Raegan is such a great actress, the emotions she shows in her acting is truly amazing and as for the character Missy, I feel so bad for her, she’s truly hurting and no one cares or notices until things go “too far”.
@@user-ul3lj7il6hshe's hurt that everyone forgot her at school. She's hurt by hearing from another child at school that her dad might be cheating. She's hurt that Sheldon gets all the attention and is always excused from everything.
@@user-ul3lj7il6h She’s still a kid, she feels left out because she clearly knows something is going on between her parents and they won’t talk to her about it. Her dad forgot to pick her up and barley toke accountability for it and told her off, I get it was an accident and everyone was stressed but come on. Her parents barley talked to her during the episode, they dismissed her and when they did finally talk to her it was to yell at her and ignore her questions, feelings & concerns. Mandy, one of the people who she looked up to and saw as a sister also dismissed her completely. All this in just one episode is a lot for a young teenager. There are many instances in the show where she’s been treated completely unfairly compared to Sheldon and it’s clear as day, just to add, I don’t think she’s a brat at all, she’s just tired in so many ways. She probably feels like nobody cares about her, that she’s a burden, so why would she want to stay? Why wouldn’t she be hurt? Your lack of empathy for a kid who’s clearly being neglected is just sad.
3:41 she's got a point, when sheldon says something disrespectful he gets away with it. And when Mary said "this is not about sheldon" and Missy said "for once" it's like everyday is always about sheldon, same with the big bang theory.
That is a complete lie. Sheldon does not gets away with disrespect: 1) When he accuses Sturgis of plagiarism, he is banned from the class. 2) When he gives a speech to the school encouraging them to rebel against authority, he is sent to bed without dinner. 3) When he lashes out at his family and leaves the dinner table because of the stress from his newspaper job, George talks sense into him and makes him apologize. 4) When he tries to cut the hair of Missy's doll, Mary grounds him and doesn't say anything to Missy
Sheldon is special( Needs ). Now Missy really is special, in every way. I put this all down to Mary , by putting Sheldon first above all the family members. I do know that’s it’s a TV show by the way. JR/UK
Sheldon may not be a real person, but I have watched every episode and I believe Sheldon wasn’t smacked enough for being disrespectful to his parents and meemaw. Just because he is gifted, doesn’t mean he’s smart. He needed more discipline, not coddling. I may not be gifted like Sheldon and he may have autism(very likely) like me, but unlike his mother, I would’ve been disciplined if I ever disrespected my mother.
@@EmoSkull-hv7fjWhy do you agree all of a sudden? Those are four instances. There were many times when his mother didn’t discipline him. When meemaw slapped him and he got mad and told his mother. She didn’t discipline him or when he ran away to see dr. Sturgiss on the bus and the cops were called(apparently this happened 7 times in his life). Or when he was disrespectful because Mary was a Christian and Sheldon made fun of that countless times and he never got disciplined for it. Him being likely autistic, is not an excuse for his lack of being reprimanded. He may have been gifted in science, but he was more ignorant everywhere else.
When she insulted her teacher, that was the best moment for her parents ando the teacher to sit her down and ask her what she was feeling, what was happening. Not to ground her, but to try to help her. Instead, the teacher called the parents ando they grounded her. And she looked for help! And the last person was Mandy. But I can't blame her for ignoring Missy. She has had a baby recently, and was tired. But the rest of the family justo pushed her away.
As someone who's had two kids, I won't blame Mandy much either, she just went through a lot and she's learning how to readjust to life. But everyone else makes me upset here.
I don't blame Missy for being upset. Her parents have pushed her to the side her entire life and focused 99.5% of their time on Sheldon. But instead of stealing the truck, she could have just went to the chicken coop next door
It’s nobody’s fault that sheldon is a hard kid. He likely struggles with autism too. Missy on the other hand is just average. Not particularly good at anything.
Pushing away? And what about “daddy-daughter” dates? Baseball trainings? Meemaw who is always there for her?... Georgie who is rather protective and caring? She has a nice family and she is loved by so many people Not everyone is that lucky... + She slammed the door at her father’s face and he didn’t even hit her, yell or anything
In an earlier episode, I wrote all the things they had done to Missy. People were really upset with me for pointing out how Mary and George Sr look after Sheldon's every need while forcing Georgie to work from an early age and making Missy the maid for everything. The one time where Missy really shined was when she was playing baseball. What angers me about TBBT is that Sheldon doesn't see how his siblings were basically sacrificed so that he could be successful. I thought the writers were way to lenient on Sheldon when he went to see Georgie who told him how he abandoned the family after George Sr died. That Sheldon is allowed to talk so disrespectful about his siblings is the greatest wrong in this series. Missy is running away for a reason: there is a deep lack of love and respect for her as an individual. The same goes for Georgie.
@@sweetspicy92 it is different for everyone. I feel sorry that you have to experience that, but if she feel neglected it is still being neglected. I am not very good at expressing what I mean. Hopefully you understand.
@@sweetspicy92 I get what your saying about neglect in a home that appears to be solidly middle class. People think that Prince Harry wasn't being neglected coming from a rich family, but he was emotionally neglected which I understand. As a former foster child, I was always expected to take the high ground regardless if I was wronged with no reward for good behavior nor special privileges as if my rights didn't matter. Parents can't treat one child better than the other while ignoring the neglected child's feelings. One day after being made to suck it up, I kicked my foster sister so hard that I left a bruise (I'm not proud of this). No violence doesn't solve anything, but my sister and foster parents got the message that I wasn't to be toyed with and was to treated with respect. Every child deserves this. Missy isn't getting this in her house of plenty! Because she's not, she's going to act out and trouble will find her. For me I went to college and grew up-a lot. However, I still understand that I wasn't treated well by my carers!
She's such a drama queen. I was the ignored youngest sibling. My parents and older siblings would often forget about picking me up. I was most of the time out of the loop when it came to family issues. They forget to pick her up one time. Yes they forgot about her on the birth of the baby. that happens all time for us the youngest of the family. I never got all dramatic the many times I was forgotten and kept out of the loop.
I’m glad they’re showing this because so many children feel this way. Missy’s family loves her but they’re preoccupied and not showing it the way she receives love. It’s a great reminder for us mom, dads, big sisters, brothers aunts and uncles to be attentive even when life happens.

