Babymetal has been a band since 2010. They began as a subunit of the Japanese idol group Sakura Gakuin, and broke off from the group in 2013. Originally it consisted of Su-Metal, Yuimetal, and Moametal. Yuimetal left in 2018 due to health reasons. The third girl in this video is one of a trio of dancers known as the Avengers who performed with the band from 2019-2023. They now have a new member named Momometal who officially joined in April and was one of the Avengers. They have a backing band called the Kami Band, which is a rotation of professional musicians.
Nobody ever seems to notice that they are dancing on an elevated platform that is moving in two dimensions while they dance- and they are making it look like nothing! I admit, there's a lot going on in this video, but them making this all look so easy is evidence of how hard they work. Saw them in Dallas last year, and they were just as amazing as I expected.
@@ksbrst2010 There's a few more bands from Japan even more successful and popular than Babymetal but Babymetal is a well known name. They're pretty much love them or hate them. I do like how they stopped lipsyncing unlike when they first started because when they did come out they were a gimmick. But they have improved especially after they stopped lypsyncing. The backup singers Moa and Yui were supposed to be screamers as well but they never did scream, it was always on a track.
@@lightyagami5294 ik with Momo joining she actually screams and its not the track so they're still improving as they age. you cant really expect 16-20 year olds to fry their vocal cords by the time theyre 25 so it makes sense they wouldnt so young, a lot of metal singers kill their vocal cords and they cant perform anymore.
@sarahrose4945 in their younger years, they mostly had 15 to 35min shows compared to the average artist with an hour or longer. Nowadays, their shows are 1 hr to 1.5hrs. They have been singing and being trained to sing since they were in kindergarten! So no, the 2 girls never did the screaming vocals. To believe that, you're fooling yourself. Su-Sama did scream a few times and you can tell when she does it while live. Since they've been trained in the art of singing and dancing since they were that young, they know how to sing without blowing their chords.
@@lightyagami5294 read my comment again. we’re not talking about singing nor did i ever say they did scream. I said momo does scream bc she does. There’s many videos of her screaming live. And screaming WILL fry your vocal cords eventually. many trained artists have fried their vocal cords like that trained or not. And again, i was talking about Momo.
BABYMETAL is a Japanese group created in 2010, its musical genre is “Kawaii Metal” and is characterized by fusing metal rock with other genres such as J-pop, Techno, alternative rock, etc.
Su-metal has been my celebrity crush since like 2011. Finally got to see Babymetal live last year, and it was phenomenal. The line into the venue went around three entire blocks, and this was only a small scale concert in Brisbane, Australia.
Good reaction. Welcome to the crazy universe of BabyMetal. BabyMetal is an atypical heavy metal group, because they are idols. In Japan, idols are often paired with pop music (Jpop), and Babymetal was actually a subgroup of a larger idol group called Sakura Gakuin. Sakura was made up of girls between 10 and 15 years old dedicated to Jpop. When SuMetal (the singer) started she was 12 years old and MoaMetal/YuiMetal (the backup singers) were only 10 years old. Sakura represented the Japanese high school and the girls were distributed in clubs (traditional Japanese extracurricular activities such as cooking, swimming, basketball, sewing, etc.). One of the producers, a lover of heavy metal, saw that Su's singing could perfectly be used in metal and asked permission from the Mother House (Amuse) to create the heavy music club, proposing an experiment in fusion between metal and the pop. Nobody, as they themselves have confessed, had much hope for its outcome, but they gave it the green light and thus BabyMetal, Sakura Gakuin's heavy music club, was born. The first songs were intended for girls between 10 and 15 years old, who were Sakura's target audience. However, their quality and the fusion between pop and metal attracted attention beyond this audience and they began to frequent their metal concerts... a shocking audience of children and metalheads. And it worked, it worked so well that they began to support groups like Metallica, Red Hot, BMTH or Lady Gaga, I seem to remember, on their tours in Japan. And the Red Hot singer commented that he was impressed to realize that part of the public came to see them, not them. And so the base of BabyMetal fans grew. Sakura was a group in which, upon turning 15, the members had to leave (to pursue their careers elsewhere) and the producer (KobaMetal) requested permission again to create BabyMetal as an independent group. Success was already beginning to become a reality in Asia, so they authorized it, although Moa and Yui (they were still 13 years old) would also continue to be part of other Sakura clubs (I don't know when the poor girls studied, but they did). In 2014 a milestone would arrive in the group's history. They were already an established metal group in Asia that sold out concerts, but they had not yet made the