Funny how you call the most spacious and nicer bathrooms “generic” and “plain” compared to the small ity-bitty airplane bathrooms like i get the beds but really?
Thanks for this! Just wanted to point one thing: When you build a ship, all objects go to the storage, which makes it a bit empty, but if you set another ship as home and then set yours as home right after, all the objects will be in their default place. Could make for a better display.
These are great! If you're open to feedback: they would be even better if you added timestamps, so they are easer to use as reference while building. Thumbs up!
Fun little detail about the Nova Galactic All in Ones: while they don't technically have a "Fridge" they do have refrigerated and frozen storage. You have to go real close to all the little compartments in the galley and squint at them, but they have markings on them showing that some of them are refrigerated, and some are even frozen. That's good attention to detail and helped with my OCD in adding living areas. I'm the kind of person who HAS to make sure every ship has enough bathrooms and a kitchen in addition to bunks.

Wow, I'm so glad I found your comparison videos! "You do the work so I don't have to!" HaHa. I had a lightbulb moment at the end of this video, when you were comparing the Stroud hab to the Deimos one. Traditionally Deimos builds military vessels for the UC, so their habs would tend to be more open and spartan. Moving the crew from bunk to battlestations quickly. Think aesthetics fitting function. Is your ship a deep spacer, a battleship, a bulk freighter?
As funny as it sounds, I do really like the implications of Deimos berths having better quality beds than the captains' quarters, because it really says one of two things. Either the captain is putting the crew's needs first, or the captain is physically uncomfortable in "better" quality bedding (which is a real thing - especially among military veterans. Given that Deimos is the military sci-fi aesthetic bed, I'd honestly say this makes a lot of sense).
When I was playing the game, I learned hopetech focused on efficiency and reliability but lacked comfort and style, mostly popular with the truckers of starfield. Then this video shows then being efficient but not comfortable lol
The only thing that would make this better is a little text on the side that notes all of the stations available (i.e. bed, galley, research station, etc) at the time stamps. Thank you for your effort!
I agree on taiyo, only it's cockpit seems luxurious with its nice chairs. They missed the mark just reskinning hopetech. I wish they'd diversified the looks of hopetech and taiyo a lot, and made smaller changes for stroud. Just seems like they had 3 decent styles but wanted a quick way to get 2 more manufacturers, stroud and taiyo.
If you connect the Stroud-Eklund (Going from Port to Starboard) AIO B AIO A (galley locations are mirror opposite becomes the connector door) then place a living quarters on either port or starboard of the two (It's door should be in the rear Port/Stbd) then you basically get a 3X3 for 6 passengers while retaining all the beds and still maintaining the Galley in the living quarters with plenty of seating and tables.

From my observations of the different modules - not just All-in-Ones, but all the habs - it seems like Deimos/Stroud and HopeTech/Taiyo are identical, just with different lighting inside. The only time ship manufacturers actually have their own personal uniqueness is when you start looking at cockpits or external parts. I understand that making Stroud and Taiyo unique would have been more work, more time, and more download size, but I can't help thinking it would have been totally worth it.

@@JB-xl2jc I'm all for Mods and I agree that "Modders will fix it" but yes, Bethesda should've taken more care in adding those little details to the building system, both the Ship and the Outpost.
A+ on the video. You should do separate ones on all the different habs. But the detail in this game ... you really get the idea that weight is critical in every design and everybody has to sacrifice comfort somewhere. But I do think you would expect at least one manufacturer to say, "screw weight". You spend your entire life in space, you want comfort to come to at the end of the day. And yeah, people are practical. I could literally see a ship captain being asked what berth hab modules they have on their ship before a crew member agrees to join.
I appreciate these walk throughs of the modules. It is an annoyance that when you are building a ship, you have to exit the builder and go into the ship physically to see how everything looks in the hab modules. Some way to more customize how the modules connect and look would be appreciated. I do like how the modules really sell the manufacturer's aesthetics in their look and lay out. They've clearly spent a lot of time to make each manufacturer feel different. I like Deimos' military style efficiency or Stroud-Eckland's Star Trek smooth futurism the best as well. There is appeal to Nova's NASA-punk designs too. I like the exterior looks of Hopetech and Taiyo better than the interiors. With Hopetech it makes some sense with their no frills space-trucker style. But in this case Taiyo just looks like they copy-pasted Hopetech and re-arranged it a bit. It will be interesting to see when the modders are able to get more into the systems of the game, what sort of ship modules we'll see.
