To be fair, its a fighting game. Theres music and lots of sound effects mixed with characters speech. I think for most of us that dont speak french, to get any clarity from the words it kinda has to be overpronounced like that. when i hear my fellow countrywoman Lidia Sobieska, she just sounds like normal person talking very clearly, speaking cheesy lines.

I think Japanese devs don't realize that the "anime" style of speech doesn't really work in western languages, it comes across as super weird and unnatural. Well technically it is unnatural in japanese too, but they're simply used to having these very dramatic speech patterns in anime/games. As an italian Claudio has the same issue, he speaks in a way that simply does not exist and it's strange because italian media doesn't have this type of speech at all. The "Arrivederci" or "rilascio" sound especially strange

You're absolutely right, I just can't get used to it 😅 In other languages I simply can't notice it, in japanese many voice actors are praised for making any line work and manage to sound convincing to me. I only have that issue in French lol

You should watch the video where Vincent Cassel talks about dubbing Victor in T8. His French is less exaggerated in that video, since he's obviously using his real voice and not exaggerating for Victor. You can see the difference between his performance and how he actually speaks.

That was a dumb take man, if you look Victor indeeds counter hit raven with a fast move, it's timed to CH him, and then he follow ups with the rage art, they standardized rage arts I doubt they'll make i12 ones again

"All RA are launch punishable" works for all except Hwoarang in T7 because his is both a mid and safe on block, so I wouldn't be surprised if they break the standard sooner or later, but I guess it makes sense it won't be from the get go.

while they weren't standard on how you launch them, you can. Most are block punish launch, some you need to duck then launch punish after whiff, Chloe is low block launch, Akuma can get launched with a delayed hopkick if timed right, but none of that applies to Hwoarang, it's the only RA you can't launch punish.

Realism is not necessary, I'm fine with lasers and dinosaurs in a fighting game. I just want the universe to feel believable. The issue is, when a character talks like a theater actor instead of a secret agent, it breaks the willing suspension of disbelief by reminding you of theatrical performances.
I feel like diversity based characters in tekken are meant to look exotic to people who don't share the culture, as a middle eastern person, there is almost nothing middle eastern about shaheen😅
That's a valid point, for the developers appealing to most people is probably more important than convincing the few people who will care about the accuracy xD
Same goes for Leo and Claudio, nobody speaks German and Italian in that comically exagerrated way of pronunciation At least Dragunov doesnt have actual spoken lines, his Russian would have probably been equally as unnatural

Most are block punish launch, some you need to duck then launch punish after whiff, Chloe is low block launch, Akuma can get launched with a delayed hopkick if timed right, but none of that applies to Hwoarang, it's the only RA you can't launch punish.

Realism is not necessary, I'm fine with lasers and dinosaurs in a fighting game. I just want the universe to feel believable. The issue is, when a character talks like a theater actor instead of a secret agent, it breaks the willing suspension of disbelief by reminding you of theatrical performances.
I feel like diversity based characters in tekken are meant to look exotic to people who don't share the culture, as a middle eastern person, there is almost nothing middle eastern about shaheen😅
That's a valid point, for the developers appealing to most people is probably more important than convincing the few people who will care about the accuracy xD