leap to the West. In that year his song "Gimme Chocolate" rose to fame on UA-cam (currently 182M views) and attracted the attention of the producers of the Sonisphere festival. KobaMetal had doubts about taking the step, since their musical proposal (Kawaii Metal or Cute Metal, a genre of which they are considered creators) might not be accepted in the West and the metalheads who went to the Sonisphere had a reputation for saying goodbye to very bad manners to the artists they didn't like (even with bottles full of urine), but they were offered to go to one of the secondary stages (about 5000 spectators) and they ended up accepting. But the success of BabyMetal on UA-cam and the fact that all the concerts they were going to give in Europe were sold out in a few days, convinced the producers to take them to the main stage, where they would share with groups like Metallica, for example. How many girls (they were between 16 and 14 years old at that time) were "terrified" before going out, and they didn't know what scared them more: that they wouldn't understand their music and they would have to run away or that when they went out on stage it would be empty. . But the story was very different, not only was it not empty, but more than 50,000 metalheads, an estimated 95% of whom had never heard of them, finished their fifth and last song chanting "another one, another one." And that's how they achieved popularity in the West as well. They currently have 4 albums on the market: -Babymetal (2013): Their first album and the most childish of all, since they were between 15-13 years old when it came out and had energetic, positive music that left a smile on their faces. -Metal Resistence (2016): an album that, without losing the essence of the first, shows more mature music, going from childhood to adolescence. Songs like Karate were a large part of his presentation in the West. -Metal Galaxy (2018): a turning point in its style. Without abandoning their energy, they turned their attention to new forms of metal fusion (hip-hop, dance music, Hindu music or European folklore, among others), projecting a much more mature music in keeping with their age, which was already around 21 years old. of Su and the 18 of Moa (unfortunately Yui left the group due to health problems). Pa Pa Ya is from this album. And now in 2023 they have just released their new album "The Other One", which is, again, totally different from what they have done until now (one of the hallmarks of BabyMetal is that their songs are usually very different some from others (although they are all positive adrenaline releases). Currently BabyMetal is considered the most important Heavy Metal group in Japan (I'm not saying the best, that's for everyone to decide) and the most influential in history in the West (it has reached levels that no other Japanese heavy group has reached before). ). The journey through the Babymetal galaxy may be long, but it is certainly entertaining and with a few songs it drags you with a smile into the fox hole
@@armitage9 They were essentially complimenting the thoroughness of your explanation. I think I might classify Dir en grey as being more influential than BabyMetal, though. I'm definitely not saying you're wrong about that, but I'm not sure if BabyMetal would have been as successful as they were, especially in the west, without Dir en grey bringing attention to Japanese rock and metal in general starting with the 2006 Family Values Tour. It's impossible to know for sure how BabyMetal's career would have gone without earlier Japanese bands like Dir en grey building popularity outside Japan, of course, but I can remember starting to hear a lot more about Japanese music coming out of more mainstream sources immediately following that tour. I even remember Jonathan Davis doing an interview about their "little singer that rips his mouth open and bleeds everywhere."
The girls do this dancing for the entire show. Every song. Ive seen more than a few American musicians are who are just amazed. These little girls probably have the stamina to beat your ass. They may not have power but they will be running circles around you for an hour.
Great reaction, thanks and welcome to BABYMETAL. This music video has the studio recording over the visuals from a concert called BABYMETAL Awakens - The Sun also rises (day 2) held at Yokohama Arena in late June 2019 with a sold out crowd of about 17K people (that's the arena's nominal capacity). Funnily enough their next two concerts will be held right there. 😁 "PA PA YA!" is a summer festival fun song about a Thai spicy green salad and it never fails to put one in a good mood when it's needed. They are very diverse musically as they like to mix any music genre with metal. So, always expect the unexpected. Until next time! 🤘🦊
I love babymetal. They absolutely have been the best performing band I have seen in concert. I will be going again, they put on a excellent show and know how to play the crowd. They are the one band I recommend seeing in concert It's an absolute blast to see them live.
YES!!! BABYMETAL are just a phenomenal group and they just bring so much joy and fun. You can pick virtually any song of theirs and never be disappointed! I'm sure you'll get plenty of song suggestions but my personal picks would be the Trilogy of Lights songs (Starlight, Shine and Arkadia)!
