Morrissey is the greatest lyricist in the history of rock n' roll. Yeah, I said it.
I don't agree. Isaac Brock. Isaac Brock has written the most depressing, honest and moving lyrics ever to be written. Seriously. Morrissey might be more charismatic (although many people also hate him xd), more interesting, he has an absolutely beautiful voice, he is an icon and his lyrics are amazing, but all my love for him won't change the fact that Brock's stuff is better than anything else.
@@gordonsh5964 what? xd
Along with Lennon
Here, Here
Bob Dylan and Elvis Costello.
Morriissey is one of the few artists who genuenly loves his fans.
well except the one he allegedly asked to murder
One word. Canceled. Someone who loves their fans doesn't cancel hundreds of gigs
@@nathanisaacs76 he cancelled a lot of those because he got cancer , I don't blame him
@i i Google him. He's cancelled I think 300 concerts to date. He needs his fans, and maybe loves them in some sort of sick way
well except the immigrant ones anyway.
I've only recently gotten into Morrissey and The Smiths, however ever since that moment I've been binge watching and listening to every single Morrissey & The Smiths song/album/interview/video I can find. It has literally taken up 95 percent of my free time (and I have a lot of that at the moment). I don't regret a second of it. It honestly feels like a Morrissey-shaped black hole swept me up before I could even realise what was happening. I can't get enough! I can't even begin to describe the pull Morrissey has on me. It's like I'm hypnotised, transfixed and mesmerised by his artistry, talent, voice, charisma and style whilst having no say in the matter. It was like the universe said 'You are going to love Morrissey and have no say in the matter dammit!'
I've never felt this sort of connection to another artist/songwriter before. It's like he 'gets' the pain of being forced to live an ordinary life you don't want when you have dreams of something better. I finally know why fellow fans love and worship this man to the point of obsession, where a single glance or touch from Morrissey can send people to the moon crying their eyes out with absolute delight.
Morrissey and his lyrics have saved my life.
I’m so glad you found him.
Welcome
Me too going through the same thing now. 👍
Moz finally has you oh you done it now. His music has been in my life near 40 years but at the rate you're going and today's technology you'll catch up. Suppose you don't rely on flyers? Lol welcome to a wonderful journey. Glad to see such passion good for you!
I'm now 50 and have listened to morrissey/the smiths since 14...I'm the same no one has ever came close to filling morrisseys shoes...utter perfection 👌
Morrissey at his best, Vauxhall and I was his best album imo
I love the part when Morrissey sings "and when you try to break my spirit it just won't happen because there is nothing left to break" VIVA MORRISSEY
Strange though cos it can't be a great place to be but oddly empowering!!
He often changes that line in each performance, sometimes he says "I wouldn't bother" or similar.
I love every split second of this song.. every chainsaw-split millisecond..
and if this song were made out of fibre, I would love all of them too..
When the album came out I did not listen to the last song for about a week,
and boy did holidays converge when I did..
I just love the part when Morrissey sings.
🖤
Words will never express how much I adore this man
As a morrissey fan from the start,he just draws you in and that's it for life 😁
@@mozarmy9471same!!!
I love how his fans will fight to touch fingertips but hug him so gently that it doesn’t interfere with his singing.
And I love Moz. He is a genius who didn’t sell out.
-Matt’s dad
i will always love you morrissey. through the bad press i dont care. you saved my life.
x
How much this man helped me through the toughest time in my life I could never turn my back on him regardless of how out of touch he's become with reality
So simply well said. Same here.
Just become the masses disagree doesn’t mean he isn’t right/right to voice an opinion on what he feels. He’s not senile. I’ll love him in my own sick way - forever.
He's always had bad press and he's always remained my greatest love. He has saved countless lives. I feel blessed to share the same time on earth with him.
The greatest lyricist and poet really, of our time.
Morrissey was so handsome during this period.
Morrissey is now a great singer. Really up there with the best. Sinatra, Elvis, Bowie.
Sinatra? do you mean Nancy??
BS he is, trev!
Bowie shouldn’t be up there with elvis and nancy, he’s good but not that good.
