I wish drawing tablet were a more available thing when I was younger. I’m turning 40 next month and I wish this was thing 20 years ago would have made my life a lot easier.
I’m still new to digital art, even after three years; I started drawing on an Artist 12, upgraded to a 16, and have been pretty happy with it. I mean, it’s not perfect, but I do enjoy it. I agree that it’s a great option for a beginner, both in terms of price and functionality.
I've only ever used the drawing tablets because all the large display devices are too expensive to justify the price. If I really want to draw on a smaller screen the iPad Pro works fine. The results are the same with the tablets. Wacom has cornered the market on charging exorbitantly for being just good enough to be better than the other options.
Thanks for mentioning the pen alignment issue! My current tablet, a huion, has that problem. I was considering XP-Pen, but why would I pay so much for the same problem to happen, and a lesser resolution than what I'm used to? I'm considering saving up for a Wacom now.
I've used an XP-Pen Artist 22E Pro for a couple of years. I've never owned any other drawing monitor, and this works great for me. Occasionally I need to recalibrate because that gap gets mysteriously bigger, but that is a twice-a-year event at most.

But since it is possible to make the transition from tablet to monitor, I don't see that The Gap from no Gap would be any harder. What I can't stand is lag, and the XP-Pen doesn't seem to have one.
I am an interior designer by trade & take great interest in people's work spaces. And I must say your work space look really fab. Maybe you should do a tour :)

I would love to see a direct comparison between the XP-Pen Artist Pro 16 (Gen 2) and the Cintiq 16. In terms of sensation when drawing, but mainly in terms of quality and durability. I know that the Cintiq 16 is inferior in terms of technical specifications, but I'm still considering buying it because I still don't know how long this XPPen will last, but I know that Wacom is reliable in this regard.

I looked at the best of the best but I definitely can not afford that as I'm a single dad with 2 teenage daughters. Could you please give me a recommendation on where to start??? I just purchased an Xp pen for myself and I had been using a 13inch cintiq for several years but its too small and putting a strain on my back. I need something bigger but cintiqs costs way too much in my opinion and for the technical aspect of it I think they are charging way too much. Huion and Xp-Pen can charge something for a cheaper price but the technical aspect my not be as precise as a cintiq but all it just says to me is that Wacom is charging way too much for its products if I could get something that is about 90 percent as closely to a cintiq for a much cheaper price. To top things off they charge you an extra whopping few hundred bucks to purchase a stand and to me its just not feasible.

It's great for sketching, but I've never had an easy time doing fill paintings with it. For me, I'll always need a bigger screen option. But that could be a personal thing!
Using both, I find a tablet easier to draw on however you can't use procreate on it so it would mean you'd have to learn a new program. I own the 12.9 inch ipad pro and find it rather small and restrictive compared to a tablet however, you can buy sketchboard pro which is a workstation for the ipad to mimic the space and feel of drawing on a tablet, I've yet to buy one but from reviews it seems positive. iPads have a lot better resolution compared to tablets too
on its website, its listed as FULLY LAMINATED SCREEN but yet you find the misalignment. BUT anyway the price now is an incredulous U$400+ Yes its only FHD, but yeah a great bargain.

I have the 2k version and really enjoying it, don't really notice the pixels. I had a Yiynova MSP19U+ for a decade and finally upgraded. Tried the Kamvas 22+ first and didn't have a great experience. I found the color impossible to calibrate with my Spyder 3 and DisplayCal, and the pixalization was very noticable. Also the pen pressure on the Kamvas seemed less toonable. Huions customer service is the actual worst which is why I returned that for the XPPen Artist 24 Qhd, so much happier. My biggest issue is my Ergotron monitor are struggles under the weight but, the quality feel is amazing. I personally have seen no difference between this and the Lamenated screen of these Kamvas 22+ with the parallax but, I am coming from a decade of extreme parallax on the Yiynova. Never been blessed with working on a Wacom cintiq but I am glad to see I may not be missing out on a lot.