Officially, BABYMETAL is just the three ladies, and they are from Japan. Their backing band is all male. They actually have two backing bands - the Eastern kami band (Japanese), which backs them in Asia and some European shows, and the Western kami band (American), which backs them in the Americas and some European shows. BABYMETAL is HUGE! They are Japan's biggest musical export since X-Japan in the 80s. They started out in 2010, when lead singer Su-metal (Suzuka Nakamoto) was just 12 years old, and then-backups Moametal (Moa Kikuchi) and Yui-metal (Yui Mizuno) were 11. Yui left in 2018 due to health reasons, and her spot was taken by a rotating trio of dancers called the Avengers (Avenger Kano Fujihara is the Avenger in this video) from 2018 to 2023. In early 2023, one of the Avengers Momoko Okazaki (now Momo-metal) was elevated to full member status, and they are once again an official trio. They completed a US Tour co-headlining with Dethklok in 2023 (I caught the show in St. Louis; I also saw the original trio in Chicago back in 2016). They have done collabs with several international superstars. Just in 2023, they did collabs with Tom Morello (Rage Against the Machine) and Lil' Uzi Vert. Previously, they did collabs with Bring Me the Horizon, Tim Henson and Scott LaPage (Polyphia), Alyssa White-Gluz (Arch Enemy), Joachim Broden (Sabaton), Dragonforce, and appeared in a video with Corey Taylor (Slipknot). The guest rapper in this video is F. Hero, one of the biggest rappers in Thailand. The song Pa-Pa-Ya does make reference to the papaya fruit and salad, but it more broadly refers to the popularity of summer festivals, where those dishes are symbolic of summer fun.
Unexpected. I got hooked from their "Give me Chocolate". But you should also listen to their songs from the First Take. Their voices sound heavenly there
BABYMETAL has been active for 13 years, but even SU-METAL, the oldest member of the group, is only 26 years old. Their album METAL GALAXY, which includes this song, became the first Asian artist to reach No. 1 on Billboard's Top Rock Albums. The song features Thai rapper F. Hero, and BABYMETAL has also previously collaborated with BRING ME THE HORIZON, Arch Enemy, TPolyphia's im Henson and Scott LePage, Sabaton's JOAKIM BRODEN, Tom Morello, and Lil Uzi Vert. BABYMETAL is very different from any other band; there is an excitement that can only be experienced with BABYMETAL.
13 years now (from about 11 & 13 years old?) and one of the best LIVE bands in that time - with their own unique genre - always guaranteed to surprise - more pls!
It is a bout a spicy papaya salad, you know, life is better with the sweet and spice mashed together. But it's about a summer street festival too, where you sing and dance, it's a metaphor for life. Sing, Dance, take the sweet and spice and enjoy life.
Saw them live and the mix of people in the crowd was amazing, bunch of little girls and some huge bearded metal dudes, was one of the funnest gigs I ever went to
Went to their concert in Copenhagen last year, sickest fucking thing ever. I can tell you nothing compares to being in the crowd at a babymetal concert. The crowd control they have is insane and fun as fuck. Everyone is in sync and its just a great atmosphere overall. Loved it, going again next time their on tour.
Great reaction! In 2023, they performed 94 live concerts in 25 countries! - most of them sold out. I live in DC, but flew to Japan for their first concert and to Spain for their last one... No one else makes this 75 year old geezer do this. Welcome to the FOXHOLE 🦊🦊🦊
Little late to this reaction but love it. Babymetal has some of the most astonishing crowd reactions and interactions I've ever seen in any concert. They perform for tens of thousands at peak.
There is a LOT to unpack when it comes to Baby Metal. I know that the commenters will fill you in admirably, so all I am going to say is that your next reaction should be to the MV of BxMxC, an amazing song and an amazing performance by BM. Once you see the video you will get it. After that, or do a doubleheader reaction to both, react to the live version of BxMxC and you will see exactly what I mean. I think you will be quite impressed.
5:23 In case of fire on stage... everyone needs to be on Rammstein concert at least once. They have fire... a lot of it. They even have hand flamethrower and flamethrower on wheels just to be sure there's enough.
Welcome to the Fox Hole. Babymetal has been around for 13 years now. They started as a subgroup of the japanese idol band Sakura Gakuin, as the Heavy Club (Sakura Gakuin was themed around school). They were 12, 11 and 11 when they started, and are now 26, 24 and 20 (one member changed). They are Su-Metal (26, lead singer and lyrics writer for the fourth album), Moametal (24, screaming and dancing) and Momometal (20, screaming and dancing) who replaced Yuimetal (24, screaming and dancing). They are VERY popular. Their first album got to number two in Bilboard Japan and toped the iTunes Metal in Germany. In 2016, they were the highest japanese band of history in the UK's Official Chart thanks to their second album and in 2019 they became the first ever asian act to top the Bilboard Rock Albums chart thanks to their third album. If you decide to continue reacting to Babymetal, I would suggest to check out how they started by watching their very first song: "Doki Doki Morning".
They are just the best concert i have been in my life! the first one was canceled when i was living in Hong Kong and covid started... many years later i finally atended to one in London and mannnnnnnnn, it was unbelievable. best bang for your buck ever! i still regreat not going both days.