Line from George where he said lots of other kids walk, drop it, and Mary saying not today you’re not really shows that they’re focusing on just her behavior and not why she’s acting like that people in general would be better off if they focus more on the root of issues instead of what just makes them uncomfortable😢 George never answered any of her questions and Mary didn’t even care that she Felt neglected.
I don't know why everyone is being to dismissive of Missy. As far as I'm concerned, Mandy is the only one whose behavior was justified, due to having JUST given birth and dealing with a newborn. Everyone else really could have taken a few minutes to try and seriously talk with Missy and try to understand and let her talk about how she felt.
Well TBH the parents really had tought moments during this time, I mean they even didn't care that Sheldon's database failed Its just Missy did overreact
@@salehbayram7046 Of course she did, She's a teenage girl, they overreact a LOT. I know I did, back in the day. But that doesn't mean her reaction wasn't at all justified. Maybe it was a little over the top, but the feelings were valid.
@@salehbayram7046That is the problem a lot of parents and people have in reaction to teenage girls. Their reactions to the situation either seem or are disproportionate to the crime. However, what lead to the reaction usually carries logic and validity but a lot of parent use the excuse of the reaction being over the top to stamp out that validity and not actually address WHY they reacted in the first place.
Habit. They were used to her taking care of herself. She was highly emotionally intelligent and always helped take care of the family. As a side effect of being self sufficient she was ignored. The tragic irony is that her best ally in the house was also the reason why everyone's energy was directed elsewhere.
@@TheRealRickGrimes Ah memories, I can't remember why anymore, I "ran away from home", but I was old enough to drive. I changed my mind...snuck into the house, and no one knew I'd been gone, (maybe 5 hours).
I understand a 100% what Missy is feeling right now. My mom never made time for me growing up and my dad wanted nothing to do with me. Always had time for my siblings but never me. We're better now as adults but that pain leaves a nasty scar
My mom grew up poor in the south and had that serve the men in her brain. From the time my little brothers were born, my sister and I were expected to sacrifice and serve them. It was just the way it was, and it only got worse when my dad died. Any dreams my sister or I might have had didn't count. Sis married out of it; I never realized how much she carried till it fell on me. It might not have been so bad if they hadn't been so disrespectful and dismissive of my contribution. Yep, good for Missy. You go, girl.
I got the left over attention, which wasn't much after two older brothers and one way younger sister. BUT I am the only child that can say I moved out at 17 and never looked back. I'm the only one who never moved back as an adult, never had any bills paid, nor any car given to me from my parents. I did it all on my own!!!
"Dealing with failure is a tricky one... You can face it and overcome it, you can avoid it, you can drown it down, you can talk to someone about it and some people choose to run" - Sheldon Cooper What a profound insight !!
It's all so sad and you can see everyone's perspective. Missy being neglected so much and then recent events tipped her over the edge. The family having to care for Sheldon due to his abnormality and then being unusually busy with both the birth and the climax of relationships falling apart. Depressing...
This was expected. They are going towards George’s death as we all know. I think they are doing a good job of showing how we get there, as depressing as it is. It’s such a unique family show and frankly speaking covers everyday life of so many families in western world. I am sure a lot of people can find some character that they can relate with.
Its even worse when you realise what eventually happens to her. Im betting they get her back, make promises they never keep , then George dies and she gets stuck in Marys orbit forever.
@Christopher Bingham you forgot Paige at the frat party. The missed that part. I was hoping for them covering why she lied about the sleepover, being at a frat party, then saving Paige who was in bigger danger than Missy. The writers need something to remove Paige from the BBT story. Too important a character in YS they need a amnesia attack. I hope for alternate universe and BBT isn't the real future and that whole time is avoided.
