    Rode one of these across Vietnam. Reliable bike. It’s more fun using 100% of a small displacement bike than 30% of a bigger bike

      For sure , I have a Monkey 125 its always a trek. Must admit running around on my F800ST does just make things so easy . Rode to Fort William and climbed up Ben Nevis and I was so glad to have that big boat take me home. I have a work colleague who travelled to Guatemala and has bought a XR150L or maybe its a clone bc all hes had is issues.
      Think it does literally come down to what kind of riding youre doing and where you live... Basically buy all the bikes hahahah

    Had a cheap white XL125 in the 80's That I hammered everywhere (I was young) with very little maintenance. It did over 100mpg & 70+mph. I should have kept it but was a 2T fan & sold it. Great dual purpose bike.

I'd also like to take a second to thank you for all of the DIY repair and maintenance videos you and others at RMATV have put out over the years. I added new foot pegs, LED headlight, a Ricochet aluminum skid plate, battery hook up for a trickle charger, mirror mount extenders, Tusk handguards and Wolfman tank and saddlebags (the highest quality but expensive). The stock tires are fine for my riding and the only other mods I may make are to open up the flow at both ends a bit with intake and exhaust mods.

    extra output? Sorry I don't know the names of stuff here, can anyone tell me if you can just add an electrical part

Wide open at 205 lb rider so max range would be about 200 miles in worst case scenario. cruising back roads I would guess you could get 175 before reserve. • @rmatvmc
      @rmatvmc  6 місяців тому +1

      You can do whatever you want with these 150L's, this is just the way we kitted ours out. That's what's cool about cheap bikes, plenty of budget left for accessories

    • @1122redbird
      @1122redbird 6 місяців тому

      @@rmatvmc The intended market for these bikes is people who just want a low cost motorcycle that is easy to ride, simple to fix, can do just a little bit of everything. It's not for people who want a "kitted out" bike. That's just my opinion. Yea I get it you are showing a lot of accessories and upgrades you can do, but honestly man it comes off as a commercial and I would doubt anyone would ever do all that just for simple rides around town and a dirt road here and there or farm use. If someone is going on real adventure rides or true dual sport riding, they'd probably get a different bike. Love the XR150L though.

    • @rmatvmc
      @rmatvmc  6 місяців тому

      I got you, and yeah everyone is different. Someone might want to get into ADV but their budget only allows for something like the 150L and maybe they don't plan on riding thousands of miles; we just like to show what's possible in case anyone is thinking along those lines. People ADV on TW200s, this bike isn't hugely different from those; we're putting it out there in case it resonates with someone. Regardless, thanks for watching and contributing to the conversation, it's definitely appreciated.