Good first reaction and welcome to the BABYMETAL Foxhole.🦊Yes, they are a Japanese band formed in 2010, there were 3 original members (they were only 12 and 11 years old at the time) and we have watched them grow up and become one of the very best live acts on the planet. This performance was filmed on the second night at the start of their 2019 tour. BABYMETAL are Su-metal (lead vocalist), Moametal and Momometal (in charge of backing vocals, harmonies and mainly hyping and involving the crowd with their choreo). The original third member Yuimetal last performed in October 2017 and was absent for 12 months for health reasons until she announced she was still not fully recovered and would be leaving the band. Momometal, was revealed as the new official third member on 1st April 2023. F Hero was their guest for this song. He is a rapper from Thailand and very well known there, he flew in to Japan specially to perform on those first two nights of the tour. They performed in Bangkok in Thailand just a few months ago and F Hero made another special guest appearance. 'PA PA YA' is a summer festival song - and it really is about a spicy green papaya fruit salad. F Hero was rapping in Thai to the same rhythm as mixing the ingredients for the salad with a mortar and pestle. They are pretty much saying that, much like the salad, mixing the right spices into life will make that better too. BABYMETAL are like nothing you will have seen or heard before, they brought a fusion of great metal instrumentals coupled with JPop hooks, melodies and aesthetics to create their very own sub-genre ... and they have continued to develop and evolve from those beginnings. They don't limit themselves to any one main style or genre and you won't be able to pigeonhole or put them in any one box like you can with virtually every other band in the world, they are one of a kind and they invented their own genre and style that nobody has been able to copy successfully (some have tried, none came close) including bringing choreographed dancing to metal (but not as you might know it from pop acts where it is nearly always used just to fill the stage or give you almost naked girls (and boys) to look at to take your mind off often bland music). BABYMETAL's choreo helps with interpreting the song - a lyric or the meaning etc, but it is designed to involve and lead the crowd, to give them their cues when to jump, shout, pump their fists, chant and so on. BABYMETAL are complete masters of crowd control and crowd involvement. They are supported in live shows by the Kami Band - some of Japan's very best session musicians, each one of them a world class instrumentalist. A bit later than this concert in 2019 the Kami Band of the West (American musicians) were introduced and they have been supporting BABYMETAL on their more extended foreign tours since then. They have nearly 70 songs now, every one of them is different from the last. They have songs in virtually every metal genre but will mix in other musical styles and genres with the metal, often when you least expect it. Some songs lean towards their pop roots others are just good hard metal and they do everything in between - so if you don't like one song no problem - try another, the chances are you'll love it. Don't worry about not understanding the language (they do throw in the occasional English word or phrase and they have 4 songs in English) - there are countless songs supposedly sung in English that I can't make out what is being said (or that I wish I didn't understand). If BABYMETAL want you to feel a certain way or an emotion they will do it. As Su-metal once said when she was first finding out about metal and how she should appreciate it "Don't think. Feel."
I always see your comment on EVERY SINGLE reaction video of Babymetal. I respect and appreciate your dedication. I learned a lot myself thanks to your and others comments.
From some quick research it looks like this might have been a crowd of around 17k. They once sold out 2 nights back to back at the Tokyo Dome, which has space for 55,000 people.
BabyMetal began 2010 there were Suzuka Nakamoto age 12 Moa Kikuchi and Yui Mizuno. Both Moa and Yui were 11 years old All three girls were friends and classmates who attended an idol group (Sakura Gakuin) founded in 2010 by Amuse Talent Agency for girls 10 to 15. Themed around school life (they attended regular school as well) the girls would learn and train at vocals, dancing, public speaking and etiquette, etc., graduate at age 15 and then move onto whatever entertainment path they chose or that suited their talents. Key Kobayashi was a music producer for Amuse and heard Suzuka sing at age 9 and was impressed with her strong vocals and stage presence. Kobayashi was a fan of heavy metal but believed that the genre had become stale and tired (especially in Japan) with metal bands getting old Kobayashi believed the genre needed to be reborn (BabyMetal means the birth of a new metal genre). Kobayashi felt that Suzuka had the ability to front a metal band and that her vocals and presence could withstand the metal guitars and drums. The fusion of Jpop and Metal began. He placed Moa and Yui as backup singers/dancers and a phenomenon was about to result. At first Amuse showed little interest and the girls had financing mainly from Kobayashi. They performed at strip malls and small venues using clothes borrowed from friends and family. No money for a real band they had friends dressed in homemade skeleton costumes pretending to play instruments to a backtrack. They became a sensation (these young ladies paid their dues). Amuse saw the potential and in 2012 hired the best session musicians Japan had to offer (The Kami Band) who tours with them today (now includes world class musicians from the USA for tours outside of Asia). If you choose to explore more of BabyMetal I suggest reacting to LIVE performance videos as this is where they shine. They have over 60 LIVE songs/performances and each one is different. They are fearless exploring many genres and have the respect of the legends of Metal such as Metallica, Slipknot, Rob Zombie, The Red Hot Chili Peppers, Judas Priest and more. Avoid Glastonbury LIVE performances as the sound production by the BBC (who was in charge of that festival did a terrible job - mics not turned on, incorrect volume levels, etc.) Suggest reacting to these HQ Pro Shot videos of LIVE performances for a start. Layedbak finally discover Babymetal. I'm waiting for this for a long time. This is a small part of what this band can do. Next reaction "Road of resistance - live in Japan"
"Who are they?" Babymetal are Japan's #1 International Group!! This song is from their 3rd Album "Metal Galaxy" that hit #1 in the USA on Billboards "Top Rock Album" chart in 2019 and these Ladies have been turning the Metal World on its Ear for more than a Decade!! More Babymetal Always!! Put your Kitsune UP!! Po!