Surely he's always been a great singer.
All of this a matter of preference. But Moz greater than all of them.
This is the Morrissey song that makes me the happiest.
Roger Adamowicz nice post 😁
Roger Adamowicz rage
In a strange way, desperate happiest...
Me too
The album version of this is good, but his particular live version is incredible
There's something about his live performances
Which album is this from?
hzubovi1 Vauxhall and I from 1994 (it closes the record, but the whole thing is a great listen)
The performances on Introducing Morrissey were the best performances of any singer.
The increased tempo is spot on in this one!
So much better than the studio version. And the studio version is nothing short of marvelous. This gives me chills.
i dont care what people say about Morrissey, his music is the soundtrack of my life and im grateful for that. Latinamerica love you Mozz
I was there.
February 8th 1996, James Dean's birthday,
Blackpool Winter Gardens.
Amazing.. I have this on VHS somewhere. If I remember correctly it was filmed over two gigs, this one and the other in Sheffield. Vauxhall and I one of my fave albums
It's a shame that the world does not understand what you are my friend, Viva Morrissey number 1!!!!
❤Moz❤ forever ❤
To say this is live is unreal. What a sound 👍
When he sings "I've always been true to you "... holding hands with his fans, it sounds like an honest confession ...
Especially when he's sings 'Strange way'
I'm in a FB group where we were recently asking what our favourite Morrissey time frame was. For me, this is Moz at his sexiest. His manhood finally set upon him and he's wearing it very well! Oh, the agony and the ecstasy.
Yes he's magnificent here.
Absolutely!! (although the YA period is a strong contender!)
Be quite you silly cow it's about the Smiths court case and esspessilly Johnny Marr
agreed
Alain and Boz's guitar work on this one is epic. Miss Alain.
one of ALL time favorite live versions
I agree!
such a beautiful performance and the delivery in the live version is simply breathtaking
Still one of Morrissey's best solo tracks.
Absolument. Un auteur compositeur, interprète de haut niveau.
I love, "I could have mentioned your name / I could have dragged you in"
Johnny Marr used to work at a Speedway apparently. 'I've always been true you'
I'd still watch this on repeat even if I had epilepsy.
Great version. For me his band at this time were simply awesome
This song couldn't be better. I tear up every time I hear it.sorry.
I also teared up hearing it. thought i was the only one. Good to know it had the same effect on someone else.
You are keeping me alive for now
i know what you mean. he's made quarantine bearable for me
Some of the best video editing I've seen for a live performance. Whoever edited this should be working professionally in video production.
David Stewart The video editor know works doing educational videos for epileptics
Whoever made this...THANK YOU ! It's Amazing. MORRISSEY FOREVER
I always feel in his long catalogue of songs this one represents perfectly the spirit and character of Moz - for better or worse.
I dedicate this song to my great uncle. Acorn Dobson who rode speedway for Bell Vue. God bless Manchester and her greatest son Mozza.
They just let them get in the stage like that? Wow! Wish I was there!
Thanks, Morrissey. I will love you forever! ❤😘😍🥰👌👽
Maybe the best lyrics he wrote (and performed)
This is fucking beautiful
Goddamnit, someone take me back to 1995 please.
and when you try to break my spirit it won't work because there's nothing left to break, anymore... ♥️
I need to be able to separate the art from the artist . It’s so hard when you’ve saved my life so many times with your music , Steven Patrick ❤️
This is the best live video on you tube ✊
For me 👌
Strong contender.
All of the rumors
Keeping me grounded
I never said, I never said that they were
Completely unfounded
So when you slam
Down the hammer
Can you see it in your heart?
Can you delve so low?