This is a perfect example of how narcissistic her mother is, and how dense her father is. her MOTHER always prioritized Sheldon over her, and let everything slide even tho he's smart enough to kno that he shouldn't say obnoxious things, and they still let it slide cause he's "special" but in a positive way. He's SMART not stupid, and yet they treat him the same way they'd treat a disabled person. She only gets attention from both parents when she is in trouble so I can understand why she ran away
Although a twin, Missy is more of a middle child. Not the first not the "youngest" which is where sheldon fits. Being a middle myself, being invisible is not hard to understand.
Missy is actually younger than Sheldon they said it several times on the show. But I do agree that missy does fit as a middle child and Sheldon does have youngest child vibes.
@Christopher Bingham shut up you keep spaming the same idiotic messege and excuses in all the videos of the show when People point the very obvious neglect of Missy and is already getting annoying
She’s not wrong and George getting pissy with her about forgetting her. I bet if it was Sheldon they’d be on their hands and knees begging for forgiveness.
How Missy stayed for so long is beyond me... literally everyone around her was more concerned with anything else but her! It's like "oh Missy will get by, we need to worry more about Sheldon" or "Georgie should be our focus now, let's think about Missy if and when we have time... or not... who cares"! Ugh! Missy is a perfect example of emotional neglect! Like her EQ is probably higher than ever adult around her, and she could have turned out to be way more successful if only even a single adult paid just a little attention to her for once!
@Christopher Bingham If so she figured wrong. Even to do that would require her to be less self absorbed that she has thus far demonstrated herself to be.
“Sheldon says obnoxious things all the time.” “Oh when he does it it’s okay but when I do it you freak out like I took a crap on your head something.” I know she didn’t say it but I’ll bet that’s what she was thinking .
George should have been more apologetic to Missy. He didn't seem to care that much and Missy felt so left out since everyone else got to be at the hospital
What about hot pants Mary ,she never took time to see how Missy was,too busy crapping on George, while mooning over a younger pastor ,and feeling sorry for herself .
I dont think missy did anything wrong, the parents are acting like babies and the teacher was only mad because she got called out in front of the classroom
Missy is a teenager, she's at that stage where she's gonna rebel and she has been neglected her whole life so it is completely normal for her to feel this way we've all gone threw the teenage stage she'll learn that's what happens you learn
While she did go over the line both in the way she talked to her teacher and in stealing the car, nothing she said was invalid. She has always been the forgotten one in the family because she isn't as drama filled as georgie or as intelligent as sheldon. She is just there. And that should be enough to get noticed by her parents but instead when something bad happens she is the one who suffers and if it is directly her fault the go over the top with scolding and go straight to berating. I've had to walk home from school many times but nothing hurts more then when you are waiting for them pick you up only to find out they forgot about you. It is one of the most painful walks home you can ever experience. Because it reaffirms everything you thought: that no one, not even your family, cares about you. So Missy is not the bad guy here. She was pushed to far and out of everyone's lives so she decided to leave like they made her feel
@Christopher Bingham how can you say her feelings are invalid? Also can you please not spam this as a reply under so many comments defending how missys feelings are invalid? THIS may be a show but this is how many children and teenager live. Yes I agree people may ignore some of the things the family did for her But you can not ignore how much the family hurt her even if indirectly And you mentioned that they took her the red lobster in yhe copy paste comment you used for the nth time right? Do you remember under what circumstances it happened? Because if my memory serves me right it was after she saw how missy admitted she felt alone to the doctor during the study this could aswell be counted as guilt Also even if everyone is entitled to their own opinion doesn't mean you should go to each and every comment and belittle their opinion with a copy paste text which is the only comeback you have If you do want to read this just as much as I wanted to read yours after the 1st sentence (which is non at all) here is a simpler form: Stop copy-pasting the same exactly comment and belittle others opinion And stop invalidating feelings of others

