I love my Gnome Priest. I never leveled a Gnome or Priest before but it just felt right to me.
me too
I kinda like the idea that a gnome learning about the curse of flesh, might actually become a shadow priest. It was the power of the void and the old gods that allowed them to be what they are... so why not dabble further in a little chaos.
I want more of your WoW videos, you do this format so well.
As for theory, I think it's plausible that they were interested in the Light from the Dwarven comrades as well as the Argent Dawn. Could have a very simplistic reason behind it. The door had been opened to them, and some took up the offer to learn the Light (and Dark).
Thank you and there is actually a very cool story behind shadow priests I may make a video about in the future :)
I'm still bitter that they justified gnome priests but paladins were out of the question. The light is the light!
Honestly, any class that can be both a priest and a warrior can also become a paladin.
I could not agree more!
seibenlore I'm glad someone else subscribes to the warrior + preist = paladins. Gnome paladins = best tank ever.
Although gnomes are one of my favourite races I honestly don't think gnomes should be able to be warriors. Or monks for that matter.
Lore wise they're not paladins they're "sun druids". Before they only embraced one aspect (or eye) of the earth mother, Mu'sha represented by the moon (Elune to the night elves). During the cataclysm came a cultural change where they started to embrace An'she as well, represented by the sun. Hence the name Sun Walkers. There's actual canonical theories that Elune (Mu'sha) may be a Naruu, shown by an interaction between Velen and Tyrande. If that's the case then there's it's probably a given that An'she is a Naruu as well.
Well you earned another subscriber thats for sure ;D
I'd go with the first theory about the gnome medics
Glad I earned your subscription!
Hey, man. Great stuff. Could you do one about gnome warlock? Keep up the good work.
Well, considering the fact that gnomes learn't the light through dwarves (as well as the Argent Dawn) and their medics personally (during the irradiated invasion), why can't they possibly wield the light to a greater advantage, including the ability to tank, heal, and close-range weapons to become paladins? Well, this would involve dwarves as a large part of course.
There were always gnomish priests. Back in vanilla, you could find many gnomish priests at Netherguard Keep in the Blasted Lands.
Good video, man. I started leveling a Gnome Priest recently and have been wondering about Roleplay possibilities.
please make more videos they are amazing! ^^
Thank you! I am currently working on more.
If the light does not discriminate the wielder, shouldn't in theory every class be able to use it?
Well.. today all races can be priests, besides Orcs. Traditionally the light was seen to only apply to the races of Azeroth, and since Orcs came from another world they didn't apply. Yet even this isn't true because Draenei are also from another world but still are capable priests. Currently I believe that since different races seem to gain priestly abilities through different mediums (Taurens the sun, Night Elves the moon, ect), the Orcs have simply not found their "light" source yet, or perhaps they are just big meanie faces..
seibenlore
And perhaps from a game designer perspective, it would simply be not very interesting if every single race could be a priest. Anyways, thanks for the interesting video!
+seibenlore the reaosn draenei can wield the light is due to their version of the light is different; the naaru
I was in one of the first all gnome guilds... we got priests because we petitioned like mad to have any healing class so we could run dungeon bosses with out having to hire non gnomes for healing.
I remember why they added gnome priests to the game. I was in an exclusively all gnome guild trying to do content together. Our complaints to blizzard were that we could not run anything withiut a nonguild member because no healer could join the guild. Shortly after our complaint they added the priests.
We did try to get blizzard to come up with a healing class just for gnomes but they refused.
really nice video, more plux
I want gnome druids.... i know it makes no sense but i want to play my fav class on my fav race
Say this without laughing...gnome druid in bunny travel form. And gnome shamans would be awesome, just for the totems.
+Mark Juliano Massive lore break. But I understand what you mean. :P
It makes more sense that gnomes in the argent crusade eventually learned to use the light than that light weapons and medic bullshit since the light doesn't discriminate.
your wow lore vids are the best.
"I do not see gnome priests going into battle with a huge gun that shoots light rays that heal allies healing them."
You obviously didn't look very hard, because they literally do exactly that in the Dominance Offensive scenario.
Awesome thumbnail.
The whole thing about gnomes being able to use shadow, YOU HAVE TO UNDERSTAND ITS A GAME PLAY CONSISTANCY.
I like how little lore there is for gnomes. Feels like a little nod to D&D, with them being Fey creatures that just don't give a shit.
i like the second one more
Well, even a Pandaren can be Priest, and they do not praise the light like the others races.. So all this was just a Blizzard choice.
Just stumbled on this video and I have to say: Nice to see you try to do this videos but just a hint for the future: please stop mixing engine elements into lore. The whole "shadow wielding" is purely part of the engine. Blizzard never made changes to spells and accessability when it came to implementing new classes. Best example here are the different playable paladinraces.
And some more research would be good. You didn't mention some blueposts that dwelved in to the discussion about gnomepriests and talked about how both theories are true to some degreee. ;)
I'm on that weird part of youtube again...
Thanks Zackiiiiipot
Goblins are the surperior intellectual species of Azeroth!!
Pfft clearly you have never witnessed the pure genius of superior gnomish technology.
baaaaaad
