Can you elaborate the issue. Like what securities (equity ir debt) does govt hold in RBI? How much was their holding percentage? Etc

Govt should use a part of it to pre pay some of its debt. This will reduce govt's interest burden for years to come. Govt has already asked RBI to buyback govt bonds worth Rs 40,000 crore.
