I was 100% positive that changing colors in crochet was black magic I was not privy to. This was so much easier than I thought it was going to be... That's what I get for overthinking. This is awesome. I love this lewk.
There were a lot of videos, but none of them were exactly showing the basics, also, loved your sarcasm and humor throughout the video, thanks a lot for posting this video. Such a good tutorial!!
I just finished making this yesterday (took me about 2 months) and it came out great! for those wondering - I did the same thing for the collar as for the cuffs/bottom - slipsstitch5, sc 10. Next time i would reduce the number of slipstitches for both the neck and the bottom as it made it a bit tight (probably would slipstitch 3).
heyy, loved your video!! my mom liked it aswell and said she is going to buy me some yarn to make it :)) i was wondering if there is any way to make pockets?
For pockets I would not join 1 square on both sides. So join the bottom one and then the 3rd one. Then you can crochet a pocket however big you like as long as the hole you put things in is as big as the gal you did not join. So you can for example crochet 2 extra squares, join them on 3 sides and leave 1 side open so you can enter your pocket. Then join your loose pocket on the place you left the sweater open. This will create like a hidden pocket. For a pocket on the outside just crochet a square and stitch it on on 3 sides leaving one open again. I hope you can understand what I mean, which is a bit hard without drawing it out. Just let me know if you have an extra question!
something you can do is google 'stitch fiddle size calculator,', go to the first result, youll need to make a guage swatch (just a square) and fill in size and stitches/rows, then measure somthing that fits how you want this to fit (width and length) and fill these measurements into the finished product size, the calculator will fill out the number of stitches, then you just need to figure out how to split that up into equal squares :)
I have made ribbing before where i slip stitched though 2 and it didn’t cinch in enough for me. So i figure the more slip stitches in between each rib, the more tighter it will fit! I hope that helps 😊
great video ! i'm new to the world of crochet and i was wondering something. Essentially you're making squares right? Would it have been any different if you made "granny squares" separately instead of like in this video where the pink and orange squares are already locked together?
I actually do have a video where i make a checkerboard cardigan out of granny squares! Personally i like how i make this pink and orange one better, since i don’t have to attach a bunch of squares together lol
I don't know if this is a stupid question but i was wondering if it's possible to do this but instead of crocheting the squares i would knit them. I just wanted to ask if that's possible because i've never made a sweater before...
I think its mostly measure up one of your favorite sweaters to see how wide you want it to be and then divide it by 6 to know the size of your squares. (The sweater is 6 squares wide) maybe it will become a bit long given that it are squares so maybe only make it 4 rows long instead of 5! Let me know if this works or you have more questions!
Hi, the size is totally depending on how big you make each square. Easy thing to decide is to measure the width of your favorite sweater and divide it by 6 to know how wide each square should be
i'm not getting the measurements 😭what are the measurements supposed to be of everything in cm? i'm very new to crochet, so I'm probably misunderstanding it all, but why are the measurements of the 6 squares across 64cm (which means every square would be 10.7cm) but then 46cm of 5 squares upwards would be 9.2cm per square? and then when you give the measurements for each individual square it's 10.2 cm? and i don't even know how to understand the "final measurements includding ribbing". pls help 💀
Hello!! I started making this but when i switch colors, the color i'm not using and "hiding" still shows on the back side. So when i started my second row, it appears a lot :( did this happen with anyone else? anyone got any advice? (small edit: with the second row it shows a bit on each side but mostly on the backside of second row, which is the rightside of first row)
pulling the yarn youre 'hiding' tight before switching colours can help hide it, but its always gonna be somewhat visible on every other row (it shows up more on one side of the row youre working on so it switches sides with each row) :)

Love how easy you explaining

I'm so glad I've found your channel. They're so relaxing and relatable. The only videos that I can fully sit through and watch all the way.
I absolutely recommend this tutorial !
I still don't understand why you're videos still not famous though
Thank you. You make everything you make so easy to follow. 🥰🥰
Awesome ⭐️⭐️ I already have the pink yarn I definitely gotta try this
This pink yarn is so cute! I really want to make some matching accessories to go with my sweater now lol
Been waiting to watch this! Definitely going to try making my own jumper in future!!
Did you do the neck ribbing the same as the sleeves and bottom?
how do you do the ribbing on the neck tho ?? I love this tutorial and the diagrams and everything but I feel like that part was completely skipped ?
I WAS LOOKING EXACTLY FOR THAT
i wanna learn how to crochet so i can make one like this, but green and black
That's a cool combo I will keep that on mind!! My first one will be black and red:))
Thank you Michelle for your time and padden . Jonya Travis,1-6-2024
I love you saying they dont give you the meters and then the next shot have the yards/meters in the skein on screen, just funny to me
Hope this isn't me missing a spot but is the ribbing for the neck the same as the cuffs and bottom? Or is it a sightly shorter rib?
Wondering the same thing!!
Hi! I will surely try this one out! If I make a cropped version of this, will 200g of each colour be enough?
Can I use 5ply cotton milk yarn?
heyy, loved your video!! my mom liked it aswell and said she is going to buy me some yarn to make it :))

Hi I'm wanting to make this. What size is this? I normally wear xl for an oversized look
Same!

@@beaukindasucks8157 I'll try that thank you
What weight yarn did you use?
Very cute! Does the neckline feel constricting because it's not shaped?
the neck was a little snug when i first wore it, but after a while it stretched out a bit!
@@michelle_jasek What size do you normally wear in general sweaters and such?
How did you decide how many chins to slip stitch through for your ribbing?! Seen others who only do 2! I do love your jumpers and how they look 😊😊
I have made ribbing before where i slip stitched though 2 and it didn’t cinch in enough for me. So i figure the more slip stitches in between each rib, the more tighter it will fit! I hope that helps 😊
@@michelle_jasek thank you 😊 guess it’s a trial and error to get it the way you want it to be then. Probably best to start the cinching tighter.
In my latest sweater I had to take apart the ribbing a bunch of times to get it right lol

I think it’s possible. But i’ve also never knitted anything before!
Okay thank you!

What is the sizing on the measurements you provided? I am usually a medium/large and i have been following your measurements
Just measure yourself, it's a but tedious but it's pretty easy
My squared for the sleeves didn’t come out long enough, what do I do??
Adding another 15 stitches to the sleeves might help
hiding the thread is not like wasting it?