One of the few shows I've seen live and immediately wanted to go see again. Most concerts are simple bucket list items for me, but Babymetal is unreal live.
Road of resistance goes hard by baby metal. So glad ya didn’t start with gimme chocolate. Is a hard first listen for some. Took me a while to warm up to it now I love it.
been following you for years and never did i expect you to react to Babymetal. Such a talented and storied metal band, definitely look more into them if you liked it.
Welcome & Thanks from Japan 有難う💛。 This song was played in every show in their 2023 North American tour (29 gigs with DETHKLOK) and EU/UK tour (20 gigs). BABYMETAL is the best musical phenomenon I have ever experienced in my 68-year-long life. (Before BM, I was a stubborn jazz / funk lover) We say "Japan is the country obsessed by Rock Music". The history is very long and the obsession started in 1966 when Beatles visited Japan and held 5 concerts at Budokan. Speaking of hard rock / heavy metal music, a number of bands started to come to Japan since as early as 1970s : Led Zeppelin / Grand Funk Railroad (1971), Deep Purple (1972), Queen (1975), Kiss (1977), Cheap Trick / Van Halen / Scorpions (1978), Judas Priest (1978/79) and so on. Now, any type of rock can be enjoyed here, especially by many all-female or women-fronted bands. They are daughters of American / European rock, for sure. (Many are grand-daughters in terms of age.) Uh-oh, we also say "Japan is the country obsessed by Jazz". It had started earlier than rock 😄
And F. Hero just payed it all back with Leave it all behind. A Collab with the taiwanese Bodyslam, Babymetal and himself and each side add itss best sides into the song.
OH HELL! Never expected baby metal on here. I miss these girls and their music. Edit; if you do do more babymetal, I’d recommend checking out the colab they done with bring me the horizon right before they went in hiatus.
Babymetal started out as a sub-unit of a Japanese idol group but became independent from them some time later. During live performance they are supported by the Kami band. I have seen them first time in 2018 at Rock am Ring and they slayed it. In May last year I have seen them again as support for Swedish power metal band Sabaton. The Sabaton singer worked together with Babymetal in the past. And Babymetal is the first Japanese metal band to rank in the US Billboard 200 (the album charts).
Nice! Welcome to Babymetal, glad you enjoyed this one. Babymetal are 13 year veterans of the show biz, who started out in 2010 at the age of 12/11. They are an absolute powerhouse and an amazing live performance act, with 9 years of world tours, 60+ songs, and 4 studio albums under their belts. Known for fusing j-pop and heavy metal, these gals are absolutely amazing. I hope you get more Patreon requests for Banymetal! If you’re open to comment suggestions: 1): Road of Resistance (Official Live): This will give you a solid idea of what Babymetal is all about on the metal side. 2). BxMxC (Budokan 2021): Heavy AF rap metal. 3). Metali (Official MV): Ft. Tom Morello of Rage Against the Machine, this is their newest single from Aug 2023, and a fun festival song. 🤘🦊
One of life's little pleasures as a Babymetal fan is getting to share one someone's first experience of Babymetal. Babymetal has been around since '10 or '12, sorry I've just forgotten. They have a pretty incredible history and should you chose to react to some more of their videos you'll undoubtably see some epic performances in front of huge crowds when they were literally just young teenagers. Obviously they are still going strong now. To me this song is just an epic summer party song and I don't get too hung up on the food stuff. You did a great job with this reaction. Comments, engagement, great vibes. It was fun to watch and as Babymetal tend to leave people feeling good I'd personally love to see you do some more reactions. A personal favorite is the 2023, performance of Monochrome at the PIA Arena in Japan. You got my sub friend and I look forward to future reactions. Monochrome: ua-cam.com/video/xAZeBm0o7Jo/v-deo.html
