    awesome in depth review! i love this stand have been using it for a couple seasons now, and have been very happy with it, it is definitely on the heavier side once you are all geared up, but for most real men its more than doable. keep the great videos coming!

    Thanks for the video. A few suggestions/clarifications: 1. the foot stirrups look to be in the wrong position. It looks a little awkward when you're trying to climb up. 2. You mention in the beginning that the green strap is attached to the seat (correct) platform but you later say/show it to the foot platform. The text at the beginning also says "secure bottom" platform. Very helpful video!

    • @mountainbuck
      @mountainbuck  2 роки тому

      Hey jonsie, you are absolutely correct on the utility strap going around the seat section to secure it to the tree. My bad on that one! Unfortunately, UA-cam doesn’t allow you to edit your videos in a meaningful way after they are published (which is why I try to correct any errors with posts). Thanks to the heads up and thanks for checking out my channel! 👍🏻

    It’s comfortable for sure! But heavy as hell. And setting it up is very loud. The deer will hear you from a mile away. Nothing a little preparation and planning won’t fix. Figure out the most fast and efficient way to carry/use this climber and you would be fine

    I want the original Steel climber. It was lighter than that. I have one now im going to recondition after 20 years of use its worn out. New seat and cables and its good. lookslike these parts will work and i wont have that extra 9 lbs. It was originally the top ofthe line back in the 90s and I gues its still better than a new one with less weight. Its definitely durable except for the seat and cable wear. They all wear out eventually. But they are by far the quietest stand I own. Chains (avoid at all cost and cables with pins avoid at all cost or you will be sitting on the ground when you loose one.

    great vid....but the green strap goes around the tree and the UPPER part..............
    3. Wrap the supplied green tourniquet buckle strap (1” green strap with spring loaded buckle) around the tree and through the
    seat frame as shown in figure 22. Securely tighten the strap to prevent the notched teeth area from losing contact with the tree.

    I got one not long ago and have many things to say about it after going on my first hunt. I feel like the teeth that actually hold you in the tree are not gonna hold in place and almost feel like I was sliding down. Also how could I hunt with a compound bow out of it? I know k could stand up but I just know a deer would probably see/hear me. I have one more hunt tomorrow so any help would be appreciated.

    • @mountainbuck
      @mountainbuck  5 місяців тому

      Hey thanks for watching. Please be sure to secure the seat section to the tree with that 1” utility strap to ensure you are secured to the tree. Guys hunt out of these types of climbers with compound bows quite a bit. It’s all about the timing and having a feel for when to slowly and quietly make your move. Best of luck! 🦌👍🏻
