in most circumstances, you don't need to give hong bao if you are not married.....anyway,I believe CNY celebration last a month in China....LOL.
In other regions/country, the celebration is less...nevertheless, most of the culture and meaning are closely related/tied regardless of geographical location. Southern part ; Guangzhou, there would be lion dances....
Thanks for the info! Yeah my thumbnail might seem misleading in that way it’s just a bit of clickbait. Everyone celebrates a bit different and events all over China and the world take place to celebrate! I wish I got to see a big city celebration with a dragon dance - but didn’t get the chance.

Every year I give 1688 Yuan *2 red envelop to my sister's kids, 10 K red envelop to my mom, in return my kid gets 5000 Yuan envelop from my sister. while meeting old class mates, if they brought their kids for reunion meal, normally I give 100 Yuan envelop as a New year luck. I also prepare some red envelops , to put 18 yuan inside, to give kids if meeting someone not familar but living in the same community and with kids.
