Stopped benching about 3 years ago and really got into bodyweight and kettlebell training!
would be interesting to see how far your bench strength has fallen... not much I imagine.
I literally tell my high school aged son this all the time. I went 15 years without bench. I did bench this year and can easily press 295 lbs for reps with no injury.
I like to look at Olympic Weightlifters and Gymnasts as fine examples of the Strength & Mobility Wrestlers can have. They have the strongest upper strength & control via Overhead Pressing and Dip work.
Both great examples of strength! The range of strength gymnasts have is unrivalled by any other sport, imop.
Ashley Jones dvds were 👌
🤙🏼
BJJ Black belt here, got it from John Machado and a CSCC (Certified Strength and Conditioning Coach) under the NSCA.
You guys simply do not know how to Bench Press nor how to program it.
Stop spreading this bullshit about strength and conditioning
I’ve always benched and never had any injuries from it. But maybe it’s not optimal, any opinions on close grip bench? Seems like pushing with arms closer would carry over better on the ground
I can bench an elephant
But my things hurt
