Nice quality and mega versatile amp... But the guy demonstrating is just amazing...!! I mean how can he play all those funky chops - AND fiddle with the tone controls at the same time... Got me.. There's so much talent out there....
I had this amp as a jazz major in college. Dorm levels? Man, it really needs to be loud to get an open sound. I found it too powerful and I always had a closed-in kind of sound that frustrated me.
I've also found you can get LOTS of different tones out of this amp the EQ actually DOES something as apposed to some other amps I've tried. (ahem ....marhall)
@geoff5665 Heavy? Deluxe Reverbs are 42 lbs... That's a grab-and-go weight for tube amps. My Fender Supersonic was about 60 pounds. Now THAT'S heavy for a 1x12.

excellent demo showing its limits;
A local shop has one of these used that I had the chance to play through over the weekend. My god I want it.

Clean sounds pretty good

check the the site for my reply, also consider a small solid state for a practice amp, I found fenders to bright sounding
Just bought this thing on Reverb for $650 ...
... a steal

According to google, 45 pounds. Not bad.
Lots of options maybe, but I heard perhaps 2 good sounds only...
Always leave both boosts on.
Dorm sound levels? heh NO .. not with out an attenuator.. I sold a Marshall TSL601 60w combo for this thing I swear its like twice as loud.
sin goes immediately in cruch
Sounds too thin on the lead channel
i dont really like the ninja boost, on the clean channel, sounds kind of weak from this demo
I had one, its a hot amp, not that warm sounding, if you like the mesa, keep it--
it has 6L6, not El;84's ,which give the rivera the harsh sound
EL34's in the Chubster 40... Mesa 5:35 has EL84's and tremendous versatility. Costs an arm and a leg though.
Celest 70/80 is a terrible speaker
Got that right! I swapped out the 70/80 from my Clubster Doce with an Eminence Cannabis Rex.... Way huge improvement!
Not actually a fan of the sound. The clean channel is good, but no-go on the dirty stuff
lol
