a pretty fair list
I’m in the process buying all Anderson movies so far I have The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou
Moonrise Kingdom
and Darjeeling Limited
my next three I order will be Rushmore
Bottle Rocket
and The Royal Tennenbaums
the title of the video should read : "EVERY Wes Anderson Movie Ranked From Best to Bestest"
The Royal Tennebaums is my favorite.
I hate that gene Hackman wasn’t in more of his movies
I would put Moonrise at #1 and Life Aquatic at #2
Must have been tough ranking GRAND BUDAPEST over ROYAL TENENBAUMS...I'd have called it a tie. And ASTEROID CITY is definitely on the must-see list.
There’s no worst Wes Anderson period. I adore this man. My favourite director
Even though I haven't really seen many of his other movies, I think that Isle of Dogs and Fantastic Mr. Fox are most likely my top picks for this video. I'm into movies that have animals as the stars and I think that these 2 are really good at showing that.
"The Life Aquatic With Steve Zissou" is my favourite of Anderson's filmography, as I love the style, characters (esp. Willem Dafoe's Klaus) and music and I feel it's pretty underrated. Also, fun fact: Matthew Gray Gubler has a small role as Intern #1 AKA Niko and was a co-writer and Wes Anderson's real-life intern!
Hello Caitlin
"The Grand Budepest Hotel" is one of my alltime favourite movies.
What a brilliant masterpiece!
Ranking seems counter to the spirit of Wes Anderson's films, but I'd put Moonrise Kingdom first, The Life Aquatic second and Royal Tenenbaums third. This may change after I see Asteroid City. Or not.
Rushmore is my favorite of all time ❤
Thank You for the List and Video 😀
Grand Budapest Hotel is by far my favorite, mostly due to Ralph Fiennes. Asteroid City comes in second. I don't know how to rank the others because I enjoy them all equally. The only two I haven't seen yet are Bottle Rocket and Isle of Dogs.
Love Wes Anderson movies, the subjects, the casts, the sly humor, timing and of course, the pastel colors. My goal is to see every one before I die, I'm about half way there. Of course, the Grand Budapest is his opus, so far.
Great list, I’d just swap the top two. The Royal Tenenbaums is my fave WA movie & one of my all time favorites in general.
Hello Diana
Nice. These are my top three by far. I personally put Royal at 1 but you still nailed it!
“he’s the Zissou” is definitely #1
I haven't seen all his movies, yet, but Isle of Dogs takes my top spot
Isle of Dogs should have been 2nd but I totally agree his best work to date is grand hotel. He’s up there with the greats in my view like billy wilder and Tarkovsky. Just such an engaging director who is just pure story driven.
Gustav from the Grand Budapest Hotel cracked me up the first time I watched that film. Ralph Fiennes can really pull off a very sophisticated gentlemanly character, even if he's also got a bit of a potty mouth. Wes Anderson is one of the greats of modern cinema. There's so much crap out there that it's refreshing to see true artists still thriving.
I’ve been starting to get into Wes Anderson’s work, so far I’ve watched Fantastic Mr Fox and Asteroid City and loved them both(With both being some of my favorite films ever). I definitely want to check out Grand Budapest, it looks amazing!
The Darjeeling Limited has the best song in a Wes movie… The Kinks - Strangers
Wow, I pretty much agree with this entire list, well done!
Isle Of Dogs and Life Aquatic should've been higher!
Darjeeling is my favourite of his entire filmography. I love them all but that one hit me differently
Watching a Wes Anderson movie is like watching a bunch of old timer automatons coming to life.
1 - The Grand Hotel Budapest
2 - Moonrise Kingdom
3 - The Royal Tenenbaums
4 - Isle of Dogs
5 - Rushmore
6 - The French Dispatch
7 - Bottle Rocket
8 - Fantastic Mr. Fox
9 - Asteroid City
10 - The Life Aquatic With Steve Zissou
11 - The Darjeeling Limited
Nice transition from 6 to 5 of elder and younger Schwartzman 👍
5. Fantastic Mr. Fox (C)
4. The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou (C+)
3. Moonrise Kingdom (B+)
2. Isle of Dogs (A-)
1. The Grand Budapest Hotel (A-)
Planning to see all his other movies.
1. Fantastic Mr. Fox
2. Moonrise Kingdom
3. The Royal Tenenbaums
4. The Life Aquatic With Steve Zissou
5. The Grand Budapest Hotel
6. Rushmore
7. The Darjeeling Limited
8. Isle Of Dogs
9. The French Dispatch
10. Bottle Rocket
I’ll include Asteroid City somewhere on this list once I’ve seen it.
I mostly agree with this list, although I haven't seen Asteroid City yet and I couldn't decide between The Royal Tenenbaums or The Grand Hotel Budapest.