Taiyo definitely feels like the least properly fleshed out of the manufacturers. They're supposed to be this luxury form over function brand, but most of the time they just look like palette swapped Hopetech, the bargain "space trucker" brand.
Hopetech is my favorite but I do think the couch and beds drag it down a ton, a mod for that would be easy I'd think though. A more compact space that's better broken up in a 2x2 for an all in one I think would just be the way to go for making cool stuff, also I wish they had a 1x1 that's just a nice full bathroom tbh, but maybe dlc would do that?
So glad to see more and more videos doing dives into individual modules as shipbuilding was one of the parts of the game I was looking forward into most! (Bookmarking your vid for future reference) I'm definitely the kind of person to bring other IPs and trying to replicate other ships. I currently have the Eagle Transports from Space: 1999 in place and a partially functional Star Saber from TF: Victory as a Class A fighter. Right now I am trying to plan out the Aerowing from ST: Voyager. My biggest issue is self-inflicted: I always run a game cheat-free at first just to enjoy the game as-intended before breaking out the console commands or mods. My biggest headache is the level lock on so many modules. Anyone know if there is a site or Google Doc that has a table of modules, levels unlocked, and location to find if hidden? That and videos like this with walkthroughs really help in my RPing ships.
It'd be nice if Bethesda just made all Modules visible but greyed out with a "Requires Level XX" on it instead of not being there at all until you reach said Level.
@@delindsay Considering they didn't even give us city maps, much less ones for the capitals, shows where their priorities are. I still get lost in New Atlantis looking for the elevator to The Well or the weapons shop. And don't get me started on trying to get to the waterfall overlook every time Sarah gets in the mood. I know it is the same elevator but that is why I can't remember where it is. lol
It has to be Deimos or Stroud. All the other interiors look much cheaper. Especially Tayio and Hope Tech look insanely cheap. I mean just look at their "beds".
1:56 - galley will disappear if there is a door or a window. It wont move to other wall, just disappear. Only middle section will stay in place even if you have something in all 6 connection points. So keep in mind. Hope and Taiyo all-in-ones are kinda proofed against it, they has galley in the middle. 7:54 - fun fact. SE galley use the same stove as we use now on good boat/yachts. YOu see that things above stove surface? Like C shaped rods on a slider? They are used to hold your pots in place at rough seas.
@@delindsay yea this is very annoying especially when my OCD needs proper number of beds for all crew + potential passengers on board, I went full windows because they look cool and give you lighting source from outside - big mistake, almost everything was deleted and all habs looked more or less the same
@@MrSherhi I'm also on the point of trying for 1 bed per Crew but it's tough. Best I managed is 5 beds (2 are in the Armory as a mini Brig) due to the wonky way the Habs link with doors.

But videos like these are helpfull, atleast I know that if I want 2 double beds in some hub I have to place it in very specific location of my ship and also If I turn for example 3x2 mess hall into a crossroads going into other hubs it will be empty...
@@MrSherhi That's why I'm doing these videos so others can visualize the interior BEFORE building themselves because I had the exact same problems you're having and it frustrated me to no end. We NEED a "Preview" option or some such thing in the Ship Builder.
Can't stand Taiyo habs, they're supposed to be luxury options, but they are all so dingy and dirty looking, and even in the last one it has a random crash couch just sitting there as furniture.
It's interesting that they're designed with different bed accomodations, but all have the same passenger slots. I assume they started designing them before making the decision to making them universal across the brands.
Honestly I just assumed the designs were cookie cutter replicates and didn’t even think to look at different companies Habs ect. Great video. Past midnight and I gotta fire it up to see for myself. 👍
Technically 3 with nova galactic because the all in one on the frontier is a unique named berth called “frontier” has pics of vasco on the walls but almost the same as nova A
How'd you get those hallway connection between HABs? I've never found any of those in the game?! EDIT: Paused it in time to see the name of it, Nova Cross Passage.
Nova is on Titan and are the White Crossways Port-Stbd. HopeTech on Palvo in Valo are the Black Crossways that also have exterior snap points and fit both ways.
