I am obviously backseating here and while I agree I do think Rory could’ve perhaps phrased his refutation slightly betters. Yes he did get to the democracy part but if he argued something to the tone of “I opposed Brexit because I did not believe it to be in the interests of the people, however they have decided otherwise and consequently I will support the people’s choice” I feel like he could’ve avoided the whole back and forth.
@@owentill True but he did argue that in essence. You would think Susanna had the intelligence for it not to be needed to dumb it down to this extent. Maybe she was just playing devils advocate
@@archie7218 perhaps, I’m not a huge fan of advocating the devil if it entails interruptions and the sort of uncivil behaviour exhibited during this interview by both interviewers though.
She seemed to have a talking point that she was given, and needed to make, but was incapable of either listening to what he had to say and/or understanding what he was saying.
Well clearly events proved him wrong. Brexit was a stunning success, Jonson was a marvellous leader with enormous integrity and the security situation in Eastern Europe was fine.
'A very smart, eloquent guy.' He has excellent morals too. Heaven forbid we have a leader like him 😉🙄 Journalists trying to hold him to one point only and ignoring his points - pathetic.
Talking over the top of people doesn't make a good interview, it's just annoying. Let the man finish for god's sake. He did very well in what must of been a frustrating experience.
‘I was concerned with security in Eastern Europe’… Fair play Rory
What a missed opportunity for Britain
this is so sad. genuinely depressing. how do they not understand a word he's saying...
Susanna’s line of questioning in this interview shows a complete lack of understanding of how parliamentary democracy works in this country

Why not let the guy actually speak rather than interrupting him.
Rory has the patience of a saint
Yes! The mark of a truly intelligent person.

Haha, indeed, I bet he feels very silly! 😅

So rare these days to see a politician who answers questions.
Rory Stewart is a decent person. And he’s very articulate and intelligent. A great loss to British politics.
Missed opportunity. Rory would be a great PM.
Thankyou Rory for respecting the Will of the British people

Boris Johnson didn’t believe in Brexit but that seemed perfectly adequate for a bumbling liar
Florence of Belgravia is a consocialist.
