i am learning bricks - used elementor for years and years. but i think bricks win with optimization and speed lifetime license and more it's like webflow system but on wordpress which means more possibilites than webflow
Good chat Imran! I think it’s all about what or which one will benefit the client’s needs the most! At the end of the day, it’s about which builder delivers the site in the most efficient way to benefit both the client and their user base!
Excellent way of breaking out the pros and cons of each. We don't have to always have a better or worse one; circumstances or type of usage/user would determine that in each particular case. It's like cars; you can't absolutely say a compact is better than a sports car, each one has its niche and pros/cons.
Imran, I enjoyed the video and agree with you to a point. Thanks to advice from Paul @WPTuts, I try and look at which tool(s) would be best for the client project; however, if I am the person that is constantly doing the backend updates, there comes a point where enough is enough. The pricing model alone (assuming you compare Elementor Pro vs Bricks) clearly favors one builder over the other. Additionally, I've been stung too many times moving from one upgrade to the next. I do agree with you that as a web developer, I should always consider the best product for the client. Part of that analysis should also include the history of each product a web developer considers. Thanks again for this video. -- P.S. Keep up the Bricks videos 🙂
Definitely good points mentioned in the video. However you missed a few points which I believe are crucial to any web developer that's why I'm leaving elementor for Bricks 1. Semantic code output - Elementor's code output is far from semantic and definitely not in a scalable way like Bricks provide. 2. Accessibility issues - due to lack of semantic tags and lack of aria support elementor is not Accessibility friendly. This mistake can be costly. 3. Class based styling - Elementor doesn't offer class based styling in a scalable way like Bricks does.
I might give bricks a try. I mean the price is a nobrainer and i like the UI of it alot. And i rather pay once for a builder and miss some features then paying 200$ each year to have the same issue with elementor.
@5:19 - this is what I was looking for: how is bricks compared to elementor when it comes to client handoff. That said, how is elementor vs breakdance when it comes to client handoff?
Hello ! What plugins do you recommend for optimization in Elementor? Additionally, ¿What are the “must have” plugins for a website with Elementor for defense and spam? And ¿What plugin do you use or recommend for SEO? (Sorry for my English. I’ am from Spain)
Coming from using Divi to Bricks, I would say that Divi is in the same camp as Elementor. In terms of performance and having to deal with all the fine tuning I am finding Bricks a breath of fresh air. That said, from the recent Divi 5 progress report, it looks like performance will be much improved. Is there a chance that Divi may get a class system and other on the ball features that we see in Bricks? Possibly. There have been some small UI hints in recent versions, indicating that this may be possible. Nick did mention a while ago a global class system and something to address the over nesting. May we wake up one day and see ACSS running on there? 😮 It’s a big project so I guess we will have to wait and see.
😂😂 a full 60 second advert for Breakdance before your video started, I thought it was the start of your video 😂 I was like 😑 ey? On a serious note, Elementor loop builder still not production ready.
If you're a good web designer, any of these page builders are good enough. BD is excellent, but when you say only 1.02 that's just a number, it's been in development for 3 years, and don't expect to get a good accessibility score any time soon. Bricks has a way to go yet, but the interface is much more 'standards' friendly.
How would you compare breakdance to elementor in terms of handoff to clients? I'm using elementor for a few sites, but thinking about moving over to BD, just that I'm worried about the client handoff.
I can see where you're coming from regarding the 1 theme vs several plugins but Divi is also just a theme feels bloated and it's not as good as either the latest Elementor or Bricks as far as I can tell (I'm going to be testing Bricks this evening coming from a Divi and then Elementor background).
Interesting comparison.. One point I would like to add is also the Pricing factor for Bricks and Elementor for long term licensing purpose. A quick question.. which are the optimization plugins you recommend?
For those of us starting out, but come from a frontend development background, what do you suggest? I don't mind having to add some CSS or javascript code at all. Also when a plugin says it has deep integration with something like elementor, what does that exactly mean? Because Woolentor and Cartflows will be part of my stack. What will me using bricks mean for them? I'm asking because I end up spending hours just to do little things (in terms of UI) in elementor and it's annoying. Thanks for the content, great channel!
What are your views on oxygen? I am using Elementor for years but they are not at all focusing on page builder, instead they are spending their resources on AI and image optimiser plugin. Lack of repeater field support is also a key feature that is missing. I will buy bricks for sure but shall I get the limited deal license of oxygen as well? I mean I am quite confused as the company has introduced a new page builders for ‘beginners’, Oxygen might die in near future despite turning on to subscription only model.
I don't use Oxygen but have you seen my video on how to show Repeaters in Elementor for free with a Code Snippet :) ua-cam.com/video/8SuQ_dv0iGM/v-deo.htmlfeature=shared
@@websquadron Thanks Imran. Yes I checked that month ago. I am a coder as well so code is not an issue but at times I need speed and easiness. Plus if I am paying a subscription of $400 per year, I expect my page builder to be compatible with modern standards.

Why Elementor does not consider to introduce a "pro mode" and the default mode, so they could cover all advanced features Bricks is famous for in the pro mode and not bother the common elementor non-pro users... it would be the perfect solution for everyone! Like workspace settings in PS for example
I just got done restoring againnnn an Elementor ‘critical error’ client hosted website being down. 🙄😡 Curious Imran if you don’t come across this (here constant) issue?
On the pricing anyone else find it difficult to trust a company that charges once for lifetime access? I'm happy to pay more and annually knowing that my builder has recurring income to keep the quality and support up.
Great video and coverage of the pros and cons of both builders. What's the deal with saying we can all work together??? What, no flaming each other?? No "this kills that" ??? Sarcasm aside, Yes, a bit more respect for others and their workflows would go a long way in web design. Peace and props. 👍
Since when do you let a client fiddle with the website design? I think customers work on content why we work with a CMS right? And additionally, some clients don't even want to bother with the website things, why we provide care packages for them. And that's what you want as a web developer. Why the argument that Elementor is easier doesn't count in my opinion.
We have a fair few that look after their own websites and don't take out packages etc. We've always found EL to be super-easy for them with low risk. Of course, they do come back when their sites get bust up by their changes.
@@websquadron I know it really depends on the client, but from experience I know customers break what they can break, at least 90% of them shouldn't play with the design of the website.