Nova captains quarters is the first class single bed way to go for all passengers! Forget double bunks. The nova A should be the real captains quarters with its research and plotting tables. Taiyo got left for last to skin and it shows. They should have made it look like IRL airstream interiors. Clean and minimalist with leather and pure aluminum interior. Dropped the ball.
I like the NOVA-design so much - but one problem with both All-In-One: connecting them in the length will cut out each WC-shower-unit. So if you like a more or less real looking and real functioning living in spaceship or campingcar-feeling you have to position at least one of those at the very end of the modules (as well the NOVA-captains btw.)
Agree. Sometimes I just give up and put them on the top or bottom of something else with no other connections, so the bathroom or bunks don't disappear and just deal with the ladder that creates. It's how I added extra crew space for my custom Econohaul, my first purchased ship upgrade. I just took off the top section (which was just for show) and replaced it with an all in one.
The funny thing about the Taiyo Astro hubs is that they are supposed to be the Apple version of hubs (from my understanding). Once you see them on the insde, like you said, they are kinda low end versions. I guess they are fancy on the outside, meh on the inside.
Deimos hubs got this military like theme, white walls, dark floor. I like their battlestation 2x2 and control station 2x1, because its military feel. Dark grey and box type from the outside. Stroud is more like cleaner explorer type theme, white walls, white floor, right size. Somehow white from the outside. Hopetech/Nova/Taiyo, i dont use them because of their rounded shape from the outside during ship build. It makes the design so challenging when adding structural do give the final design.
Good video. Very informative too. So thank you. But when it comes to ship building, I fully understand why different shipyards will supply different parts. But the one thing that really gets me frustrated are the flat weapons mounts. You can get the twin vertical ones at every station I've been too. But the flat ones. Nope. Only certain shipyards will supply them. Which I think is totally bonkers. *_It should be a generic part for any ship so everywhere should supply them. As they do with the twin vertical weapon mounts._* _What say you?_
I agree that there should be more parity between the various Shipyards. A Weapon Mount is needed by ALL Ships so ALL Shipyards you'd think would want to always have them in stock.
I don't know if you already plan to make videos for every hab like this, I and probably many others would SUPER appreciate having that resource. I love building ships but the style for the interiors is always lost on me so I always end up unsatisfied with it. After seeing this I'm never using anything other than Stroud A 🤣 unless I wanna build a povertyspec ship, then HopeTech is the goto.
Stroud looks like an current day airplane. Hope tech is grunge. It's a matter if taste But building only with stroud parts the ship always end up looking like a sandwich from the outside
HopeTech is basically space trucker modules. Cheap looking, not comfortable but reliable and affordable. I am a bit puzzled by the Tayo one, too. I thought Tayo was supposed to be cyberpunk, more round lines, futuristic, but it looks very cheap inside.
I feel like Bethesda had originally planned to have each Corp super distinct from each other and at some point the higher ups forced their hand with time or money or both.
Its almost like somebody in the design team mixed up the interiors of the Taiyo and Deimos habs. Taiyo feels really spartan inside for a space yaht designer, and Deimos is very cushy for a UC warship interior. Weird.
In the future, it would have been nice if you show the single then the matching double right after it to make it easier to compare. Just put the double over the single, so it's nice and fast to compare the changes, rather than all the singles then all the doubles. Great videos other than that!
Honestly I think Taiyo sucks. Don't know why they're so popular in-universe. I don't like Apple either though with the analogue cult following so maybe they're onto something. The reskinning of Hopetech is just lame. You can use their top habs lack of side doors to force door placement tho which is nice I guess.
Using Stroud Eckland B, and attached a docking module to the side, and it... it placed the table in front. I can no longer board my ship via docking. Ffs. (Fix, gonna try the A instead, failing that, the command suite)
I really think Taiyo deserves some better interior fixtures considering they’re supposed to be high-end. Their interiors sometimes look worse than HopeTech which is very inconsistent
for the most part, it makes the furniture in that section (side/back/front) disappear. If you ever want to place windows, check the Hab 1st with a top or bottom connection, pay attention to the layout and what sides/front/back you're fine with it deleting the furniture/cargo/etc and place your windows there.