Welcome to the Foxhole! 🤘🦊🤘 Most of the truly important information has been or will be given in other comments, so I like to give the fun titles and nicknames given by The ONE (Babymetal’s Fan-base) as well as other (un)important information. BABYMETAL started as an experimental sub-unit of the larger JPop/JRock group Sakura Gakuin. Suzuka Nakamoto\Su-Metal (Vocals and Dance): Angel of Song, Queen Su, Queen of Kawaii, Metal Queen, and Metal Goddess. Before Sakura Gakuin, she performed in a stage production of "The Adventurers" and was a member of the JPop trio, Karen Girls. Fun Fact: Bullfrogs are her Kryptonite Yui Mizuno\Yuimetal (Scream and Dance) Former member since 2018: Angel of Dance, Princess Yui, Tomato Princess, Tomato-Kun, Kawaii Princess and Devourer of Souls (or at least she stares into your soul). Yui had a minor role as a child actor in a Japanese TV Drama before joining Sakura Gakuin. She has cute, chubby cheeks. Fun Fact: Yui is tickled by Bullfrogs. ** WARNING ** Do NOT, ever, under any circumstances call her “small”, "smol", “short” or “tiny” (same rule applies to Moametal). Moa Kikuchi\Moametal (Scream and Dance): Angel of Love\Smile, Queen of Hearts, Princess Moa, Kawaii Princess, Super Moa-chan, Maiden of Mischief, and Headmistress of Hedabon. She has huge dimples and a smile that melts the hardest of hearts. Fun Fact: Loves to troll Su-metal on-stage with little pranks as well as torment Su-metal with Bullfrogs. Momoko Okazaki\Momometal (Scream and Dance): Angel of Joy, Kawaii Princess, Princess Peach, Vampire Slayer, Kabuki Queen. Also a Sakura Gakuin graduate. Was a contestant on the Korean reality survival program "Girls Planet 999" (which thankfully for The ONE, she was eliminated from early on) and performed in a stage musical production of "Black Butler". Momoko was the only “Avenger” (see below) to perform in the “10 BABYMETAL Budokan” shows in 2021 and was officially named Momometal and made a permanent member in April 2023. She deserves the spot! Fun Fact: Momoko's father is a popular comedian in Japan known for making dead-pan jokes. Momoko worked very hard to make her way without using his name as a crutch. BLACK BABYMETAL: Yuimetal and Moametal performing as a duet while Su-metal takes a breather. Also known as “MoiMoi”. There are 4 BBM songs (GJ!, Onedari Daiskusen, 4 No Uta\Song 4, and Sis. Anger) some of which Moametal performed solo a few times after Yui's departure. Now that Momometal is a member, we are hoping for more BBM songs with MoMoa! But only the Fox God knows. AVENGERS: 3 Dancers who took turns performing the choreography in Yuimetal’s spot after her departure. They were not official members did not have microphones and were not even named. It was the fans who quickly figured out who they were and you will see them in live performances between 2018 and 2021. They were: Momoko Okazaki (see above). Riho Sayashi: Suzuka’s former rival at Actors School Hiroshima, often competing for the same roles. Former “Ultimate Ace” of the JPop Idol group Morning Musume. Now a solo artist. Kano Fujihara: (performing in this video) Former Member of Sakura Gakuin, the school-aged Idol group that BABYMETAL was born out of. Like Suzuka and Moa before her, Kano was Student Council President her last year in Sakura Gakuin and like Yui, was considered arguably the best dancer in SG during her time there. She is now a member of the Idol group @onefive, which is comprised of 4 Sakura Gakuin graduates (Kano, Momo, Soyo and Gumi). Kano only performed with BABYMETAL in Japan as she could not travel, likely due to her commitments to Sakura Gakuin and the then developing @onefive. We are #notacult. Kitsune Da O! 🤘🦊🤘Y
Babymetal is one of the biggest Japanese metal bands in the world and they just recently completed a '94 date world tour which consisted of Europe the UK Asia Australia Canada and the US They have been around since 2010 their protection team is second to none and they constantly come up with some of the sickest stage designs you'll ever see
Welcome to babymetal, They started when they were very young, (13 for the singer, 11 for the other 2) they are now 25 and 23 respectively. They are a Kawaii Metal Band. They have toured with Metal legends all over the world. If you want to know if it is crazy at the concert, yes. Now that you have gone down the Japanese rock/ Metal hole, just keep going! any babymetal song is Fire. then look up Band maid, Hanabie, Nemophila.
