An old mechanic trick is to pump the lever a few times and tie it while it's pulled in to the grip and leave it over night in the morning come out and use a spanner to release the top of the hose and tighten up immediately and then the brake should be brick hard
I've done this so many times and always works for me!! I don't normally bother with the spanner though just zip tie the lever over night.
Chef Daniel LaCroix that break lever must be taking air in.
So far you have built a sportbike, supermoto, and a ruckus/grom type thing. It's time for a bobber build (kinda like diwd). Yea or Naaaaay?
Speedy Spartan that or a car next would be awesome.
ive been thinking about that for a little bit
The new design looks 10x better!
+Kuruma Designs Thanks man!
The paintjob looks awesome!
To fix the brake. Try and take the master cylinder off the handle bar and tip it up vertical, then pump it very slowly to get all the air out.
that looks real slick!
motonosity, try putting a elestic band or something around the brake lever to keep it on ( as if you were squeezing brake) and leave it over night or for a couple days, any air should then be allowed to come back out the top of the master cylinder. a trick ive used lots and it seems to work.
subscribed! after watching a couple of the ruckus build videos with my wife she really likes your comment on your family and baby comes first! good videos and awesome content
That motonosity logo with the negative space around it on the battery box is really pretty 😍
One thing I've done in the past is pump the lever a few times to get as much pressure at the lever as I can then hold it and zip tie the lever to the grip and let it sit over night. This sometimes pushes any air that doesnt come out with typical brake bleeding to the end of the line. Crack open the bleeder valve without releasing the pressure then do a couple more bleeds and hopefully you have better pressure at the lever. If you dont have pressure when you come back to it then theres a small leak or issues with your master cylinder. Hope this helps!
looks good!
my sister's motorscooter had an air bubble in the handle which she had the same issue with little feel response for the brakes! which we had fixed (I mean the shop that she bought it from fixed it) so you may need to check that! the mk2 paint job looks great, & again can't wait to see what the mk3 brings!
I really like the new paint. It looks great! Glad you're feeling better. If you haven't tried a vacuum bleed kit already, I would try that. There has to be some air in the lines somewhere if you aren't getting a solid lever. Good luck with it!
Well done!
I would try bleeding the brakes straight from the bonjo bolt to make sure u have no air gaps then connect to back on and finish bleeding the brakes. It should solve ur flat spot in the brake
looks sweet dude!
That seat looks so good
You have to change your brake tablets in order to get that pressure in the brake! i had the same problem in my wr i changed and know is working like a charm.
looks way better man!!!
Next build: Full scale realistic 2 stroke go kart from Mario Kart 8
the new paint job moto looks sick with your logo on it
I love your logo there on the cover it looks cool
You should do a light bar on the front instead of those other lights you have on there
clean ride
Others have already said it but I'll echo it as well. It looks like you either have to bleed the master cylinder itself or if the brakes continue to deteriorate over time I'd vote for a bad seal inside the master cylinder. I've seen that a few times for brake and clutch masters.
New battery box looks great btw!
Music in your video is 'Close the Door' by Teddy Pendergrass of Harold Melvin and the Bluenotes.
One of my favorite 70s tunes.
THANKS!
11/10 looks perfect
I like the way you have it
Try using one of those brake leaders that you hook up to an air compressor. There has to be air somewhere in the system that you just can't bleed out easily.
love the new paint shop!
lol...job!
Tammy McClimans you can edit comments
When you bleed your brakes make sure the bleeder screw is at the highest point on the caliper. You can also tap the caliper lightly with the bleeder screw open it can help knock loose an air bubble that might be trapped.
I like the new design a lot more
Looks mint
I don't really like the Ruckus in general but I still enjoyed this build series. Would be really interested in a Cafe Racer build series but I guess it would be even more time consuming and expensive xD
Love your vids
you can purchase some cheap waterproof quick disconnect connectors on ebay, I use them for stuff I wire in esp switches, then you dont have to cut the wires when you have to take panels off or reconnect switches etc, makes life alot easier! on your master does it have a bleeder? on the z125 when i put the brembo master on had to bleed it from the top also, thing is solid now.
That new battery cover paint job is HOT!