Nova A is the only All in 1 2x1s with 3 stations, Cooking, Navigation(not entirely necessary), and Research. All the others are only passenger slots and a few with Cooking. In terms of design the others look way better in fashion or function.
@@delindsay I haven't looked into it yet, but are there other Unique Habs for ships besides the Nova Frontier 2x1 from the starter ship? And second question, can you Delete the Hab from the Frontier and switch ships at the same shipyard and place the Frontier Hab on another ship?
@@brenon45 I haven't owned all that many Ships yet to give you a correct answer about different unique Habs to certain Ships. As for swapping anything between Ships, no, not that I've found at least. There may be a Mod that allows that but I'm still playing as no-Mods right now.
@@brenon45 A few days ago i used console commands to buy every ship to see if they had anything unique. Sadly, I did not see anything that stuck out. As far as i can tell, the only benefit to the premade ships is that they may have parts that are otherwise level locked.

Good now find me a hab with an airlock so I can jettison Cora into space. "I hope she is not too underfoot" "Yes, she is", Warning airlock engaged...
Thanks! Followed the hell out of you.
Much appreciated!
I feel like Nova A and B are designed to be stacked with B atop A. Their interior layouts say "I'm a tiny 2 story house" to me.
There you go!
I made a point to store my chems on my ship and a subset of ingredients as I really like using the various meds and food for immersion.
Imagine buckling into that couch then have all that loose furniture flying everwhere
For real! I get it, it's a "game" and not reality but still.
Serious, why aren't we utilizing 1x1's for more than just a place to walk through.
The lighting in the SE ones makes the most sense for an area people sleep
So glad to see more and more videos doing dives into individual modules as shipbuilding was one of the parts of the game I was looking forward into most! (Bookmarking your vid for future reference)
I'm definitely the kind of person to bring other IPs and trying to replicate other ships.
I know it is the same elevator but that is why I can't remember where it is. lol
@@TenNoZeorymer72 No joke about New Atlantis.
It has to be Deimos or Stroud. All the other interiors look much cheaper. Especially Tayio and Hope Tech look insanely cheap. I mean just look at their "beds".
Hope Tech is supposed to look like cheap trash! They definitely nailed that look.
My favorite habs to use and that I always go with is a mix of Stroud/Eklund and Deimos, and I always go with the dark lit habs of those two.
As long as you're happy with the end result, that's all that matters.
Nova Galactic B is in my opinion the winner. The small bedrooms are a touch that the crew will love.
These videos are super useful. Thanks
You are most welcome.
Coming from your armory video. This is good stuff. Ok so nova A is basically Frontier interior. Nova B is for more crew looks like.
Indeed. In my previous video I went over how Windows/Doors delete whole sections of interior items. I just used Armories on that video.
@@delindsay I put 2 all in ones (nova 2x1) and got like 2 beds in those due to doors and windows, plus I tried 2 of those 2x2 living quarters and there was like only 1 bed...pretty insane, it takes o alo of time to go in and out into to shipbuilder to make things the way you want them to be...also english not being my native language means I have 0 understanding of those shallow hub describtions games gives me.
Hopetech really going for that "trailer park in space" look...
Great vid! I hate how there's no preview while building...this answers all questions.
Can't stand Taiyo habs, they're supposed to be luxury options, but they are all so dingy and dirty looking, and even in the last one it has a random crash couch just sitting there as furniture.
Serious.
It's interesting that they're designed with different bed accomodations, but all have the same passenger slots. I assume they started designing them before making the decision to making them universal across the brands.
That would be my guess also.
I like to think of Taiyo as Japanese future tech on the outside, but Japanese home minimalism on the inside.
Thank you for putting this together. S-E A is fire
You're welcome. The plan is to do a full comparison of all Hab types since Bethesda didn't give us a "compare" or "preview" option when building.
It sucks that we can't view interior of ships before buying... Thank god channels like yours exist
this is going to save me a lot of grief lmao. thanks bro!
You're most welcome!
Ooh.. #1's bathroom is small, but has a shower, toilet, and sink... that's not bad.
Certainly better than nothing.
Honestly I just assumed the designs were cookie cutter replicates and didn’t even think to look at different companies Habs ect. Great video. Past midnight and I gotta fire it up to see for myself. 👍
Stroud-Eklund is a favorite of mine. Off topic, the passageway, where do those come from?