And when you're standing
On my fingers
Can you see it in your heart? Ah
And when you try
To break my spirit
It won't happen
Because there's nothing left to break
Anymore
All of the rumors
Keeping me grounded
I never said, I never said that they were
Completely unfounded
You won't sleep
Until the earth that wants me
Finally has me
Oh you've done it now
You won't rest
Until the hearse that becomes me
Finally takes me
Oh you've done it now
And you won't smile
Until my loving mouth
Is shut good and proper
Forever
All of the rumors
Keeping me grounded
I never said, I never said that they were
Completely unfounded
And all those lies
Written lies, twisted lies
Well, they weren't lies
They weren't lies
They weren't lies
I never said
I never said
I could have mentioned your name
I could have dragged you in
Guilt by implication
By association
I've always been true to you
In my own strange way
I've always been true to you
In my own sick way
I'll always stay true to you
And when you try to break my spirit it just won't happen cause there's nothing left to break
My favorite Speedway video!!
This man is a genius...❤ Moz ❤
Get well soon Morrissey and live forever.
I remember watching this VHS tape when it came out. I always make it a point to listen to an artist's live version close the date when the studio version was released; it is usually the best and this one is not the exception. Speedway was the very last track of Vauxhall & I, released in 1994, and the video came out 2 yrs later
I watch a live video like this and I think, what is my favorite Morrissey song - this, Tomorrow, Boy Racer..... endless
Legendary
I Love You Morrissey!
Pinche Morrissey TE AMO ❤️ TRUE TO YOU! X SIEMPRE 💘
All (!) I wish is that I've been there to hug Moz and to breathe the intensity of the past

The beyond best!
Mozzer and John Lydon are the only punk legends who have remained authentic and true to themselves in the face of mainstream media/record companies, and who stayed angry. True Irish blooded English heroes.
God I love Morrissey
Temazo del maestro.
Breathtaking
The Man! 🙌🏼✨
A most unique person in all history. So magnetic, dynamic. Amazing & mesmerizing. Thanks!
Long Live Moz!
Gorgeous Moz. Thanks for this.

Amazing song
Bloody hell the man is gorgeous
Talent, creative genius, and good looks all in one person.
In my own sick way, I've always been true to you...
One of the greatest lines ever....
In my strange way (s here we come)
The Morrissey I know don’t care if you like or hate his music… But if you do like it, here it is..or not??🎶🎶🔝🔝🔝
Briliant
Amazing ❤❤
2:03 - 2:07 beautiful
The greatest!
Rocka billy Morrissey will always be the Best Morrissey Era !!
I'm quite certain that was at the Empress Ballroom, Blackpool, about February 95 (*searches for ticket*) and, if it was, I was there. I managed to sneak a camera in, despite being patted down on the way in . . Great gig; Marion were support.
World Of Morrissey Tour btw
HOT VIDEO!! Thank you thank you thank you!!
Me gusta más esta versión que la nueva!! Es más movida y eso es perfecto
That was brilliant.
Favourite video of the moz!
Mi VIDAAAAAAAAAA TE AMO 💖 💕 ❤!!!
What a haircut 😍😍😍
I guess ever since Wolverhampton '88 the venue staff are instructed to allow fans on stage, at a rate of precisely 7 per minute?
It was filmed in Blackpool and because they were filming it, they allowed us on, but I nearly rugby tackled him. It was a good gig
I love him. Hope he gets well soon.
DJdext all looks well with Moz at the moment. The shows lately have been absolutely flaming.
Mi héroe, mi todo.
Morrisey: "No one loves me..." (dozens of fans swarm the stage to kiss and hug him, and bouncers go into overdrive)
Es un hecho indiscutible ... todos quieren tocar al rey
Performance incrível
This and How Soon Is Now are the songs I most wanted to hear live but when I saw him he didn't play this one. :(
You have my most sincere condolences...
Essa música é simplesmente poderosa, atmosférica e intensa. Amo demais.
Love You Forever

Heath kirchart lives on
Great part. Great song.
It's hard for me to listen this song without imaging Kirchart transitions!
Yes!!! I discovered the smiths at 15 when really sorry came out and arto used handsome devil
Lovely part with delightful soundtracks
Fuck yes
Vauxhall and I = A+ album. Maybe only edged out slightly by Viva Hate...
think twice before sharing? I refuse to have pause for thought when it comes to sharing
He sings it so much better these days. Much prefer his latter voice too the smiths/ early solo career.
complete concert please