They are focused on being right instead of seeing it from all sides
@Samuel Robles maybe But that doesn't give anyone the right to belittle someone else neither their opinion no matter who it is and where the opinion was stated Also there are also cases where people do not change anything because noone ever corrects them which can lead down a dangerous path for one's mental health even MORE if they are a victim, because being the victim of such a thing is already bad for the mental health and noone realizes until the damage has been done and maybe way past that Nit picking all the nice things they did for missy is never gonna change the fact that the family indeed neglected her And that logic also counts in every real life family that has this problem No matter if they take you out to celebrate your birthday in Disneyland every year and bring you am amazing cake when for the rest of the year you aren't important enough for them to care how your day has been Because giving the child a 'once in a life time' thing once in a while and then going on about your day continuing the neglect is way more cruel then when you never do it The child hopes that "this time it will be diffrent" "they will change" but the next day they wake up to the reality that it will propably never happen I do apologize for the long texts

This is a big episode for everyone. Sheldon may be being pushed into the background a bit more but he's still trying to prepare himself, Georgie and Mandy are going to be dealing with a baby and all the struggles with it, George and Mary are more separated since the only time they talk about anything is if it involves helping the kids, Meemaw is caught in the cross fire while Missy is on the outside looking in, she is so alone, and while Sheldon is trying to be helpful he's more focused on other stuff, everyone is too focused on the baby or George and Mary's relationship that Missy isn't getting any attention.
@@christina74829 but it is clear that everyone has forgotten about Missy. Sheldon was the only one who wanted to talk to her about it. Her parents marriage is over and Georgie’s dealing with his daughter.
The fact that Sheldon really wanted to talk to Missy is the part that really gets me, he was the only one willing to her. Also I should point that I get Missy feeling neglected and I do feel for her but I'm a bit unnerved by people being like "Missy is just a kid" anytime she acts like a rude, obnoxious brat and then criticize Sheldon (who is her twin brother) even when he's barely doing anything wrong especially in this, the most he annoyed was Linkletter as usual (and maybe his father at first) but that was it. It's not like he was whining about it, he was genuinely vulnerable about his passion project failing and went to his mother for comfort since in his mind, she's the one who gets him. Give it a rest, IT'S SHELDON COOPER, NOT JOFFREY BARATHEON.

Missy running away is probably the best thing for her, i ran away when i was 14, im 30 now and my life is WAY better now. Last i heard my family is still looking for me but i dont care.
I left to Minnesota with my uncle and his girlfriend, but when i was 17 my uncle passed away and I just lived with his girlfriend, she was 28. This episode was such a heart breaker. It’s so incredible that this show keeps giving so much heart in every thread and teaches life lessons. Quite ironic that Sheldon can be considered villain of the family. If it wasn’t for him being so special/selfish(unknowingly ofcourse) and ignorant about others, a lot of the problems could have been avoided. One can say Missy is over reacting but she does have a point of being ignored her whole life. The recent events just lit the fire. Georgie, the guy with the biggest mistake of everyone is doing the best of em. He more than made up for his mistake. Feel for George, poor bastard is suffering for no reason and all alone. Mary at least has her mother and the baby to look after. George has marriage problems, the child he is attached to most is mad at him. Has a son who is in a mess no father would be happy about and no friends who would support him. Man can u blame him for having a heart attack that’s coming?
I don't know how to say this but seeing some ignorned and abused people who never left out of fear and ultimately saw their lives destroyed, I feel like missy did nothing wrong 😢
Although its understandable why Missy ran away, George and Mary are really gonna be like "Missy you really scared us" even though she's gonna say she felt invisible
I don’t know. That’s what they did the first time she ran away, a couple seasons ago. They promised they would focus on her more and told her how important she was, but mostly just let it slide because she was like 12 or something.