After this, you should start a Rock Crawler/Mud Trail Runner build. This Ruckus is absolutely rad and unique and it'd be cool to see what you'd do to say an old Toyota Pickup or something. Don't even have to license it 😜
next build series has to be a 2stroke, Portugal props you man!
Caught up on all the vids. Dope shit man! Love the build. My ruck is nothing compare to this one. Hopefully we can catch each other when I'm visiting Austin and ride.
Had issues bleeding the beringer 6 piston kit on my supermoto, same issues, what helped fix my issue was bleeding from the banjo bolts first then use a little teflon tape on the bleeder threads and bleed from them after the banjos, when using teflon tape on the bleeders try and keep it all on the threads only, bleeders seem to be a little lose and the teflon helps seal the threads so air cannot past when you are open and closing them, also don't pump the lever, pull it in and hold while loosening the bleeder, once closed then release the lever. All this worked like a charm on my gsxr race bike and my race only supermoto
You should do a gilera runner it's a 2stroke crazy fast.
On the Blake line, can you adjust the caliper position? Like how far out the piston is regularly. Also, get a braided break line. It doesn't stretch at all like the stock one might
Did you ever get that new cam and heavier weights? Looking forward to more ruckus updates. I'm doing a 171cc swap this week on mine.
Try to lift the caliper above the master cylinder, that worked when we had problems, alot of air was in the brake lines that just would not bleed downwards.
Moto, you can take an air compressor and completely blow out the break lines. After they are empty and completely clear, use a bleeder pump to get rid of the air and build up the pressure. Once the gauge reads about 15 psi it should take away the squishiness.
new battery box looks great ! i still want to buy your engine and wheels from your ruck, they still avail. ?
refill the break fluid, check the pistons and seals, as you may need to replace the seals on the break pistons
sweet frikking ruckus you build there
I had the same problem with the brakes, they were brand New so the cylinder was dry, so after I drove it a while the vibration got the fluid into the cylinder and now it works...
With my experience with brake calibers if that's that it has, I think the piston in your caliber might be seasning up I might be wrong but I had that same problem with my bike and I got some grease and it started working just fine
Try using the harley banjo washers for your brake lines. You might have a small leak somewhere.
that ruckues is cool man shout out from McAllen tx
+R3VIT Thanks man!
I am probably wrong but on the brake lever there is a little adjustment screw sometimes and you can adjust that and make it tighter.
Not sure if you have tried this already but....Try zip tying the lever to the bar so its pulled in as far as it can go and leave for a day or two. This will allow any air to travel to the highest point within the braking system and make them feel a lot sharper :D Should try the same with your other bikes and they should get more bite and feel!
I'd put your stock break box&line&pads if the pads will fit on the new rotor or mix & match till you find the problem
Yo, what camera setup are you using? And, can you make a video on how yo have your GoPro mounted on the helmet?:)
that front brake problem happened to me on my cbr600rr when i forgot to take my rotor lock on and it bent my brake rotor. i doubt thats the problem but if the bike had been knocked over or something it might be the problem.
when is the new build series starting?
+qartex As soon as I have the bike. Sometime in the next few weeks!
Motonosity with your brakes you sound asif there is still air trapped in the system, try either back bleeding the system ( forcing fluid up through bleed nipple to reservoir) or you could try pumping the handle a few times, holding the brake pressure on and crack off the brake line union at banjo bolt on lever for a second and re tighten, sometimes air can get trapped there, you may see bubbles come once cracked off, hope this helps
jimmyboy283james That's what I do every time now. I use a fluid transfer pump to fill the empty system through the bleeder nipple. Once I figured that out, I never went back to the conventional method.
jimmyboy283james or tap against the brake line
3:08 yay you got a UK plate :)
Air in the master cylinder, if it doesn't have a bleed nipple on the reservoir then crack the line off from it just a hair as if you were doing a normal bleed job and it should fix your issue
I'm still waiting on you to drag race Dan and his Harley.
Hey Motonosity have you tried to swap the brake master cylinder out? It could be defective, even though it worked it could have a bad seal in the bore of the piston or somwhere else and it could be letting air into the system. If it was me I would try swapping it out, since you've done a million and a half of other things.
Does one of your connections or cables leak?