They started in 2010. lead singer was 13, other girls were 11. The band are called the Kami(commie) Band. Thera Latest album was released in March of 23
OMG HE DOESN'T KNOW!!! One of the top music reactors and I never even realized he hasn't fallen down the Babymetal rabbit hole! Bro, there is so much awesomeness you are about to expericence!
Just saw them recently. They were opened by Dethklok the live band based off the Metalocalypse cartoon. Fantastic concert. This is one of my favorite songs of theirs too. Was great seeing it played live.
This could be filmed at the Tokyo Dome which as a capacity of 57,000. My grandson says it's at the Budokan in Tokyo which as a capacity of 14,000. Babymetal sell out both venues regularly.
The three vocal/dance performers are all women. The rapper, F.Hero is a guest performer. The backing musicians are the Kami Band. The current incarnations is made up of American guys. They were the band who were engaged to tour with the girls when BABYMETAL went overseas. The original Japanese Kami Band backed them at shows in Japan until recently. They seem to have been replaced by the American version.
FINALLY! You were one of the creators I was waiting for to react to BabyMetal!! Ever since you started doing metal reactions I gained more and more hope :)
What makes me happiest about Babymetal is how much they've just been embraced by metalheads. I know the metal community has a reputation for being very dour and serious and not exactly welcoming of experimental or novel acts. But Babymetal have had huge success in the West, and their praises sung by everyone from Metallica to Rob Zombie. I first saw them as an opening act for Sabaton (who are another band worth checking out if you haven't seen them already) who, being a band whose whole gimmick is war history, you'd expect their crowd to not exactly be welcoming to a band whose gimmick is bubblegum J-pop meets metal. But the crowd LOVED them!
Glad to see you finally reacting to some BABYMETAL! You will not regret diving down this hole, they have such great music. Can't wait to see you react to more
I saw them when they opened for the chili peppers back in 2017 and they were insane and it was even better that the crowd had no idea who they were and were into them so fast

Aye Babymetal! So excited, I recommend BxMxC!
@LayedBakDFR you should react to some playboi carti please
BIZKIT vs MIRSA GBB loopstation 2023! You won’t regret it bro….
Babymetal is the International most succesful japanede Band.
Perfect and easy to understand guide.🤘🦊
I call it bad ass
"Kawaii" is Japanese for cute, so "cute metal "
Su-metal has been my celebrity crush since like 2011. Finally got to see Babymetal live last year, and it was phenomenal. The line into the venue went around three entire blocks, and this was only a small scale concert in Brisbane, Australia.
SHIT, see oh easy that was to say, just say SHIT
How many girls (they were between 16 and 14 years old at that time) were "terrified" before going out, and they didn't know what scared them more: that they wouldn't understand their music and they would have to run away or that when they went out on stage it would be empty. .
But the story was very different, not only was it not empty, but more than 50,000 metalheads, an estimated 95% of whom had never heard of them, finished their fifth and last song chanting "another one, another one."
And that's how they achieved popularity in the West as well.
They currently have 4 albums on the market:
-Babymetal (2013): Their first album and the most childish of all, since they were between 15-13 years old when it came out and had energetic, positive music that left a smile on their faces.
Damn dude dropped the whole biography….. good shit…. Awesome band too

I don't quite understand your comments (my native language is Spanish and Google Translator gives me a strange translation...)

That man is F.HERO, a famous rapper who has great influence in the Thai rapper industry.❤
"PA PA YA!" is a summer festival fun song about a Thai spicy green salad and it never fails to put one in a good mood when it's needed.
They are very diverse musically as they like to mix any music genre with metal. So, always expect the unexpected.

You 100% will not regret diving into their discography. Incredibly talented, hard working group. Also extremely entertaining lol

@@ShiroIchiro A fox hole, one might say.
They have also done a live cover of "Painkiller" with Rob Halford.

I saw them live back in September and it was one of the craziest shows ever. They were touring with Dethklok.
I saw them in Chicago a couple of months ago. It was incredible!

Babymetal is the most bang for your buck shows you’ll ever see… never lazy choreo never lazy musicianship
Little late to this reaction but love it. Babymetal has some of the most astonishing crowd reactions and interactions I've ever seen in any concert. They perform for tens of thousands at peak.
You can't go too wrong with any live Babymetal performance. Guaranteed to put a smile on your face.

God I love babymetal. So much. I clicked bc I saw them first thing.
I've never been a huge fan of heavy metal or J-pop, but BabyMetal blends these genres with such massive energy that it's impossible not to love.
The Rapper is from Thailand who did a guest gig for Baby Metal. Papaya Salad is a massive dish in different asain countries.
They even have hand flamethrower and flamethrower on wheels just to be sure there's enough.
honestly seeing this song live is an amazing feeling
@@Leslie-Risse Thanks I learned a lot from other peoples' comments, I'm just passing that on for anybody else who may be interested.