Have to walk home every single day, but I understand stand that my parents have to work 9 to 5 to provide for the family. Don't understand why Missy is acting so melodramatic because her parents forgot to pick her up once.
Missys feeling forgotten and like no one cares for her and all her parents need to do is say sorry, give her a hug, show her they do care. I dont mean a half assed apology where you say it just to get her to stop being angry and then try to defend yourself when she is rightfully angry. Instead of comforting her and showing someone in her life does care, they yell at her.
George snr only talks to Brenda whereas Mary goes out and has lunch with the youth pastor, she has held his hand alone in her house and confides in him. George had a heart attack at Brenda suggesting more. He helps her out because she is lonely but I don't see him in the wrong at this stage
I think part of the problem might be that George and Mary can't even articulate their own feelings as to what is going on to themselves or each other let alone their teenage daughter. I think George and Mary both feel they have a "cheatin' heart" here where even if they weren't physically intimate outside their marriage, they had thoughts of it, or at least were emotionally intimate outside their marriage in a way that neither is comfortable with. With some proper marriage counseling they might be able to fix their marriage, but likely it would be a while before they can really answer Missy's questions. That said, it seems like the grandmother maybe should have sat down with the kids to say that their parents are going through some challenges with their marriage right now and need some time and space to work through some things. Ask for the kids to try to be as self-sufficient as possible for now to avoid further stress on their parents, and if they need something to reach out to her. Don't assign fault or blame. Just be honest that marriages can have rough patches and eventually this will work itself out in some way though you have no answers on what that might look like yet. Of course, one problem is a pretty stressful day has brought a lot of things to a head so rapidly that no one really knows how to react yet. That grandmother likely hasn't had time to process all that is going on yet to even sit down with the grandkids.
While I feel bad for Missy being neglected, I honestly don't blame Mandy for snapping and telling her to go away. Mandy just had a baby that won't stop crying. She's tired and overwhelmed and Missy is only talking about her own problems. Missy definitely needs to talk to someone, but perhaps a new mom struggling with her first baby is not the best choice. She should of talked to Georgie, Sheldon or Meemaw.
I feel so bad for Missy I know the coopers got a lot going on but Mary and George could have been more apologetic towards Missy and understand where she is coming from.
Missy should have told her parents that she was really trying to do in school was talk with Billy of all people, since he was the only one who she felt she could turn to in her position. That would surely have made Mary and George realize that Missy was feeling lonely and neglected.
Mary had always favored Sheldon, and George constantly put his personal problems before his own daughter. The only people she ever had to talk to were Connie and Georgie, but they have to take care of Mandy and CeeCee. When they finally acknowlede why she ran away, no one really cares about her feelings exept for Connie, but even she didn't do anything to defend Missy's case. I would expect Sheldon, George, and Mary not caring bc they're entitled, often neglectful, and indifferent to people respectively, but Connie and Georgie not considering Missy's feelings is a low blow, even for them. Idk how they sleep at night
Again, a clue about Sheldon. Missy points out he was crying all the time. His issue isn't just being gifted. He also has a neuropsychiatric syndrome. It takes a lot of parental energy to control the triggers. And, no, these kids don't outgrow, compensate or self-manage like other kids. It's a long slow process. Missy is essentially the middle child. In family dynamics, middle children see all, say the truth and tend to be invisible.
@@pkdonny1018 Dynamics are attached to interaction, not age. They refer to the place of the individual. Sheldon is treated like a younger child due to the level of care needed; Georgie is the oldest and warrants attention as needed (usually trouble). The middle child is as noted: sees all, speaks the truth; fades into the background.
@@ellenchavez2043 Kind of figured that’s what you were referring to after reading the other comments, I just couldn’t bother changing it or deleting it cause I forgot where your comment was. Lol not trying to start an argument.
I have an idea that YOUNG SHELDON is going to get even more dramatic as the events unfold, what with George and Mary at loggerheads, Sheldon getting pissy about his database cratering, Missy running away by stealing the station wagon, George crawling into a bottle and getting it on with Brenda, Mary getting it on with the local pastor and sleeping over at MeeMaw’s house, George Jr becoming more responsible, and Sheldon being more and more of a narcissistic psychopath in training. Gonna be real interesting. Great acting all around.
I like how every one before this season was talking about how George would never cheat and how he misunderstood the situation, and know every ones calling him a neglectful father, its just shows how good the story telling is, in my own opinion
Well, at least George will be talking to her. Seriously, both parents are being stupid. Brenda/George are just feeling mutually unappreciated. Mary/Pastor are just talking about pointless things together and smoking. And there was no reason that they both had to stay at the hospital while forgetting about her. They can't help in the delivery anyway. At the very minimum, Brenda could have gone back for the kids after she brought Mandy. Who cares if George wanted her to stay.
I'm wondering if Sheldon is gonna find out Missy ran away, then try to get his dad and find him and Brenda together...I think that would be a very interesting way to tackle the situation because then he might realize this is why Missy ran.
the show runners have already stated that the cheating scene won't be this season. although writer have been known to lie to try and keep things secret.
I knew this show was going to be heart breaking from what we knew from TBBT but it really hurts seeing it play out. And its only going to get worse...😭
