It's loosely based on the story of Mae Miller who was enslaved with her family in Mississippi until 1963. Apparently many other black people in the South were treated like that.

We saw it this last weekend, it is terrible. I love Chris Pine and Ben Foster but they are both terrible in this film. The action is not believable and neither is the setup and final act. Too bad, I was expecting better. Kiefer Sutherland is also in this and I love him too but they all three phoned it in for a paycheck.

I'm so glad I'm not the only one. They're all crap.
This looks like a compilation of low budget, dreary, utterly forgettable movies maid by amateurs. LIke you, I wouldn't pay a penny to walk into a theater to see any of them, and I certainly don't think they are worth wasting time to watch on Hulu or Netflix or whatever. In the old days, these are what we used to call "straight to video" movies that were meant to be released on VHS or DVD and then thrown into the clearance bin at Walmarts, never to be seen again.

Proving that we all need to look somewhere else for entertainment as 2022 movies are all looking awful.
Well, no. THESE movies look awful. Look at the trailers for movies coming out in THEATERS and many of them look good. The ones listed here look unwatchable. I wonder if people who make movies also watch movies. I can imagine some director watching a trailer for his own movie and crying out.."WTF? My movie sucks!!!"
