I’ve been installing cove vinyl for 20 plus yrs and have never seen corners done like that I respect your installation and your welding but I’m blown away by the corners
Same here - I’ve been fitting coved vinyl (in various situations) for 22 years now… As much as I find the above style of fitting ‘interesting’, it’s FAR removed from the way that I fit/weld commercial vinyl, especially the internal mitres - it literally makes zero sense to cut that material out…only to immediately add it straight back in again and forcing yourself into having to spend a load more time on fitting something that needn’t exist in the first place. And then there’s the extra welding (again, for no reason at all)…???!! Externals’ are naturally required, we know that, so I totally understand why this is used on that part, but other than that you’re basically cutting bits out and adding them back in again presumably for the sake of wasting time and creating potential weak points in a wet area 😮😮
Butterfly's they're way stronger and more durable than boots. They'll last way longer. You'll eventually run into a job that requires them. They're pretty damn easy to do once you get a few under your belt.
My boss gets mad at me for putting the toe to high on my outside corner butterflies instead he gets me to place them so the bottom almost covers the cove so its easier to weld the round part but i find they cringle whwn u do that oh well he pays me gotta do what the boss man says XD

The internals aren’t an added piece. When he’s split the internal he’s just wrapped that triangle your left with around the corner
Butterfly corners. I’ve done jobs where they specified butterfly corners. Not a fan of