Do I think Missy overreacted here a little bit? Yes. Do I think her parents handled the situation or heard a word she said or tried to explain the situation in a calm, mature manner. No!
@jude5976 I agree with them, I feel like because it's a prequel, they backed themselves into a corner for how Sheldon's character is written in the Big Bang. He can't learn to change and grow from his mistakes. Idk what the creators are doing wrong here, but Young Sheldon was at its best in the first season soley because Sheldon was not obnoxious and rude. He actually got called out by his family when he was being arrogant or mean, and he would apologize and change by the end of the episode. Here, he's played as a comedic character, and they are unfortunately playing up his flawed traits for a cheap laugh, even if it sets his character back and undercuts the serious tone of the scene.
I wish the show was an alternate universe rather than a prequel. That way, George doesn't have to cheat on Mary and die, Missy has the potential to be more successful than she was in TBBT, Georgie and Mandy don't split up, etc.
A lot of comments said that Missy was neglected due to the parent fixation on Sheldon. I agree when it comes to Mary, that woman favors Sheldon way too much. But George, I think he actually gave her just as much attention as he gave Sheldon. He taught her how to throw a baseball and helped her join a team(although Meemaw did most of the heavy lifting), was there for her during her first period, brought her to a daddy-daughter date, taught her how to drive and tried his best to check up on her. But sadly most of the time, she would chase him away. The one and only time, he shuts Missy down is in this video/scenario., which I can understand. He does not want to hurt his kids. Imagining telling your kids that "hey, your parents don't love each other anymore and I have feeling for another woman". At least not now till both he and Mary make up their mind on what their gonna do. He needs some space.
Missy has from the beginning of YS been largely ignored and underappreciated (by her family). Only Sheldon has anything approaching a close relationship with her, but she is so justly jealous of how he is regarded by her family and everyone else that it is strained through that prism, at least, most of time. However, when things go sour (like, all the time), Sheldon and Missy are each others' go-to for life-support. They truly love each other as I think do the actors who portray them - watch for things to happen between Ian and Raegan in the real world. Mary is a terrible mother, overweening Sheldon and underweening Melissa. Georgie does even exist to her. She's not much of a wife either, unsupportive and barely even a distant companion for George. I do not blame George for thinking about straying. A true cliché - "When you can't get love at home, you look for it elsewhere." Mary, who loves only Sheldon as long as he remains a child, and an immature concept of "Jesus" (essentially the same thing) is not sufficiently intelligent nor emotionally mature to understand her duties to her husband and daughter and how she has contributed to Sheldon's autism. Her religiosity is past annoying and is destructive to her family who thankfully do not emulate her or find her delusions to be anything of value. Hypocrisy rules her shallow, childlike life. Georgie is a barely literate materialist who is much smarter than he is given credit for. by everyone except his Me-Maw who knows the truth. Unfortunately, she never passed much of her wisdom on to her daughter, Mary. In recent shows Georgie has shown himself to be the only really responsible adult character of them all. His willingness to support and raise his daughter, and after his father passes, to support the family, shows him to be the best of them all, after all. We may all rightly fear for Missy who is the most damaged of them all. Unfortunately, while she is a lovely adolescent and will become a beautiful woman, she will reman damaged and unfulfilled. Oh, I almost forgot, this is supposed to be a comedy.
@Christopher Bingham So, we fundamentally and specifically disagree. Alright. You are incorrect about much, but most importantly about autism. Ignorant parenting can cause an autistic child’s symptoms to worsen. This is not only medically true but makes a lot of common sense. BTW, notwithstanding his age, Sheldon has never been an adult.
Wait?!!!! Missy's teacher is Wayne's wife?!!!! Didnt realize she worked at the school also. Didn't she cheat on Wayne? I was wondering why Missy would say what she said to her.
Well yes Missy does feel overlooked by her own parents. But however at the same time back in the olden days in the 90s parents did not understand about hormones that much and that was why Missy was in her rebellious state. But before your child turns 10 you have to know what to do when your child is getting hormonal at the age of 11 year's old.
Are you insane? In the 90s everyone understood about hormones! It was no longer a secret. You are about 40 years out of date. The 90s are NOT the olden days! Sheesh, what a silly comment.
Missy was right, Mary always takes Sheldon side. She didn't even care about Missy’s feelings, she just yelled at her because she cares about no one except her and her good for nothing smart ass son!
Its mostly Missy's fault. Mary tried to connect with Missy tons of times including but not limited to Pancake Sunday, volunteering at her school, asking her about her crushes etc. but she was shut down everytime by Missy. Missy has always been rude to her mother for no particular reason at all except for being "cool". I would argue that her character is the most bland in the entire show, focused on nothing but boys and relationships. Sheldon is actually nice to his mother, going to the church to make her happy even though he doesn't believe in a god. Georgie is close with his father because they share a bond. Missy just hates both of her parents and then wants them to direct all their attention to her while she continues to villify and mock them.
Even though the parents (specially Mary) were focusing more on Sheldon than Missy, but her accusing them of neglecting her is not true at all, throughout the series both tried to be at her side and assist her. Plus George was at fault for forgetting her but she did overreact, not to the point of literally STEALING the truck and running away
Raegan is such a great actress, the emotions she shows in her acting is truly amazing and as for the character Missy, I feel so bad for her, she’s truly hurting and no one cares or notices until things go “too far”.

