Why does it give all the values in decimal places and not whole numbers?

It's because when you calculate the inverse normally by hand, you will get a fraction common for all the elements of the matrix. In the calculator it auto multiplies the fraction with the elements of Matrix which is why the final answer is in decimals.

Check the determinant of the matrix you want to be inverted. If that is zero you will get syntax error for 1/0
