I agree that Target played in our face this year....when I went to my local store last week and had to walk to the back of the store , I was appalled 😮.
I was able to get to the collection before it was picked over. I got the Queen sweatsuit , the dark blue African man sweatshirt, the cardigan, and the black women tee that you featured.
I'm so glad that you did the sneaker pairing. I have those same MoM AJ 1s, and I can't wait to wear them with the t-shirt!

My Target had black history merchandise in the back of the store too. I purchased the black history jogging suit.

I just started getting my girls black history apparel last year (they go to a predominately white elementary school) I got them that black tshirt you have. ALSO got them the 3 collectable barbies: Bessie Coleman, Ida B. Wells, and Madam CJ Walker. I got myself a tan $12.99 tshirt that says "Shades of Beauty".
Nice I love that. When my daughter was little I got her all of the Black Girl stuff.
You did amazing! The Valentine display was in the front. I'm giving Targe the sideeye 😮. I got the brown Queen sweatshirt, man and woman print and a Pinky Lomein tshirt. I wanted the checked cardigan, but so did everyone else. I wish there were more jewelry selections. And more color overall, cause we are a colorful people. Fun video.

Yes, it was in the back at my store also. I noticed people were passing by the display and putting trash on the shelves. It happened last year too when the display was in the front of the store. Both times, I took it upon myself to remove the trash.

I got the cardigan, the tote with the lady, the Gee’s case to use as makeup case and it’s perfect for carrying to work, lastly the pink/brown/white sweatshirt that says Brown Skin Beauty. It’s really cute but it runs big. I agree there are a lot of nice pieces this year. Thank you for the video.

I had to make an order after I found this video, I didn't know that the collection was already out! I got the Queen cropped sweater, the blue sweatshirt with the multicolored man, the brown T shirt with the sista sun, and the black T shirt with the multicolored boxes. I knew about Black Men Smile before, they are on IG, very cool stuff there as well. I didn't see the cardigan on Target's site tho, that's weird, maybe it's sold out? I also wish they had the artists names on the actual clothes tag, they need their shine too, dang. Our style is simpatico, I love it. Thanks for sharing!

Hi, I'm in the Bay Area California and I was annoyed when I saw the display way further down instead in the front of the store -where it normally is. I got the Queen sweatshirt.
They should have put it in the front and just let people complain.
Ever since the vast numbers of Americans believed the lies centered around Pride 2023 merchandise, Target has taken a step back with all ethnic and sexually oriented merchandise.
The Black History Month merchandise still has a number of wonderful pieces made by black designers. However, it like Latino Heritage, will now be placed in different areas of the store instead of in the front.
Stores receive quanties and designs based on their volumes. If you want a chance at the full assortment, go to a larger store on the first or second day of the release.
I totally agree, I remember that. It is sad that this is still happening. I always shop the pride collection because people dislike it. I live in an area where I can go to other locations to get a different experience.

Yes I was upset that Target put the ‘Black History’ section all the way in the back right in front of the dressing room.
AND it was a very very small section.

Target is giving into the pressure of people complaining about the BHM and Pride collections. I want them to not.
Target was kind of janky this year with some things. A lot of things were in the back of the store. Nice display, but in the womens section in the back. It seems like they gave in to the haters, who didn't like certain items being displayed in the front of the store. The very fact they are stating "by a black team artist", tells me that the person may not be black, and not from Target. If from a Target team artist, why not give them their flowers and support them out loud?
They gave in, and once you start giving it you will ALWAYS give in. You can't make everyone happy and it is bad business practice to try and do so.

Just because it says Black Artist Team member doesn’t actually acknowledge or mean if the artist is Black. The t-shirt with the grill teeth and disco ball really and the brown t-shirt that says Queen which you said that her face was cute looks like a target. Please look again.
When you learn to draw faces you make an oval and then put the lines across the front that look Target like.

The black history onto target correction was in the back of the store and most of the collection clothing was poorly made, only the men clothing was made a little bit better but now worth nothing. Do not buy shitty items because they made the word BLACK on it. It was shameful target need to just STOP trying because they just don’t care and it’s a money grab…..

This year I was annoyed that the items were in the back of the store. I also know some of the designers of previous Black History Collections and this has really elevated their business. Can Target do better absolutely but there is still a positive part in the collab.
That sounds good in theory but much harder to actually do in practice. The system is set up in a such a way that is almost impossible to do. During segregation times you could certainly do this. I shop Black owned business from big box retailers and their websites. Those small businesses benefit from it and I support that. Thanks for your feedback.