That is a complete lie. Sheldon does not gets away with disrespect:
1) When he accuses Sturgis of plagiarism, he is banned from the class.

Not everyone is that lucky...
+ She slammed the door at her father’s face and he didn’t even hit her, yell or anything
What Missy did was wrong yes but I personally don't blame her here. She's been neglected her whole life
In an earlier episode, I wrote all the things they had done to Missy.
I am the only girl child and middle child . That’s not what neglect looks like . She is way too lucky .

My mom grew up poor in the south and had that serve the men in her brain. From the time my little brothers were born, my sister and I were expected to sacrifice and serve them. "Dealing with failure is a tricky one... You can face it and overcome it, you can avoid it, you can drown it down, you can talk to someone about it and some people choose to run" - Sheldon Cooper
What a profound insight !!
Sheldon pisses me off so much. Now that he’s older he’s such a Fuck and is so selfish. Makes me want to beat his ass
Sheldon is not abnormal. He is unique. In retrospect, we are all abnormal...
Absolutely love how Young Sheldon can mix real life issues with humor. It makes you think while you are laughing 😅🤣😂😆
So Sheldon is technically the Middle child then😂😂😂
Yep. I'm the failure in my family. Always the problem child. So know how it is.
This gets me so emotional. Because I grew up like Missy. Invisible. Having a sibling who was clearly the favorite etc. It hurts.

@Christopher Bingham You notice how many of things are done by Meemaw and Georgie, and how few by Mary.
@Christopher Bingham If so she figured wrong. Even to do that would require her to be less self absorbed that she has thus far demonstrated herself to be.

While she did go over the line both in the way she talked to her teacher and in stealing the car, nothing she said was invalid. She has always been the forgotten one in the family because she isn't as drama filled as georgie or as intelligent as sheldon. She is just there. Also there are also cases where people do not change anything because noone ever corrects them which can lead down a dangerous path for one's mental health even MORE if they are a victim, because being the victim of such a thing is already bad for the mental health and noone realizes until the damage has been done and maybe way past that

Point well taken.
@Christopher Bingham You're taking Sheldon's side and in TBBT he hates her AND Georgie. Grow up.
You're right about Sheldon being the villain of the family. I honestly believe the family would be much happier if Sheldon didn't exist.
@@Unfamous-Chronicles she has a good reason for running away: Everyone either cares about Sheldon or Georgie’s baby and her parents marriage is basically either dead or on life support
@@matt13r1 I never said she was unjustified in her hurt. The same issues have been present for 6 years of the show. However no kid should run away. No money, nowhere to go, just a kid… if she were not to get caught or return home, her life would be horrible.
@@Unfamous-Chronicles But I can’t blame her for running away. Her parents marriage is over and when she saw her mom comfort Sheldon that was the last straw.
I doubt they will say that Missy scared them,
It will be more like Mary hot pants ,with her eyes bulged out,and yelling at her .
She ain’t had to do the teacher like that 😂

I feel so bad for Missy. Watching this makes me feel lucky and blessed that my family is not like this. My parents have NEVER forgotten to pick me up from school and I’m 22.
Missy really deserves so much better.
Boo hoo, she got left at school for an hour. Lots of kids have to take public transportation every day when their parents are busy providing for the family. One day without being picked up won't kill her lmao
@Christopher Bingham how are Billy and Paige family problems more significant over Missy’s ??? You’re literally just a hardcore Sheldon lover and hate missy
@Christopher Bingham and missy’s parents are on a brink to a divorce but that’s not important right?😂😂she’s just a spoiled little brat right ?? This girl literally expressed that she feels forgotten in her family on numerous occasions and they still ain’t change their ways to be there for her more. Yet you dismiss that and bring up ONE time each of them where there for her once

