- Violence broke out at a St George's Day event in central London on Tuesday afternoon, the Metropolitan Police reported.
Mounted officers intervened when a group breached a police cordon at Richmond Terrace in Whitehall, designated for the event.
The force posted on X, earlier in the day stating their anticipation of the attendance of "far-right groups and groups linked to football clubs" at the event.
Videos shared on social media showed large clashes and individuals being detained by officers at the event.
A Section 60 order was issued, granting police authority to increase stop and searches.
Six people were arrested at the St George’s Day event held in Whitehall.

Brave Met Police, attacking elderly people and vets, on a day of celebration. How much lower can they sink. Absolutely disgusting behavior by these uniformed thugs. I am 76 and was meant to be there, but was unable to go. My grandaughters had said all along, I should not go, as the police would kick off, which is exactly what happened.

I saw the police decide to block the path of a group and then the group pushed forward, I knew if they didn't getting any bother the police would create it some how. It is plain to see tho for the rest of the country, I won't work in the long run.

Well the Met couldn't have been more wrong could they? What they actually got was a mixed crowd of peaceful English patriots with a good mix of different nationalities & ethnicities who love the traditional English/British way of life, people in costume and kids with painted faces. The only group that wasn't on their list of potential troublemakers who did turn up were their brothers in arms, the TSG (those with the distinctive 'U' on their shoulder numbers), who never fail to disappoint in kicking off a bit of trouble when the English/Brits are out and about in London. We've seen it all before.

That's not what this report is about. There's a video about the escaped horses on this channel, too. What would you suggest they also include in that story in the interests of balance? Other escaped animals, maybe? Horses who haven't escaped and 'actually quite like it here'?