The way I do it at work, is, put a hose on the bleed nipple and put into a bottle, crack the nipple and pull the lever. Lock the nipple while you're holding the lever in, release the lever and repeat about 5-10 times in order to get all the air out, obviously making sure there's plenty of fluid in the reservoir. (I do 20 pumps). If that doesn't fix the issue, then I'd suggest you have a master cylinder issue, or the push rod is incorrectly adjusted.
I had the same issue with a brake pump.. the pump was broken.. so check the pump✌🏻
Where is the best place to buy a ruckus
Try pulling the leaver in and tying a rag around to hold it in and leave it over night.
I want your darn camera! So clean! I'll take the garage and bikes to if ya don't mind ;)
do u have beaded brake cables
Probably the master cylinder seal has a nick in it.
The brake line banjo being above the bolt is really bad for bleeding too.
Air needs to be able to travel up only to bleed it correctly.
if you didn't get your ruckus running yet turn key on and see if you can jump the start sileniod with a screwdriver if it start the sileniod might have died on you then hook power to the wires in the clip part if it clicks it's good if you hear nothing the sileniod is shot I just went through this with mine
Why you not riding on your Yamaha? Good video. Well-painted!
Best motovloger in the world
Just a thought, you could have a faulty check valve in the brake line. If it still craps out it's a check valve issue.
put your logos on the sides of the battery box, and one logo on that floor piece. make the side logos level by drawing a line with a level, on a level floor, while still mounted on the scooter
As someone else mentioned, try pumping the brakes up and zip tie the lever in and leave it over night. Also how old was the fluid you used?
Hey Brent, I recently heard something about it being possible that there is air in the brake caliper/connection itself instead of the brake lines. It might be worth digging into, hopefully it will help you out.
hey just a thought on the brakes... didnt you put a larger calliper on there brent? i was thinking about your brakes as i just rebuilt the master cylinder not to long ago on my 1980 cm400, and it almost sounds like your piston seals might be bad or if you put a larger calliper on the piston may not be big enough. if you have a large calliper and a small piston, the piston may not be pushing enough fluid to actuate the brakes resulting in the pumping you were experiencing. anyway... just a thought
same thing happen to me. The piston in the caliber arent coming out all the way.. I had to use a pressure to get them out and clean them. Re greased them and works perfectly now
are they adelin
Is their a lot of slack in the brake line?
the front brake rotor is probably not on straight, or you have a bent rotor, making the caliper pistons push back. tjats whats causing the musshy brake feel. i had experience with a ncy rotor bending because a braked too hard.(on a zume125)
Are your bars bent on the ruckus
Don't know what type of brake fluid you're using, but Torque RT700 is absolutely the fluid to use if you want more brake feel. It also degrades much much slower than all other brake fluids. Give it a shot.
Could try rebuilding the master cylinder.
needs a front and rear mud guard with the same color scheme. would finish off the overall look
Have you been riding the bmx bike?
Its not a Honda if it doesn't have zip ties
Mario Torres lol
motonosity you should do that paint style on the super moto.
brake fluid use motul youll get crazy good pressure ive been using it for years and had no problems
I saw you earlier today Moto by 2222 I was riding with the group of like 20 sport bike riders. Texas sport bike riders-Austin
Holy shit.. all of a sudden theres a Porsche in your driveway??
There was one in another video a few weeks ago :P (Most likely the same one)
Noah Hesshaimer and in the street in front of his house
moto. when your at home put the bike on the side stand with side bars turned left. strap the front brake lever up and leave it overnight. this will cause any air within the system to be compressed to the point thr bubble will be so fine the can pass through the fluid to the top of the brake master cylinder. hope that helps
Take the calliper of the mount and flip the calliper upsidown and bleed the brakes with the calliper up side down. If that don't work then just simply take the brake cover of and cable tie the brake leaver shut to the throttle grip and leave it over night
Take the caliper off(not the line) and pump the Pistons out a bit. Then take a clamp and push them back in with the cover off and it will expel any air out of the master cylinder
They make a pin extractor to take those pins out so you don't have to cut wires.
It would be sick if he would've made a grom like this
You using a GoPro? The colours look really good for a GoPro maybe the light is just perfect ?
Ruckus looks good -- do a thin pinstripe along all those edges to really finish off that gorgeous paint! 👊🐢☠️
titen the ajustment on the brake line