Happy for Isle of Dogs and Fantastic Mr Fox with their rankings, they are very good movies. Also with so many of them having Jason Schwartzman, I wonder if Beyond the Spiderverse will have a Wes Anderson Spiderman just for laughs
Right when Darjeeling was number 11 I knew this list was not for me
Isle of Dogs should’ve been higher and should’ve been above Life Aquatic, which had a cool idea but ultimately was a bit slow and wasn’t as good as we all wanted to be. Haven’t seen Astroid City yet. Definitely would go with the awesome Grand Budapest Hotel as number one and the Fantastic Mr. Fox as number 2. The fantastic Mr. Fox was when Wes Andersons humor really started hitting with me. Seeing his humor in animated form for the first time, i found it so hilarious and genius. It made me start to appreciate that humor a lot more in love action films.
I watched isle of dogs yesterday for the first time and I loved it.
I also watched the royal tenenbaums a few weeks back and that was a decent film
life aquatic is in the top 3 for me - the soundtrack alone made it great!
The guy who plays Pele is sooooo good! I don't know what it is about his voice and the way he plays guitar, it just really fits with the movie, it's perfect.
Now do Every Christopher Nolan Movie Ranked from Worst to Best
I swear looking at a Wes Anderson movie is like looking at a Pablo Picasso painting he has his own unique style and they are fascinating to watch.
Actual list:
1- Royal Tenenbaums
2- Darjeeling limited
3- fantastic mr. Fox
4- isle of dogs
5- grand Budapest
(Astroid city doesn’t even make the list)
I just watched The Life Aquatic with my fiancee yesterday, she had never seen it, and isn't even familiar with Wes Anderson's work. She liked it, lmao, she was surprised that I liked it, she said it was "more artsy fartsy" than what she would picture me liking. Which is extremely accurate.
I loved Isle of Dogs since the day it came out and now I watch it every year it is my favorite
i love that he not change his cast to much...always his favorite Actors on Set!
It’s funny how The Darjeeling Limited is in my top 3, but every rank has it near the bottom. Guess I’m the only one with some love for it.
1. The Royal Tenenbaums
2. Rushmore
3. The Grand Budapest Hotel
4. Fantastic Mr. Fox
5. The Life Aquatic
6. Bottle Rocket
7. Darjeeling Limited
8. Isle of Dogs
9. Moonrise Kingdom
10. The French Dispatch
* Astroid City (have not seen yet)
Grand Budapest Hotel is by far his best also do a ranking of all Alfred Hitchcock films please or if not do a top 20
“Why did Wes Anderson come here [India] to make his WORST movie!?”
😅😂
I wish the local chains of California "Regal" would get
Enlightened and start showing
Wes Anderson.... i waited for Astroid City... Nope, more important to HORROR everyone.... Dont we get enough each day on the
News ?!?! The world needs Wes
Now more than ever. P E A C E
Moonrise Kingdom and Fantastic Mr Fox are my favourite.
I’ve only seen four of his films… as follows:
1- The Grand Budapest Hotel
2- Fantastic Mr Fox
3- Asteroid City
4- Moonrise Kingdom
It’s not a bad ranking. Definitely agree with 10 and 11 being at the bottom. I’d put Royal T and Rushmore ahead of Grand B though. Gotta say, his Netflix shorts are amazing and would deserve a good ranking too. In the end, so much subjectivity in ranking. However, if you don’t put Darjeeling Limited last, I’d question if you really know what you like about his films.
Grand Budapest hotel is one of my favorite movies period. Def my favorite of Wes Andersons movies.
It's too bad so many people underrate The Darjeeling Limited. It's my favorite Wes Anderson film.
Dude I DO NOT understand why Darjeeling gets looked down on. I mean I get it something has to be at number 11 but that film is seriously good.
Rushmore and Fantastic Mr. Fox are my 2 favorites, but this list isn’t egregious.
Fantastic Mr fox better be in the top 3
Almost Everyone: How can the humans understand the dogs in Isle of Dogs?
Me: It’s the future
Life aquatic, Steve Zissou moonrise Kingdom
The grand Budapest Hotel will be played over and over at my home,, so so good
Watch mojo is so wrong for putting the Darjeeling limited at the 11 like you guys are serious or what
I'd rate Isle of Dogs higher. It's stunningly beautiful and the story is compelling.
Personally, mine are:
1. The Grand Budapest Hotel
2. Moonrise Kingdom
3. Darjeeling Limited
4. French Dispatch
5. Asteroid City
6. Life Aquatic
7. The Royal Tenenbaums
8. Rushmore
9. Bottle Rocket
10. Isle of Dogs
11. Fantastic Mr. Fox
"Wait. Just in case this is a suicide or they capture us and we never see each other again anymore, I just want to say: Thank you for marrying me. I'm glad I got to know you, Suzy"
-Sam Shakusky
My top 3 is Tenenbaums, Mr. Fox, and Grand Budapest
Tenenbaums is my favourite movie. I'd rank the Darjeeling Limited and Rushmore a lot higher than they were rated as well.
Moonrise Kingdom! 🙌🏻
Asteroid City is turning into one of my favorites
I personally enjoyed Darjeeling more than Grand Budapest, but hey to each their own
I would have put Moonrise Kingdom at number 1, but it's not a bad list
Isle of Dogs is my fave ❤. I’ve never got thru any other WA movies besides “Royal Tennenbaums”