Avoid Glastonbury LIVE performances as the sound production by the BBC (who was in charge of that festival did a terrible job - mics not turned on, incorrect volume levels, etc.)
Suggest reacting to these HQ Pro Shot videos of LIVE performances for a start.

(Many are grand-daughters in terms of age.)
Uh-oh, we also say "Japan is the country obsessed by Jazz". It had started earlier than rock 😄
One of the best concerts I've ever er been to. They go so hard it's astounding.
Ditto. Don't know what part was best. Maybe when Su looked down on the floor and said "Sit Down" and they DID.
oh boy have you opened a can of wonderful music, also see Band Maid, Lovebites, Trident, and a dozen more all female bands from Japan
Hanabie
Nemophila, Aldious, Gacharic spin, Hagane, East of Eden
And F. Hero just payed it all back with Leave it all behind. A Collab with the taiwanese Bodyslam, Babymetal and himself and each side add itss best sides into the song.
bodyslam is thailand band not taiwanese
OH HELL! Never expected baby metal on here. I miss these girls and their music.
Edit; if you do do more babymetal, I’d recommend checking out the colab they done with bring me the horizon right before they went in hiatus.
Got to see them in October in SLC, one of the best concerts I’ve ever been to!
If you’re open to comment suggestions:
1): Road of Resistance (Official Live): This will give you a solid idea of what Babymetal is all about on the metal side.
2). BxMxC (Budokan 2021): Heavy AF rap metal.
3). Metali (Official MV): Ft. Tom Morello of Rage Against the Machine, this is their newest single from Aug 2023, and a fun festival song.

I love seeing first time reactions as well
Welcome to the Foxhole! 🤘🦊🤘
Most of the truly important information has been or will be given in other comments, so I like to give the fun titles and nicknames given by The ONE (Babymetal’s Fan-base) as well as other (un)important information.
Fun Fact: Bullfrogs are her Kryptonite
Yui Mizuno\Yuimetal (Scream and Dance) Former member since 2018: Angel of Dance, Princess Yui, Tomato Princess, Tomato-Kun, Kawaii Princess and Devourer of Souls (or at least she stares into your soul).
They were:
Momoko Okazaki (see above).

Now that you have gone down the Japanese rock/ Metal hole, just keep going! any babymetal song is Fire. then look up Band maid, Hanabie, Nemophila.
everything these guys and girls do is awesome. They have larger crowds than this. Mindblowing shows.
You must definitely react to their BxMxC song! This is their the most rap song combined with really heavy metal. You will definitely love it!

Need more BABYMETAL SOOOOON
ベビーメタルには
素晴らしい歌🎤が沢山あるし、全てが本物です。
I have waited SO LONG for this reaction and have commented sooo many times. THANK YOU!!!
Aye Babymetal! So excited, I recommend BxMxC!
Just saw them recently. They were opened by Dethklok the live band based off the Metalocalypse cartoon. Fantastic concert. This is one of my favorite songs of theirs too. Was great seeing it played live.
Great reaction. Love baby metal. Love to see SU, Moa And Momo metal. Love from sweden.
Great reaction. I was thoroughly entertained.
💪🏻😬🤳🏻
MORE *BABYMETAL* REACTIONS!! *🎥*
Please. 😜🙏🏻
They started the project when they were 14 and 13 yo... That tells you how young they still are and have been on the music scene for 10 years
FINALLY! You were one of the creators I was waiting for to react to BabyMetal!! Ever since you started doing metal reactions I gained more and more hope :)
I saw them in Vancouver along with Dethklok. Great show. The energy level at a Baby Metal show is just bananas and all you can do is just go with it.
I was lucky enough to see them live a few months back. they are fantastic performers
Someone couldn't have said it any better "when you and your bro makes a heavy metal band but your mum wants you to include your little sisters" 😂
Glad to see you finally reacting to some BABYMETAL! You will not regret diving down this hole, they have such great music. Can't wait to see you react to more
Lmfao that "oh hell nawww" accidental press had me dead laughing I had to pause.😂
Haha, wouldnt have imagined you reacting to babymetal. Nice reaction, babymetal is a really good band

Babymetal ALWAYS goes this hard. You're in for a treat. Definitely check out the new live video they did with Bring Me The Horizon! It's so good!
MORE BABYMETAL REACTIONS this shit was fire 🔥
Gonna need more Babymetal reactions ASAP
Dope reaction homie , "KARATE" Live is another absolute banger 🔥
BABYMETAL RULES dude
check out headbanger as well, they're always popping off
I saw them when they opened for the chili peppers back in 2017 and they were insane and it was even better that the crowd had no idea who they were and were into them so fast
