The small quips are always a pleasure. "Alright, I'll just change the power port." "You can see where a roach... blew up." " 'Cause I like to be overconfident."
These videos are such a vibe. Not only I'm learning a ton, but it's also so chill and therapeutic. Lovely content. I did get lost on the power supply diagnostics, I guess I'll have to learn much more about it. Also, could you tell me what did you use to measure the big caps and decharge them? Thank you so much for all of your videos!! Edit: I found the discharger u used in AliExpress
Having a CUH-1215a (no power) being delivered. I’m hoping it’s a power supply issue, as I’ve ordered a new PS unit for it. But thanks to your videos, I’m going to tear it down, clean it, and hoping the PS is the issue! Thanks for the informative videos!
@@ToltecMerc hey, just to let you know, repair went swimmingly. Console was so dirty, couldn’t even manually spin the fan. Gave her a nice bath and replaced the power supply, and bam! Console turns on. Now just need a PS4 controller! 😂
A nice simple one every now and then sure helps to keep the momentum going, doesn't it? And another device saved from the recycling fate. The roach, however, shall not be so lucky. 😎
@@ToltecMerc yes Fluke are nice, which model would you recommend since there are models recommended for electricians and others for electronics? Thanks again
Nice repair! I'm struggling to find that small eject button spare part... I have 2 boards which buttons are completely flat and need to be changed, but i can't find them... :/
@@ToltecMerc yes that is what it sounds like. The thing is its the only thing it does. It wont even boot to say it overheats. Is not booting, it beebs like this and shuts right off. No video on UA-cam gives me any hint on this slim
Binge watch all your videos ... keep up the good work , Im currently getting into the whole technician repair field , your videos help very much !

@@ToltecMerc it really is! This was my first teardown! Thanks for the help
Nice video man i like you're fixing videos keep it up with the consoles

Another great video ,I had the same issue with this power supply ,one of 3 zeners was shorted .
Those resistors and that zener go quite often. I try to keep them on hand. Thanks for stopping by!
Another great video. Very informative keep up the good work

Yeah it was a little simpler than I thought it was going to be when I started recording. Oh well. Thanks for stopping by!
@@ToltecMerc No matter how simple, I always learn something from your videos. Cheers!
Another great video. Very informative. Just curious, what hot air station are you currently using?
Thank you! It’s a Quick 861DW.
Thanks for job sharing. Aliens inside, like few times. After clean work is sweeter.
Thank You!
Great job; again those damn things make my skin crawl. Do you ever get them in with live roaches in them?
Thank you! As best I can remember, only once have I seen a live roach in a console.
Nice job, congratulations from Brazil.
Thank you very much!
Nice... as always. That was some roach party!! thanks for sharing 👍
Yep, they are nasty but I bought it so I need to get it fixed and resold. Thanks for stopping by!
Great video as always. Do you repair anything other than consoles?
Occasionally I work on MacBooks.
@@ToltecMerc can you plz do a video then? that would be really interesting to watch?
Nice job!
Thanks!
Thumbs up, I also repair Playstation consoles, great content makes me sleep better 😅
Thank you! Best of luck in all your repairs! Make some videos to share you experience.
@@ToltecMerc yeah that would be fun, need a professional multimeter any specific model you could recommend? Thanks!
@@90sArcadeKid Fluke makes good stuff. Find a decent used Fluke meter.

Doing great job
Thanks!
I can’t believe you didn’t wear gloves! That is yuk!
I probably should have but it just did not occur to me.
God! If we can only see where these ps4 have been during its life. How in the world did it in infested with roaches
We probably would not want to see the things they have seen. If the console has so many roaches inside, imagine how many are in the rest of the house!
Your hand like Gold woooow
Thank you!

I have one slim that beeps once then 3 beeps and shuts off. To come on again need to unplug it then plug it back in. Ever happened to you?
The three beeps sounds like an overheat warning.

Could i get the part number of that fusible resistor thanks :)
Digi-key part # 0.16ACCT-ND
That thing would get a good scrub then in to my ultrasonic 🤢🤮