you seriously need something to do with your life.. i’ve scrolled through the comment section and for like a week straight you been responding to probably one hundred comments or more.. get a grip. snap back into reality or something? go outside. every comment you made completely disregarded the whole fact of everything missy gone through. you also only replied back to comments regarding missy, it’s so obsessive and weird. your user name pops up under every comment thread. i’m not even the type to comment on your tube at but you’re so hateful towards a a teenage character, it’s scary. you need help, you’re way to invested in a TV show.
@Christopher Bingham wow.. i actually checked you responded to 406 comments.. don’t you think that’s odd? :/ get phycological help. seriously.
I love Missy’s character so much
This reminds me of when my dad forgot to pick me up from school in Middle School and I had to walk home in the rain storm.,
Have to walk home every single day, but I understand stand that my parents have to work 9 to 5 to provide for the family. Don't understand why Missy is acting so melodramatic because her parents forgot to pick her up once.
If they weren’t so mad , they would’ve been able to focus on what she was saying ….. because everything she was saying was true
Yeah the way they completely dismissed her is so sad
@Christopher Bingham you don’t get and I won’t explain it to u …. 👍🏽
Missy you can't drive without a license. You're gonna get pulled over 😂😂😂😂😂
Nobody has said it yet Mary is a horrible mother Mary is selfish she self-absorbed
A lot of people have said it .
She also only cares about Sheldon
So true. Mary's parenting borders on child abuse.

George should've explained to Missy what was going on with Brenda, it's not like he did anything wrong with her
Thats the crazy part i cant figure out why is he scared to talk about it if nothing has happened
This has been my point with bbt too, people enable Sheldon because he is a genius. Missy is right and i am sorry kids need love and transparency.
I feel so bad for Missy I know the coopers got a lot going on but Mary and George could have been more apologetic towards Missy and understand where she is coming from.
The ending to this episode is sad but it is really well done
Honestly, I don't blame Missy for being hurt
Missy should have told her parents that she was really trying to do in school was talk with Billy of all people, since he was the only one who she felt she could turn to in her position. That would surely have made Mary and George realize that Missy was feeling lonely and neglected.
Idk why this line makes me so emotional ! 💔💔💔 how many young innocent sweet souls got lost running from family issues 4:45
Missy is the best thing about Young Sheldon.
I really feel sad for Missy.
But, I am rolling on the floor as Mandy said seeing Baby poop, *"How is it that colour, she only eats milk?"*
I don`t blame her for running away. When her family focus on Sheldon 99.9% of the time.
I’m on team Missy. It’s not that I feel sorry for her because she grows into a beautiful woman
Than she becomes Sam's mom on cobra kai
In her perspective, she is not unreasonable for being the way she feels.
She’s actually the youngest since Sheldon is older than her by two minutes.
Sheldon is really special needs, and in families like that the other kids can be neglected.

Psychopath ? Missy's the one who likes to blow things up.
Missy said “but I can laugh about it now”, the exact way Penny talked about ending up at a hotel with a guy named Luther. 😂
Oh my gosh Sheldon and Missy are growing up so fast.

Holy shit Missy stole George's truck ohh man she is gonna get the biggest yelling of her life has she ever heard "you don't mess with a man's truck"
Man, I really feel bad for Missy.

I always loved the relationship between Sheldon and Missy.

This is such a good show that I kinda wish it was a stand alone series and not just a prequel to TBBT
What difference does that make? Just be thankful the show came about because of TBBT.
Mary needs to lighten up with Baptist judgment. Missy is a normal girl.
A true cliché - "When you can't get love at home, you look for it elsewhere."
Mary, who loves only Sheldon as long as he remains a child, and an immature concept of "Jesus" (essentially the same thing) is not sufficiently intelligent nor emotionally mature to understand her duties to her husband and daughter and how she has contributed to Sheldon's autism.
Being a middle child comes with your family ignoring you. But I like how George cares more about her than Sheldon.
Wait?!!!! Missy's teacher is Wayne's wife?!!!! Didnt realize she worked at the school also. Didn't she cheat on Wayne? I was wondering why Missy would say what she said to her.
Yes.
I cheered Missy. She just said the truth, and exposed the hypocrisy.
4:06 is such a powerful moment
Do you know the song?
Missy goes through the hardest time, she tries to help everyone but no one is there for her
Well yes Missy does feel overlooked by her own parents.
I agree with your comment , but you really need to know the meaning of good-for-nothing. Because sheldon is the opposite of good-for-nothing.
@@FictionExecutive Exactly, that's just being petty for no reason.
Missy just hates both of her parents and then wants them to direct all their attention to her while she continues to villify and mock them.
missy deserved so much better❤️

Even though the parents (specially Mary) were focusing more on Sheldon than Missy, but her accusing them of neglecting her is not true at all, throughout the series both tried to be at her side and assist her.