HopeTech and Nova Gallactic, each have their own respective crossways. It'll be at the bottom of their Hab section, at their Staryard.
thanks, watching your videos while building ship.
I hope it helps you make an awesome Ship!
Technically 3 with nova galactic because the all in one on the frontier is a unique named berth called “frontier” has pics of vasco on the walls but almost the same as nova A
I just wish we could purchase the Frontier Hab for other Ships.
Yeah, you end up playing Hab Tetris basically.
Ha! That actually makes perfect sense.
Where did the armory video go? The one you mentioned in the video
It's the "Fix Empty Ships" video: ua-cam.com/video/rfEIuDoK3o8/v-deo.htmlsi=7VHaJBXg1y9uPcip
Is this a new series? , this is quite amazing , really helping me out
Indeed it is and I'm glad it helped you out.
This is awesome man keep it up
Great video man. Very helpful ❤
I use the Deimos Battlestation myself in my main Ship.
As they do with the twin vertical weapon mounts._*
_What say you?_
I agree that there should be more parity between the various Shipyards. A Weapon Mount is needed by ALL Ships so ALL Shipyards you'd think would want to always have them in stock.
also the top bottom and mid. note door and window placement also alters interiors
Finally a useful starfield video.
I do indeed, in fact making tomorrow's video of another Hab comparison here in a few minutes. and LMAO at the 'povertyspec' Ship ahahaha.
Stroud looks like an current day airplane.
Hope tech is grunge. It's a matter if taste
But building only with stroud parts the ship always end up looking like a sandwich from the outside
@@KaiSoDaM LMAO, Imma build me a Stroud sammich.
@@KaiSoDaM no doubt, stroud A is just a nice vibe and hopetech's perfect for listening to deftones in after you almost get killed on a bounty
man we really need a ingame walk around feature for the interior
Stroud has a 3x1 all in one cabin that is awesome
Yes it does, I use it myself. 3x1's will be after the 2x2's.
@@delindsay Money wise maybe. They had plenty of time though after the 1 year delay.
@@tiberius8390 One would think so.
The perfect ship
I mean, it does it's job.
Constellation......what's that? I AM THE MANTIS!
where do you get the walkways ?
that will fix ladder problems i have instantly !
HopeTech on Palvo in the Valo system are the black ones with snap points. Nova on Titan in the Sol system are the white ones.
thank you !@@delindsay
@@NoNo-ce8xb Welcome
Its almost like somebody in the design team mixed up the interiors of the Taiyo and Deimos habs. Taiyo feels really spartan inside for a space yaht designer, and Deimos is very cushy for a UC warship interior. Weird.
Agreed.
In the future, it would have been nice if you show the single then the matching double right after it to make it easier to compare. Just put the double over the single, so it's nice and fast to compare the changes, rather than all the singles then all the doubles. Great videos other than that!
What are the little walkways you used to connect the habs?
Great video thanks bro appreciate it
You're welcome.
That's an odd thing to happen, instead of deleting the interior it just placed it in your way like a barricade.
Hate it when modifying my ship and the toilets disappear 😂...
HAHA! Indeed.
How does that bad boy handle around corners?
I really think Taiyo deserves some better interior fixtures considering they’re supposed to be high-end. Their interiors sometimes look worse than HopeTech which is very inconsistent
Taiyo is stated to be all style no substance which is pretty fitting for the flashy interior and crappy interior
I like to put side window on habs and it messed up the layout or just make some furniture disappear entirely
for the most part, it makes the furniture in that section (side/back/front) disappear.
Indeed.
@@NickGuelker thanks for looking into it. Disappointing that this wasn't something Bethesda thought to look into.
Thanks for this video. 😅 I need a shower and bathroom in my ship. 🥺 I fond it odd we dont have one
It's likely due to space savings but I'm sure there'd be someone who wants a Space Yacht that has a separate Shower installed.
@@delindsay thanks for the reply. 👍 take this SUB keep going little Rockstar 🥰
@@leopoldkain6815 Much appreciated.
What’s the point of these berths gameplay-wise? They have no purpose other than sleeping (and one with a research station).
Aesthetic or RP, that's about it.
I cant wait til we get a mod that takes out the random notes and graffiti from the habs. Why is there a childs drawing on my war ship?!?
