@@CoryD_85 and Mayo kept trying to speak for Keion lol then the media asked him again and he doubled down on his statement. The players didn’t respect him and they had no reason besides him being the coach
I still think it’s gonna be Mike Vrabel. Kraft just fired a first year HC after one season. Kraft is 82 years old and does not want to go through another situation with a first year HC. Don’t get me wrong, I like Johnson but I believe given the current situation the Patriots are in that Vrabel makes the most sense. I say that with the caveat that if they go that route they will also need a good OC. There is a lot on an HC’s plate. There is overall in charge of the team on the field, working with the GM to get the players in the draft and free agency for him to execute his vision, there is player development and that you also have to know enough about all three phases of the game with offense, defense and special teams and above all else there is getting your players to buy in to your vision of having a winning culture and all of that combined comes with experience. At some point a team has to give a Coordinator a shot at being a HC and Johnson deserves that. I’m just not sure Kraft wants to do that after the one he just had failed.
Yeah nobody can get players to buy into his vision more than Vrabel. Johnson is an unknown. Also our offense is a major downgrade from what he has now.
Agree. It would be potentially another major screw up. Can't afford it when you have a smart, tough HC who can turn this around quickly. With Vrabel, pats could be in playoffs by 26.
Well said,at this point,on THIS team,I have to give the edge to MV...Johnson will get his shot, probably will succeed ,sometime, somewhere,,,just a bit risky(lack of experience)for NE at THIS point...🤔
Here's the 1 flaw in your argument. Mayo...WASN'T a coordinator.....EVER (he was a LB coach....who deferred to Steve Belichick in playcalling as his tenure went on)....who shouldnt have been considered for the HC in the 1st place (based on his experience)...Ben Johnson is a tried and true "coordinator " that has shown TANGIBLE improvement in his coordinator duties (offensive side of the ball) and done worlds for the Detroit Lions...and has resurrected Jared Goff's career.....(as an owner that wants to ensure Drake Maye doesn't become Mac Jones and develop properly)....those are variables to seriously consider DESPITE not having "head coaching" experience
Yeah risky move hiring Ben that I dont think the Patriots want again with bringing in a Rookie head coack, I maybe wrong but one of the reasons why Jerod isn't here is the way he handled the press...Vrabel interviews on Thursday with the Patriots...that's why I think they should've gotten rid of Wolf also...a complete house cleaning

My god I don't want Vrabel or McDaniels back. I hope they go with Ben Johnson. I'll take a first time HC with a offensive mindset and modern style creative offense. They can hire a great defensive coordinator to run the defense. I just hope Ben would be involved in the offense and not be another Mayo that wasn't involved with his defense.
Mike is not a bad choice at all. He learned his coaching in college and then in the NFL. He did not learn to coach from Bill. Remember that. So it’s not like you’re bringing back this bill type of coach. It’s not even close to that. What Mike did in Tennessee was amazing. He nearly brought Tennessee Titans to the Super Bowl.

Yes, indeed. This selection for HC is SO major critical! Both Vrabel and Johnson have pluses. If Johnson, I SO hope he would be reasonably promptly successful, unlike Josh was when he went to the teams he went to. Very critical decision.
Sorry but Vrabel is not a good choice as HC...his record in Tennessee wasn't even that good...never had a points differential above 100 including the year they were the 1 seed...team success was on the back of Derrick Henry

There is no reason to fire him until hiring a head coach. There is still grunt work that Wolf and his minions can do, whether that's scouting or helping Krafts with selecting new coach

The coaches were involved as much as anybody.. and they should have made damn sure those WR's could work both before and after the draft. Their WR negligence is extraordinary.. they should have held those kids hands until they got it.. Look at Joe Milton; how many people passed on him and now look like idiots. If I'm a GM, I'm offering a top pick to make Joe Milton my QB. His size, arm, and running ability.. He looks like a superstar in the making...
We don’t need Ben Johnson Mike vrabel then the field, because it’s possible Ben Johnson turns out to be mcdaniels 2.0 great as coordinator but he’s not the coach. And vrabel could be tired of the bs and join his friend Tom over in Vegas . Being realistic that could very well happen
The Krafts should have brought in a mentor to help Mayo partway through the season. Maybe a Bruce Arians or a Frank Reich or a Ron Rivera to act as an assistant for Mayo. Not someone to take over but someone to give Mayo a seasoned, non-Belichick perspective. Now they are back at square 1, rolling the dice.
Evan Lazar was right about the locker room mutiny, players knew they needed to be coached better & harder. Keion White wasn't shy to say it
