I think the room and the view that you got was beautiful! We’ve been to Waikiki recently, and all the hotels there have resort fees. Other hotels have higher resort fees and parking than Sheraton. I mean, you have to consider that if you go to a tourist destination like Waikiki, you kinda have to expect all these extra fees. I think that it’s very well known that Hawaii is an expensive destination.
I think people should just conceptually bake the extra $50 into price of the room. It is what it is. The bottom line cost is what matters. That you paid w/ points and also wanted an upgrade to a *Diamondhead View* room is wild. You're paying w/ points at a Sheraton and whining the whole time lol
The fact that many hotels there are expensive as it is and charge resort and parking fees on top of that drives me away from hotels altogether and look for an apartment or condo rental that includes free parking as well as a kitchen that includes a full-size refrigerator and everything I need to cook my own meals if I want to instead of being dependent on restaurants all the time while I'm there.

I stayed there a year ago, and your right the resort fee is one almighty rip off

Are u an interior designer or a tourist. I get the resort fees but damn…..
You go to VRBO and the fees are enormous. I decided that a room for a few weeks beats the service fee and host fee plus plus
I loved it there
