I'm having the same issue! But since it's very rare it's difficult to diagnose. Also no stored codes. I was starting to look into ignition switches but maybe I'll just replace the clutch switch first. Thank you for publishing this! And nice catch!
Hi Sandy, had same issues on my 2015 A180d, after checking EIS, Starter relay etc... I came across your video, so I used snap on to read the clutch switch and it was at fault intermittently, thanks for the point in right direction 👍
Interestingly, an Insignia will still start with the position sensor plugged in, but not physically attached to the pedal. It brings up the 'service vehicle soon' fault & trips a code.
Hi Sandy, thanks for sharing. I'm seeing the exact same issue on a A180d from 2015, however, it is automatic. Therefore, do you think it's the same culprit (providing the lady confirmed that it fixed it) or what would be the equivalent clutch switch part for an automatic gearbox but exact same symptom and A180d from 2015 1.5L engine? I'd really appreciate your feedback on this. Thank you again for sharing your findings.
You like the Topdon Sandy 👍, great diagnosis there and your so right about having a gab with the dealers parts guys , they know what they sell and how often 👍👍👍

Glad it helped Kevin 👍
Sensor must be two levels and 1st must be for cancelling cruise control maybe? Thanks Sandy

Well done Sandy 💪💪
Nice process thanks for sharing 👍
